This song has been preserved in the library of Congress for it being a masterpiece of historical reference. Yeah, it's that good. These living legends won the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award and are STILL making records....
Metallica is one of those bands that you can say you're proud to have lived in the era when they were making music. One of the best bands ever and I say that as someone who grew up with brit pop and trip hop.
@@jordanbenson2980 In our time, it was not strange that Metalica,Public Emmy, Chemical Brothers, Beastie Boys, Prodigy and Massive were playing at the party...
Metallica, they are so incredible... The bravado and show off nature of youthfulness has been replaced simply by the knowledge that they know who they are and are super comfortable with this fact. They know that the people who come to their shows are there for them as they are there for the people. Metallica, they just belong on that stage and can sell out a show on any continent. Which is what they have done. They played in Antarctica a few years back too. They feed off the crowd and the energy drives the crowd into an even more higher place which turns the neverending cycle more and more. Been to several of these shows, but wouldn't hesitate even 1ms to go again. It is a borderline religious experience... You cannot get enough of these guys and they cannot get enough of us either. Metal music is outsider music and all of us outsiders love it and them. Can't wait to see them again in Finland!
Fun Fact: They played "Master of Puppets" at about 120% speed here. Simply amazing Also, this song just so happens to be really popular right now because of Stranger Things season 4. Of course it was already a legendary song and didn't need any publicity to be acclaimed, but it was still a badass cool scene.
I hadn't seen the title of the original video, but as soon as the audience started singing, I knew that it was either in Montreal or Quebec City. Those two towns are famous among touring bands and singers. The fans there are very dynamic.
It's cool to see your reactions to this music, which you've already become acquainted with. Your reaction is becoming similar as my own. You can see all the nuances of the same song, but different recordings. Took me over 30 years to get to this point. Y'all are on the fast track. Keep making videos.
I found Metallica in 1988 - Master Of Puppets was my first album of theirs. Was blown away. Went back and bought Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning. Been a fan ever since. What a wonderful metal ride over the years and they are still bringing it!
As I listen to this Video my 5 and 7 year old Grandson's sang along to most of it word for word. How cool do you have to be for 3 generations of a family to know the words to your songs? All hail Metallica.
High five to this reaction!🙌🏽 Brad got it! Finally. Yes!! Just immerse yourself to the music. Let loose and go nuts! It’s so much fun! I wish for the day you can see them live. 🤘🏼🤘🏼 As always, Lex is fun to watch, but Brad, you did it! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥰🥰
My first Metallica concert was in the summer of 1987 the tail end of the Puppets tour. I have been to 14 Metallica concerts since. They never disappoint. BIRTH SCHOOL METALLICA DEATH 🤘💀🤘
I saw them on this tour, at Nassau Coliseum in NY. I won a meet and greet pass, so I got to meet the band before the concert. Metallica has been my favorite band since I was 11, which was in 1984, so I’d been waiting 25 years at that point, and at least 15-20 concerts of theirs, to meet them, because they are the ones that inspired me to learn guitar. Playing guitar is what got me through my teens, it was an emotional outlet that literally saved my life. I would not be here if it weren’t for Metallica and playing guitar. I finally got to tell them that in 2009 at the Death Magnetic concert. Meeting them was surreal, an experience I’ll never forget. We also had amazing seats for the show, and to top it all off, my then 70 year old father came with us. It was his first concert ever, for any music genre. He enjoyed it, he loved the energy and remarked about how much energy the band put out and how much the crowd gave back. It made the concert even more special, and that’s especially true now because he’s no longer here. It’s a night I’ll never forget and is one of my favorite memories of my dad and I.
Heavy metal is the greatest music in the world, nothing compares to it. The best musicianship and song writing. There is not another genre of music that can come close.
I've seen them live twice, in 2009 and 2013. Both time it took me a couple of days to recover 😅 Ears ringing, voice wrecked and buzzing like crazy. Walked on clouds for three days 🤘
The band I've seen the most times, coming in at 12! First time was on the Master of Puppets tour opening for Ozzy, right before Cliff died. There's nothing quite like seeing them live. Unbelievable energy!! However, as much as I like to sing/scream along with the lyrics, I don't like it when they leave it completely up to the audience, at least not for a whole verse. I'm like "I paid a bunch of money to hear YOU sing it" 😆 It's fun while you're doing it though.
Seen them with Jerry Cantrell and days of the new..July 4th 1999...they played just over 4 hours.. the ground literally shook..and every song sounded just like the CD ...they were slick asf
I have seen them 5 times. The first time when I was 9 in Cincinnati at Riverbend arena in 1992. The second time when I was 17 in 2000 at Kentucky Speedway. James Hettfield was hurt in a jet ski accident and couldn't make it. The other bands were Korn, Kid Rock, Power Man 5000 and System of a down. At the end we got to see the other Metallica members play songs with the other 4 bands. It was amazing and we got free tickets to see Metallica at an upcoming date at Rupp Arena in KY a month later which was the 3rd time I saw them. The 4th time I saw them at Ohio Stadium aka the horse shoe in Columbus Ohio in 03 when I was 20. That was a stacked one too. Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Mud Vayne and Def Tones. The last time when I was 21 I saw Metallica and Godsmack at US Bank arena in Cincinnati in 2003. All of them were amazing and of every band and artist I've seen live nothing compares. Do more Metallica lives please.
Yep, awesome being at the show singing with them. When I saw "Through the Never" in theater there were people singing along too. "Memory Remains", "Seek & Destroy" have audience singing parts, "One" had people singing,,,can't remember.
I absolutely love this band, I've seen them many times, the girls time on The Puppets tour with Anthrax supporting and my ticket only cost £4.50...yes people £4.50!!! What an amazing gig, every gig is. When I hear their intro The Ecstasy of Gold I get all emotional, the pretty bit of this song does the same. Love love love
I saw many times back in the day and I must say their prime time was during the And Justice Tour. James was out of control, just a while raw caveman full of anger. It was crazy. Now it's just a big show, and everyone is in control. They now lack the wild aspect that made them scary back then.
Just let the machine open you up. It's like enjoying driving. So many gear changes, speeds, turns, etc. It's about the "peace" of the journey. Love you guys!!
Metallica is love by my generation, because they keep us young and they are a testament to how awesome music was in our youth. The fact that they can still deliver at their age is a testament to their love for their fans
Metallica longevity and ever growing popularity is a testament to the axiom "sharpening your axe". Metallica shows their love for their fans and their love for their craft.
Not sure if you caught of the lyrics Brad/Lex but it's about drugs(being the master) End of passion play, crumbling away I'm your source of self-destruction Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear Leading on your death's construction Taste me you will see More is all you need Dedicated to How I'm killing you Come crawling faster Obey your master Your life burns faster Obey your master, master...........
I think I saw this tour - they look the same and have the 'oval stage' in the center of the hall with stairs going under for their 'backstage' which is quite unique. James Hetfield spits a lot!
If you ever get a chance, if there's ever a show that you have to put some extra effort into going to see. Go see Metallica play live. One of the best performances you will ever get. I have seen them 15 times and they NEVER disappoint.
Absolutely agree. Plus, this is 100% live - no backing track, no lame lip synching, and real musicians that will NEVER cancel because some roadie lost a laptop.

I would argue they've never had a "prime", they've always been amazing. I would say they've had eras, three epic eras coinciding with their bassists, each of which is awesome.
Been to their concert Costa Rica 2016. Mid to late 50's and they were non stop for 2 1/2 hours. I had to sit down and rest 4 times from standing. Pure energy. Don't know how they do it?
Metallica is known for their relentless touring(more so in their younger years, but still today, relative to their age). They all have various physical ailments from years of wear and tear.
Coolest thing I ever saw at a Metallica show was the and justice for all tour when Lady justice crumbles at the end but this original tour was cool too
Just bought tickets to see them live in Seattle… I can’t wait…. But I’ll have to wait because the concert is in 2024. I saw them in 1990. So it will be fun to see them again… a lot maturer 😅
No matter how many times I hear this song I always feel the same way. It's a masterpiece.

This song from their 1989 Seattle show live is amazing…that concert is amazing…
1989 Seattle is absolutely Metallica at the pinnacle of their

Lar Ulrich the drummer wanted to start a band. He put out an ad .James Hatfield responded and the band was born.

Another comment towards Metallica. These guys are all getting older as we all age of course. But they still crush it when they're live onstage.
