After hearing this record along with Mint Jams and their self-titled they have quickly become one of my favorite groups. Just such a clean sound. Mint Jams by Casiopea and Sea Is a Lady by Toshiki Kadomatsu are my albums of the year all these years later lol
You didn't upload the correct version of "Take Me" (Track 1), you uploaded the Mint Jams version. Super Flight version of Take Me has an acoustic piano instead of electric piano.
This has one of the greatest albums ever made. to me this is the jazz fusion equivalent to the first Wynton Marsalis standard time album in that the synergy between all of the players is on a almost unfathomable level. There collective sense of time and rhythm is absolutely baffling to me, they are just so tight it's insane. It's like Return To Forever on steroids except I think these songs are much more listenable. I am just in awe at how this album has such a high information rate but it is always musical, there is not a contrived note in this album. Every single note and rhythm is played to benefit the music and it shows. This album is true masterpiece in every regard as far as i'm concerned.

Loving Casiopea so far! Saw their self-titled release in my suggestion box (No idea why it was there considering that I don't listen to jazz much. Maybe listening to old school funk compilations did it?) and thought, "Why not?" I'm glad I took that shot in the dark because now I'm hooked. Listened to their self-titled release and Mint Jams while working yesterday. Helped me forget about the Texas sun and get the job done. This same type of music was used in the menus for Gran Turismo 3, so it's very nostalgic for me as well as genuinely enjoyable. Thanks again and keep the tunes coming, my brother!
I think this band is very much ahead of its time. I know it's not apple to apple, but some parts of their song reminds me of progressive rock/metal in 90s, e.g. Dream Theater..
Out of all the Casiopea songs on RUclips, I was driven to this one at this moment, so I guess it worked. I've loved Casiopea for the last three decades, always discovering new songs of theirs where they just treat it up..A E S T H E T I C
I like Make Up City, which started it all for me...a solid and sexy album from start to finish. Super Flight features some great cuts, but "I Love New York" is a cover (albeit an interesting arrangement), "Magic Ray" belongs in an elevator, and "Mighty Mouse" is just silly.
There's some simple but unattainable beauty in that album cover. It's like what a child would look at with hopeful excitement in some colorful encyclopedia of world wonders or maybe something more mundane than that.
Apparently he left while they were working on this album, or something, so he's not playing on all Superflight tracks. Can you tell which ones he's on?
The album cover is giving me a Bonanza Bros. vibe. That is a great SEGA Genesis game. Also, this album kicks ass! Casiopea is up there with the Chick Corea Elektric Band!
One of my favorite Casiopea albums, but man Mighty Mouse stands out like a sore thumb stylistically from the rest of the album. Like it would fit in the Muppet Movie just fine, haha
Hi my dearest, is specially this song of casiopea it gives me goose bumps all the time when I play this song, I so much appreciated the music of the 80s jazz, funk, soul, we've had the best music of all times, happy holidays to all your families hey 💞❤️💖💕🥰💥🎆💯💯💯💯💯💯💯😜
So much that it deserves a sexier name like ORION. I wonder if they made an error in the translation because I have no clue what "Olion" is supposed to mean.
This is called jazz-funk. It's a fusion subgenre.I've listened to western bands or groups that play it but it's not the same as Japanese one so if you want to broad your search , go ahead and investigate jazz funk path. But if you want to listen more towards the japanese path, I recommend albums like 'Escape' by Katsutoshi Morizono & Bird's eye view, and the groups Katsumi Horii Project, Cosmos, Synchronized DNA and T-Square.

Look up Casiopea live in 85. It's more energetic with crazy bass and DX7 solos. If you really want to go all out try out Polysics.
