Húsvét hétfő a magyar népéletben a locsolkodás napja. Nagyon sok kellemes emlékem kapcsolódik ehhez a naphoz. Az idők folyamán sokat szelídült a népszokás. . Eleinte a szokás szerint a legszebb ruhájukba öltözött fiatal hölgyeket az itatóvályúba, a tóba vagy a folyóba dobták.
Ez később vödrös locsolkodásra szelídült. Napjainkra - főleg a nagyobb városokban - teljesen kikopott a népszokás, vagy csak jelképesen illatos kölni vízzel frissítik fel a hölgyeket az urak, amiért piros tojást kapnak jutalmul.
