More on Jim Leohnard from my friend Rajeev from LockedOnBadgers: "He’s fantastic. Was an absolute stud playing for wisc and in the NFL. His scheme is predicated on confusing offenses through disguised blitzing, stunts, etc. he is an innovator on defense and ANY team would be lucky to have him as their DC!! From a scheme and tactician perspective, you can’t go wrong with him. Solid recruiter but needs to grow in that area. He is beloved by his players and the blackshirts would return under him" "Was a walk in at wisc because he always wanted to play here. Turned into an all conf safety and excellent punt returner. Played 10 years I think in the NFL. So good"
Coach Rhule spoke at length about what Dana saw as the offensive consultant when he was brought on a few weeks ago. I don't see anyone talking about what Phil Snow, the defensive consultant, brought in at the same time found. I can't imagine that it was all positive.
Yea man, just people when they hear candidates they go to that teams defense, look at the number and run with it. Just gotta dig a little deeper. Glad you agree, hopefully Rhule does too lol
Yessir! Killed it at A&M, former Dline coach too which could help with the loss of Terrance Knighton to have someone who also understands that position very well! Great callout
I dunno ... the Broncos are sittin on the bubble hopin to make the playoffs, so Leonhard ain't prolly taking interviews (though his agent might be scheduling some, maybe) .... Rhule's gonna test-drive Butler at DC for the Bowl game, so our D better be lights-out if we pass up Leonhard for Butler. Hell, does anyone even know if Leonhard is even considering a move, much less back to the college ranks. Dvoracek is an interesting ponder ... hard to score him against Butler's experience though.
I hope Rhule has already been talking with Leonard. The way Wisconsin treated him was a shame. Also, do you see Nebraska doing something about the special teams coach? Maybe Nebraska needs to get an Australian punter?? Great insight bro!
What I've heard on Special Teams is that the expectation is for Foley to no longer be the Special Teams coach, but will remain on the staff. We will see if they pull the trigger on that move but I hope they do because it definitely needs to happen
We knew Tony wasn't going to be long term, but taking another coordinator job is questionable unless he has plans to be the head coach there next year. He has an interesting system, but his overall defense wasn't really consistent enough for championship play. I would think Butler would be the top of the list, but unless that's announced today, it's going to be someone else. If Butler was really brought in as the DC in waiting, I don't see why Rhule is taking his time to make that move. Unless he is looking at DC and DB coaches.
Not so concerned about Tony White leaving,,,,, knew that was going to happen at some point. The exoduses of players is most concerning. Last year, no players left; but this year double digit contributors are leaving like the building is on Fire...... Nebraska needs a HUGE hire that will bring in extremely talented portal players, to replace the ones that left...... Jim Leonard just might be the guy. Ryan Walters is definitely not it.
Players leaving concerns you? How did you think we’d get to 105? We had 150, brought in 20 recruits on NLI day and we need folks from the portal. We likely need 75+ to players to leave.
There is no need for a hand shake gate. ...obviously we should have done the right thing. We didn't, plenty of places to Pray.... That is not a excuse, not a biblical principle to pray for attention seekimg purpose 🙏

I fully agree about Walters

Check out the Defensive statistics at Syracuse DC Elijah Robertson! Orange went 9-3 this year.

Thank you for another for another great video.
Thank you so much. Appreciate you🙏
How about Carriker as DC and Suh as the Defensive line coach ? Try to keep it in the husker tradition?
Scott Symons at SMU?
Nebraska should already have a truck load of money in Denver for Jim Leonard
Your Favorite Leonard doesn’t run 3-3-5. Rhule wants the 3-3-5

Did Jim and Donnie play on the same Wisc teams???!!
David Sanders Jr. didn't sign today, maybe there is still a chance. 🤞🤞🙏🙏

I get the math, but it wouldnt you like to keep the best players, instead of having them hit the portal??? Especially on defense

Yea I just was making sure in my Live that they didn't want it, luckily nobody did because I'm kind of over that conversation.
