- In an effort to beat some late summer heat, we head up to the Verde Valley to try out a new trail. On this adventure we'll check out the gorgeous, moderately-difficult trail that climbs up Mingus Mountain, visit an old mine, and find an epic campsite for the night.

great job ! Love it ...
Very nice video! Always nice to go off reading. I was just at Agua Fria NM for two days. Very nice jeep you have there. Thx for the video!
Another great video. After doing Sedona last week, I am searching for my next adventure.
Your trip made me miss living in the Prescott area. Our view looked up at Mingus Mt and I never got tired of its beauty. Many trips over the top to Jerome, Verde Valley and Cotto wood. I always enjoyed the monsoon times and the lightning as it blasted along Mingus. AWESOME! Thanks 😊
Love the spam and Mountain dew shot.
10:52 Famous last words.
Thanks for the video and the local history. :D
Last year on my way back from Rimrock I camped out at Mingus Mountain for a couple of days it was beautiful but my propane ran out and I had to go to town
Breathtaking scenery, great information...But I as your Grandma, am so very happy to see only the after of your adventure trips, some of this looks pretty scary to me!!!
It always looks cooler on video! But it is always nice getting home safe & sound.
Az, looks like a fun trip!! Please use the buddy system. It is a great ride! I did this over the summer!! Ur right the view is unbelievable. However that camp site is a gem.
Thanks RocHopn! When I'm out by myself I'm usually extra cautious. Having an extra person (even just for spotting) was really helpful. Glad you enjoyed the trail when you did it. It's a gorgeous area!
Great video. Thank you for making this. Looks amazing
Great stuff...you ever hold meetups?
These are my favorite trails. I usually come in from Cherry on 413 I think. I have crashed a couple ADV bikes up there. I think I saw a few of my parts LOL.
I can see why. Such a gorgeous area! I remember seeing a video of you spilling a bike on the rougher trail down into Jerome. I'll try to remember to pick up the pieces next time 😆
At 9:15 "We pitched our tent, got our kitchen set up, and sat down to relax... [ and take in the scenery: Our BEAUTIFUL Jeep ZJ which got us here. ]"
great video
Thanks, Brian. I appreciate you watching!
What an amazing video!! I just subbed and I'm impressed by tge quality of your videos. As a jeep owner and Geology student, I appreciated the "some interesting rocks" comment. I'm glad I found your channel.
Good stuff.
Thanks for watching!
I have a 1998 4.0 that has been well maintained. It has 190k miles Though. I was thinking of just buying a newer truck but didn't know if it would be worth to do this to the jeep
It all depends what your needs are. If the Jeep is your daily driver, maybe getting something a bit newer would be better in the long run? Tough to say either way. ZJs are fun and reliable!
You have a wonderful off road vehicle already, if I was you I would install a 4“ lift and get bigger all terrain tires.
My 4.0 has 217,000 and runs great. My plan is a 3.5" lift and similar setup to azoffroad's. It's less expensive to rebuild a motor ...and replace a transmission then buy another vehicle just to beat it up anyway!
Awesome video! I live in Groom Creek, come by and do a feature sometime!
Thanks Jonathan. Lot's of cool trails to check out up there. We'll try to be in touch next time we're in that area!
