It has nothing to do with the weather, because the tradition is for boys and men to chuck water over young women, for which the girls reward them with small gifts.
"The girls deserve it. Tradition says boys wander around with buckets with cold water," said one la...

For the slavic countries Hungary is like that one friend who comes over so often he's basically treated as family. By origins and historically we aren't a slavic country but culturally we exchanged so much with them, especially with Poland, that we're technically seen as one.

Genetically you are Slavic, the Hungarian language came somewhere from western Siberia and later these people just assimilated the original Slavs in todays Hungary

@@majstter7420 Mostly slavic, but the Magyar tribes had siberian origin, so when they have arrived, they got assimilated with the conquered slavic people, it is why genetically are so close, however in the history nobody knew that before the DNA was discovered, so peoples were determined by their spoken languages.

@perseus274 Assimilation when two different peoples/tribes etc. become one (melted together).
Forced? Common people were always speaking Hungarian of the Hungarian population. Latin was only used among the higher class people, kings, nobles, priests.

that's super neat ! there's just so many neat variations of face types in Europe that look so different from the other as one travels through regions in Europe, the faces and cultures change, and i absolutely love the varieties each one has as well as there being relatable thing within each culture throughout.

Hungarian people are Finnor-Ugric, so I do not think they have that many connections in their DNA. Even thought they were invaded by the Slavs for a couple of decades, it does not make them related. Influences in lang and culture, yeah. Happens to the best of us, haha!

most of the case use a parfume-like parfume (what can buy in the shops at only easter and has very very light texture) and you must to tell a poem and then spray for their hairs... (it's representing the spring and blooming so the girls not ruin but blooming)
this is a festival with the "stage" and non of the cases happening like this... even if there is some case but only between very close peoples and mostly using for joke...
