This genre of music is so enchanting. Jazz-Fusion or whatever it is you might classify this as just makes me feel good. Hopefully I'll be able to pick this album up on vinyl soon
I have sweet memories being in a garden at a friends house in summer. I was 10 years old and when this album played I only wanted to do only one thing in my live. Making music like this
i'm 8 years late but my dad did exactly the same thing (which is how I got here). I heard it in an old video my dad showed me of him and remembered it instantly. Funny how this is one of the first things i see.
In the 80's there were no unemployment in Japan (and not only I suppose), everybody was in the middle class, no one too rich no one too poor... Unlike today :(
I know what you mean. I've constructed a playlist of about 500 of what I think are the best pop songs of all time; most are from the 80's. 18 of them are this decade K-pop but that well is drying up.
The first time I heard this song was when Sony's "first generation Walkman" was released. Every morning, take a crowded train to the world of "Mint Jams". Now that I'm working from home, it's one of my favorite routines to listen to to relax before I start work.
@@joel.solano59 That dude really made a whole name for himself by taking every good vintage Japanese song and throwing some overly compressed drums on top. This song was already perfect.
All Mint Jams songs were recorded live in concert and mixed down in the studio! You'll be surprised by the great quality, right? Also You can hear the audience cheering at the ending of "Swear".
This song makes me thing of 2 things 1. An 80 cartoon about the human body I watched as a kid (Once Upon A Time: Life for those wondering) 2. The lift in the building my old psychiatrist was in (it was on the 28th floor, long way up)
I know this sounds cheesy and cringe af but when i went to japan a couple years ago i played this album and a couple other jazz fusion albums on the plane ride from chicago to tokyo and when it landed "Take Me" came up as I got off the airplane. so i woke up randomly at 4:34 am then i found this song in one of my liked vids so i gave it a listen. then i reminded myself to do my filipino activity that i was afraid to do because what if i fail? my score was half of the perfect score tho but i think thats ok. then after that i played some epic minigames, and now i listened to this in online class and will do it again because i just added it to my epic playlist
Wait, Macross 82.99 has a song named night in Tokyo part 2 and it sounds almost identical to this. I knew it sounded familiar, but didn't know it was basically ripped from mint jams
I remember when this was all over RUclips's recommendations 😄 This track is great for living is a big city. I would not eat mint jam though, even as a mint lover, it sounds gross 😅
The Telegothika I think it sounds more complete due to the amazing reharmonization in elec piano. Level 42 keyboardist is very prolific but never played so full of tensions like this one.

Seeking perfection is futile. Imperfection is true beauty, so just enjoy it for what it was and still is today :)
