I love how Londoners have been so welcoming and open hearted to Japanese musicians for all these decades. From Casiopea to Perfume, all genres and all great music performers and entertainers. What a great opener to use Asayake! Usually used as a closer or encore song, it's an uplifting song to use open with to get the audience energized. Bravo!
I believe it was the spring of 1983 as I remember Minoru Mukaiya talking about the Photograph album having just been released. My band mates and I went to see them playing at the Yamaha Centre then located in Nakanoshima, Sapporo, Japan. As we were hanging around the centre, looking at keyboards and other instruments on display, the members of Casiopea found us and began talking to us in a very friendly way - just before the concert. They were in their 20s and we were 14 years old. I remember bugger-all of what we talked about. But we had our jackets autographed by the Casiopea members. Of course, being ordinary school boys, we did not speak English back then. And little did we know then that this band would later become so well-known in many parts of the world! Here I am living in an English-speaking country, reading all these comments, many of which coming from countries other than Japan, makes me so happy! It’s been 40 years since I saw them. But I can still listen to and ‘see’ them on RUclips. Not only that I can even leave comments that I know someone somewhere in the world might get to read. Thanks, internet. Thanks, RUclips. And thanks, Casiopea.

The great legend fusion band ever...
I Love casiopea
Issei Noro’s sense of showmanship is the best I’ve ever seen.
I was there!!! Bought a lovely pink Casiopea T shirt :)
Dunc Bray
Lucky 👍
80s fusion is really not my cup of tea compared to 70s stuff but wow this band is making me turn the corner.Happy fusion played at the highest level. This drummer is as good as Gadd or Porcaro imho.
I feeel the same i love Rtf And Weather R. But these people are amazing!
Akira Jimbo is a few steps above lots of drummers in the world and is still kicking it..
as good as simon philips.
Akira Jimbo has quoted Steve Gadd as an influence. When I watch that Domini Line live from Feb 1982, I can hear that last solo from Aja where Gadd goes into that Samba style rhythm, and Akira does something very similar in his solo.
I mean this in the most loving way - NERD! But in a good way. 👍🏻
So tight. That bassist has an amazing tone.
