- Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religion in the world that pass their 6-point true religion checklist in the book 'What Does The Bible Really Teach?'
Aware that every Christian denomination would likely produce a unique list in which they are the last religion standing, I decided to produce my own bible-based 4-point checklist as to what a true religion should be.
As I scrutinize both the history and the current practices of the organization I was raised in, will it be vindicated as the one true religion?

Keep up the good work. I’ve been shunned for 25 years now, even though I was never disfellowshipped because I faded out. There is a very large community of support out there for people afraid of this fate. It’s rough, but it’s so worth it in the end!

What a relief it must be that you never indoctrinated anyone! None of my Bible studies ever progressed to baptism, which I’m so grateful for, but I indoctrinated my children and my husband and just thinking of that mistake makes me sick to my stomach. I can't imagine your situation. But know that the majority of us did the very best we could to help those we love the most progress in 'the truth'. Live in hope and never say never; especially today when more and more are speaking out and information is so easily accessible for those with doubts.
I baptized about 50 people as a mormon missionary. A handful of them even served missions themselves. I don't feel to bad about it. I was a different person then...
I only ever pretended to press the bell. This was in the 70’s when you could go on the ministry by yourself. One householder answered the door anyway as they saw me through the glass door. I told them I had to do this and didn’t want to bother them, he took the magazines anyway. It was the only time I placed literature! 🤗

So why do people seem so indoctrinate and brain wash after being baptized ?
The 80s were the golden age of the Watchtower and more particularly the year 1986, International Year of Peace. All the signals had never been so green for the impending Armageddon. I remember very well that at the Colombe Stadium (France) the last speech listed the six signs that confirmed without a doubt that the end was imminent:
1) The constant decline over several decades in the number of anointed people was indisputable proof for the WT of the imminent end.
2) The generation of people who saw the events of 1914 (already very old) had to be alive to see the end.
3) The clear identification of the king of the north and the king of the south.
4) the year of peace (1986).
5) The extreme nuclear tension between the king of the North (USSR) and king of the SOUTH (USA).
and the most beautiful for the end ...
6) the first members of this great crowd (already very old) would survive to see the new earth.
This is how the WT saw the imminence of the end in 1986. The word imminent had never been used so much in speeches as during the year 1986, 3 years later the term imminent will not even be used any more nor even written in Jehovist literature. Today what remains of this adulterated teaching. The generation that saw 1914 is dead, along with the first members of the great crowd (1935), the number of anointed ones only increases as the lawsuits for pedophilia increase. To top it off the WT will have us swallow its absurd double and superimposed generation which has no meaning except to artificially lengthen the sauce. In short all is well, move around, there is nothing to do. This "truth" feeds only on human credulity. My mom died having 1000% believed everything the WT had put in her head. My mom died in the lie and the deception of the WT. How not to revolt before these false prophets of modern times. Bonjour de France.
I believe there is a watchtower from around then that had those same six signs or proofs that the end was near.

I totally understand what you are going. My wife is an XJW, while we were dating because of this cult we went through some hard times. Then, started to do my own research about them. Read a few books and their own watchtower magazines. I found all of their false teachings and prophecies. I took all of findings and shown them to her slowly over the next few few months she left the organization. Shortly there after we got married. We now been married for 5 year, our daughter is 10 months old.

The entire concept of “New Light” and their tap dancing around the concept of being inspired is so much proof of man-made teachings.
On one hand, in the Feb 2017 study edition of Watchtower they openly say they’re not inspired by God, but on the other hand they say that they’re actively “spirit-directed”.

Oh my god, this video was just.... amazing. I’m attending JW’s meetings since I’m 12 (I’m 19 now) because my father decided to join them again. I had my "spiritual ups and downs" and every time I didn’t do enough for the organization I felt so much guilt. My father is also very toxic and abusive but in the eyes of the congregation he’s like an angel. And I was always his unmotivated kid that still haven’t been baptized. Since years I’m questioning if this really is GOD’S organization. I did some research but since I don’t trust JW’s bible anymore it was hard to proof anything (sadly I don’t have any other bible...) and now I saw your video. You did such a great and PROFESSIONAL job with research, I can’t thank you enough for this video.... T-T Now I’m more sure than I’ve ever been that this isn’t god’s organization. I just hope I’ll be brave enough to accept the fact, that I might loose my only friends....
You have nothing to feel guilty about! You don’t owe the GB, the elders, the congregation or your abusive father anything! I hope you can get out. Do it in your own time, if you can build up a support system for yourself first it will be easier, not easy but easier. Please don’t fear worldly people, most are kind and compassionate. Build up a group of friends and acquaintances outside JWs. Be honest with them and let them know what you are going through. If you have to flee/leave your current living situation try to squirrel away some savings as you will probably need money to pay for rent, food, etc. Seek out counselling and practical education. JWs often don’t equip their young people with the skills and lessons required to cope with daily life outside the organisation. Good luck to you, stay strong, don’t fall for their manipulative ways and keep doing your research. Wishing you all the best from Oz!
You can actually read scripture from the New Testament on the JW website in the Kingdom Interlinear Translation. It shows the translation from the Greek, then compare the scripture to the NWT. The interlinear is a JW publication that shows the conflict in their Bible. The website also has the American Standard translation and the King James. Many JWs online try to say JWs use all sorts of Bible translations, but of course we know that is a fallacy. Also when confronted with the alterations in the NWT they will never admit to the inadequate translating. Look up John 1:1 as a sample.
I'm glad that you have taken the courage to leave the JW organisation. I recommend you read the King James Version of the Bible. (You can find it online or download a bible app) Always remember that even if your friends and family decide to leave you, Jesus will always love you.
I believe that people in the Christian religion need to go to India and have an honest look at this way of life. It is every thing you are looking for as in peace love knowledge.
You say something like they worship many gods, but they worship one god that has many different faces. God comes to them in many different forms and they are all worshipped. India is very advanced

If a person wants they can find faults on anything. Even what color the sun is. The jw christians you MUST do your own research. There is a lot of learning to do. Be willing to accept change and admit when you are wrong. Jw will never force the truth on anyone. Just present the facts and help you pray.

Yes and aren’t celebrating wedding anniversaries, baby showers and graduations, similar to celebrating birthdays? I don’t see any scriptures in the Bible showing these were celebrated.
Actually, wedding rings are 100 years old. It started with a massive campaign by De beers telling people that a diamond is forever and the ultimate way to prove your eternal love. One of the counterattacks to the fact that multiple mines were discovered in Africa and the value of diamonds was crashing...(same story as why we eat eggs and bacon for breakfast.)

Very well done. Logical thought process. 607 vs 587 was what started it for me. Hang in there in regards to the shunning.
Also, the times, time and half a time part but you have to multiply by 2 always stumped me. When I believed I was satisfied with "nobody knows the time of the end" I never understood why they were so fixated figuring out the date but would preach you shouldn't try to guess. Maybe my good math grades came from Satan so he could stumble me with this.
Every scripture cited in a Watchtower article I was reading back in ‘94 being completely out of context and having nothing to do with what the article was saying did it for me. I was like “ holy crap, they’re just making it all up as they go!”

Hence, their Bible, the New World Translation Bible, was doctrinally doctored.
You can still use it to prove that Jesus is God.

What a beautiful, brave, and wise man you are! I am a high school teacher and I have struggled for years with this church. It’s one thing to prevent your children from participating in the cultural events that all children love such as holidays and birthdays, but it is quite another to shun your own children simply because they are questioning the cracks they see in church doctrine and beliefs. I have had two students attempt suicide while being shunned by their families. These students were made to remain living with their families, but were ignored by them completely. The psychological stress this puts on a child is simply mind-boggling. I live in the US, and we have seen first-hand, the way in which lies and brainwashing are extremely detrimental to a healthy society and can in the end rip a community to pieces. I can only hope that your message reaches as many jw’s as possible and that you are instrumental in ‘saving’ (pun intended) as many of these lost souls as as possible. Thank you!

Exactly! The owners of the masses have been able to chisel out the lives of the vulnerable, uneducated and innocent for their own $elfish gain, power and control.

Ironically, however, in a way, it was also one of the things which ultimately aided in my decision to leave the Society: While I was brought up on the "School Guidebook" (from 1971), yet I also made use of the Society's earlier publications designed principally for the Theocratic School, such as "Qualified to be Ministers" (1955 and 1967), "'Equipped for Every Good Work'" (1946) and the original "Course in Theocratic Ministry" (1943), particularly with regard to the suggestions contained therein concerning personal study and preparing for the meetings. Following those suggestions in publications designed for the Theocratic School led me to ultimately leave the Society because the detailed study program outlined in those publications revealed the sheer inconsistencies and fallacies in what the Society had long been teaching us. As one whose parents raised him to think and reason for himself (despite the Society's admonition to "Avoid Independent Thinking" and "Fight Against Independent Thinking" (please see "The Watchtower", January 15, 1983)), and also as one who appreciates the definition of "integrity", I realized that those inconsistencies and fallacies were absolutely incompatible with truly being an "integrity keeper".
PIMO is the acronym for Physically In / Mentally Out. It refers to people who belong to a high control religious group and find that repercussions of leaving the group are too severe so they stay in but are mentally removed from the group. PIMOs are the lifeblood of ex-JW and ex-Mormon communities, and other ex-HCG communities. I went PIMO in 2004, and moved out of my JW parents’ home three years later.

I loved this video and yes that's what we used to be told about 1914 and all of those teachings that were NOT biblical but I only saw through it when I D''AED myself after seeing the ARC in 2016 when GB member Geoffrey Jackson said that they couldn't truthfully say that they were the only true channel on earth that leads to Jehovah God, I was blown away after being taught that for 32 years and being baptized in 2009, I'd been studying and associated since 1985, that was unbelievable to hear at that, I never returned to the KH disassociated in 2017 after hearing that mind-blowing news in 2016 I tried to find my way back looking for different answers than what he said but never found any after talking to the elders SEVERAL times they couldn't show me that the GB were biblically inspired so there was NOTHING left for me. I've been watching EXJW videos since 2016. You are one BRILLIANT PERSON AND SIMPLY ONE OF THE VERY BEST SPEAKERS I'VE EVER HEARD, I LOVE THE WAY YOU HAVE EVERYTHING PUT TOGETHER and your accent is lovely.....

Two videos in.... I can't wait for more. Personally, the reason for my leaving the JWs was the ever revolving "new light". If my memory serves me well (as this was almost 30 years ago now),the last straw was something to do with the King of the North and the King of the South. Basically, I reasoned to myself: god was never ambiguous back bible times; further, if a teaching is now not correct, then how could it have been correct previously? Without the need of any "apostate" sources - only using the JWs own materials - I was able to start thinking critically for myself, instead of being led like a dog on a leash. Personally, I think any JW can do the same - it only takes a little bit of courage to do so.
You're absolutely right! Nothing destroys confidence in the Society quite like statements (whether in print or from the platform) from the Society itself!
Leaving was the BEST thing I ever did. I am glad A LOT of people are finally waking up from this crazy religion.

I left the org four decades ago and won't ever go back, but I enjoy listening to you young people present your arguments against the org to wake up as many as possible. I have gone through many stages of deprogramming and now I'm in the final stages of letting go. They had a saying in the 1970s, free your mind and your ass will follow. Being shunned in anyway sucks, but freedom is bliss!
