After 40 years as a Jehovah’s Witness, I had an encounter with Jesus, He set me free in a day. Also I was shown I had been under a spirit of fear. Now I am a born again child of God.
I enjoy these types of topics being a former J-Dub. But, I must offer some criticism. First, it's not 'Jehovah Witness' it's 'Jehovahs Witnesses'. Second, we were trained to absolutely shut down as soon as you referred to us as a cult. That will end the the conversation and you'll get nowhere. Third, if one comes to your door to spread their beliefs, you WILL NOT get anywhere arguing scripture or traditional Christian beliefs. If they feel they've been bested through history or theology, again they'll shut down. You'll be placed on a do not call list and they won't come back. The only Jehovahs Witnesses you'll get a point across to are those who already have question and one foot out the door. The pioneers and door knockers are not your target audience.

But absolutely, we are not out there trying to force anyone to believe anything. We just share what we believe, If someone is not interested we respect that and move on. No big deal. You're making it way more dramatic than it needs to be.
I tell them in a friendly way that I have been an Atheist and will remain so until my End and there is nothing to budge me, that puts me usually on their ' Do not Call again' list, and out of the Door they go, this works with JW, Scientologists and all others.
My house gets blacklisted every few years because my Dad speaks the gospel to them. I remembered the last interaction was something like "do you want heaven on earth?" And my dad responded "didn't Jesus say this earth shall pass away and there will be a new heaven and a new earth?"
@ucanliv4ever I was mistaken, Revelation 21 has John writing "1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea." Followed by "5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." 6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life." Which honestly is more to Jesus's style of showing actions rather than saying what he's going to do. And not to be mean, but Jesus didn't say or write that in Ecclesiastes (outside of inspired by God aspect). The author of Ecclesiastes isn't fully named (probably a very old Solomon), but it was a child of David at that current moment in time, not in the long-term lineage aspect. Especially prevalent given the amount of the info is a reflection on the current situation and not typically pointing to the future like most Old Testament verses about Jesus. But it is actually nice to be reminded of that chapter given my own personal problems have me needing guidance and feeling Qohelet's struggles. I don't mind talking, like I said, my family likes to inform people of the Bible and be blacklisted than be mean like most.
Unusual video. Just for the record that whole "work for salvation" section is bizarre. We preach because we love talking about our God and his son. We have something good to show people: Very soon God's Kingdom is going to cause God's will to be done on the earth. (Matt6:10) Like Jesus said, Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When you have some good news to share, you share it. Like he mentioned, over a billion hours, not because we "have to.", or 'watchtower says do it" , (what a load of rubbish) We choose to. God loves a cheerful giver.
What makes a jehovahs witness organization a cult is that, they Baptise you into a organization, not in the name of the father and son and holy spirit, and they force you through, disfellowship and fear guilt, and obligations, to follow there commands, which they call policies, as doctrines, and cherry pick and twist scriptures to do that, add to and take out words in the Bible, to fit there policies and doctrines, I know because I'm a exjw, who's been in mentality, and now is out mentality. By examining the scriptures carefully like the boereans, as well as researching the organization.

I had two guys come to my door just the other day. As one who does read and study the Bible I asked them a simple question....how do I go to Heaven? I've got 10 minutes to live...tell me how to be saved? They look at me with blank stares. Then they wanted to talk to me about how their bible is the only correct bible. They were both very nice people and I was polite too...but we agreed to disagree.

In order for a person to be saved they must agree to take a Bible study from one of Jehovah Witnesses. He or she will have to teach this person what the Bible says, they will have to make the decision, if they agree to what they are taught, if they don't, there will be know reason to continue having the weekly lessons. People would have to agree, that Jehovah Witnesses women, that are in good standing are not getting kids unless they have a husband, the young black teens are not going around killing other teens for fun or sports nor are their men doing it.

That was really informative. I accepted Christ as my Savior in 1971. I am so thankful for the hope I have in Christ. “He who knew no sin became sin for us so that we can become the righteousness of God”. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. I don’t try to talk to Jehovahs Witness because I know they are ruthless in the handling of Scripture. I also know how hard they are to reach. I also know the price tag if they talked to you. What I do is quote acts 16:31. “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved”. I told them that my salvation is secure. Why would I want to trade for what they have to offer. Then I wish them a good day and say goodbye. Chuck Swindoll talked about not trying to talk to someone in a cult unless you have the training to do so. I think that is good advice. Me being polite, quoting Acts 16;31 and telling them what more could I possibly need than this and then politely saying goodbye without letting them answer is my way doing that. If you have to let them answer I would do as Chuck Swindoll suggested and politely not answer at all
If by Catholic Church you mean in the way it was before Christianity was legalized in the Roman Empire, where Katholikos meant Universal in greek, and so the Catholic Church or the Universal Church was all the christians churches all around the countries Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Europe, etc. If so when they all agreed that Arianism was a heresy is true is because it is what makes more sense from the scriptures and from what early christians believed. The fact that JW need to translate the bible in their own way to proof their theology is enough evidence that their are wrong, this is the principe Occam’s razor into logical thinking.
And by corrupting the scripting I meant the fact that they understand the Father calling Jesus his first born is a proof that Jesus was the first thing he created, even though God calls David the first born too, besides him not being not even the first king of Israel (Saloman came first), imagine the first son of his father (he was the youngest of 8), being the first born is a title of authority, is not about being actually the first one created. And to proof their idea of first born they have to add 4 times the word « others» in the book of Hebrews to say that through Jesus all « other » things were created, since they thought Jesus was created too. So this is why the Catholic Church and all other Churches that disagree with this heresy are right and JW are wrong. But fear not, I’m pretty sure Jesus Christ still save people who accepts him and puts his faith in him to wash his sin.

The last time I had a JW knock, I opened the door and here stands the cutest little girl I’ve ever seen. About 7. There was another girl with her about 12 and of course adults standing back on the sidewalk. This little girl said “hi! My name is Lucy what’s your name?” I had no idea how to handle that. I was as nice as possible and listened to Lucy and then they left. I had nothing for that Situation.

About the "Cross', I have a very old King James Bible and in it, it says "Stake" instead of Cross, . Also in this KJ Bible, it says that hell is the grave, not a lake of fire, but "the grave". I'm not a witness or anything, just thought I'd share that.
dee dee it was a stake Greek stauros you are right you are also right with the understanding of the word Hell Greek Hades because in the Book of Revelation 20:13-15 Hell the grave is destroyed in the lake of fire which is the second Death.
The word Hell actually replaces 5 (I think - just going from my bad memory) words in the Bible. Hades (Greek / NT) was one of them yes but the Hebrew (OT) term Sheol (grave or pit) is what you are mentioning.
There is a difference between ,hell and the Lake of fire 🔥 or the ever lasting fire 🔥 reserved for the wicked , Jesus mentioned the ever lasting fire 🔥.
The NKJV is the only version recomended by Greeks for English speakers. It says cross. The JW's want us to choose the 8 men, who have never studied Greek, instead of the Greeks who say JESUS was cruxified on a cross. Incidentaly, the Greek church has analyzed the NWT and call it a horrible translation of thier language. The New Testament and Gospels were written in Greek.
The are supposed to put you on a no call list if you tell they to. I don’t guarantee they will but please give it a try. Tell them “I want you to put my house and name on your no call list.” If they ask why you could say I am extremely not interested.

The Trinity comes from the Bible. As to it being some "subset" tell me who did not believe in the Trinity for 2,000 years. Mathew 16 : 18 The church cannot die. Luke 1 : 33. I'd like to know if Jesus is King, he has been given all authority by his Father. He has been given more glory than he had even before coming to earth... yet in 1cor15 we see him handing the Kingdom back to his God and Father and subjecting himself to his God and Father.. Why do so many people insist he is God almighty?
They believe their book is more correct than the Bible, to teach people about Jesus Christ, there is no greater book than the Bible, they are not the only ones who have said the Bible have mistakes in it, and if you listen to that stuff a person may start to accept what the say as the truth and it couldn't be, but they have a right to believe like many others according to their heart.
Iam reading a book I found in our community book box. It is KEEP YOURSELF IN GOD'S LOVE and yes, I know WHO wrote it. But I use a NKJV Bible and there IS some good Biblical references that can apply to people of any religion. I think that's why my aunts were never able to convert me; I would NEVER use their bible, the NWT. They'll tell ya, "oh it doesn't matter which Bible translation you use BUT WE recommend the NWT". So I'd say, "then I can use any Bible I want". And their bible IS different. Recently they even removed verses, almost complete chapters out of John. There ain't no way I'm reading that book!

The reason I ask is we have the KJV, ASV, interlinear, Rotherham a Byington bibles right beside the NWT on our app. We compare verses constantly, I have not found anything to be missing... Sure the bible you were using was intact?

Why should you be the person to 'tell people, what to say to the JW's e.t.c" I had them call on me and said "Thank you for coming to my home on this cold morning! " and I thanked them for making the effort to call on me! I have never in 36 years of living in this road ever had a catholic or protestant bother to call at my home to preach to me! So JW's 'bring it on'. I am an adult and have enough common sense to know what to say to callers at my home, thank you!
Not JW but applaud those that. honor their beliefs.Few Christians witness to unbelievers and if honest one can't tell the difference between them non-Christians. Is it possible that being true to their beliefs the cause for the negativity?Will they be better off not witnessing and living as if they don't believe like the rest?
@@barbararichardson2747 My study of religion leads me to realise that any group that have resisted &opposed the 'orthodox' churches from the 3rd century onwards have been persicuted. For example the 'Waldenses who were slaughtered in the thousands by the pope sanctioned armies of the vatican ( see 'Merindol massecre in the 16th century ) Many minority groups have been similarly treated as well as the JW's during world war 1 & 2 because they refuse to kill their fellow men they were imprisoned. The blood issue which has diminished rather since the heamophiliac commmunity are sueing governiments in the UK & France over tens of thousands of deaths due to contaminated blood transfusions . I am not a JW but know many very sincere families of JW's who seem to me live much closer to the early Chruistians then the apathetic churchgoers in my community! I will defend any minority group who are marginalised by the 'mainstream' religions who I feel are far removed from the original teachings of the gospels!

the only problem for Jehovah's Witnesses is not to take as an example what Jesus instituted in their memory, which was to eat and drink the emblems in the Lord's Supper! for it is one baptism and one hope of eternal life. Ephesians 4: 4-6 note 4- There is one body and one spirit, just as you were called in a hope to which you were called; 5- one Lord, one faith and one baptism; 6- God, unique and Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in all.
Let me say this about John1:1. When the Godspel was written, our alphabet (Greek alphabet, I am Greek writing this from Greece) did NOT have lower case letters. Check any ancient Greek inscription or manuscript and you will see that all Greek letters are in capitals. Same goes from Latin. Lower case letters were used at about the 8th century AD (Caroligian miniscule). So John could NOT have written "god" but "GOD".

I’m open to calm discussion with anyone about their religious beliefs but I don’t judge or ridicule what they say I might or might not agree with it. The one thing I have the biggest question is the commandment about the Sabbath (7th Day Saturday) and the Catholic admission that the Catholics changed Gods Seventh Day to Sunday (1st Day). This makes me VERY WARY of anything Catholic (including Sunday Worship). So why do MOST Protestant Churches worship on the sabbath of the Pope & Catholic Church when Protestant means protesting the Catholic Worship System????
Since the Bible is the only authority for protestants. The answer to why we worship on Sunday comes from the Bible. 1. There is no example in the New Testament, incuding in Acts, that Christians observed the Old Testament Sabbath. 2. Acts 2 says the Christians met to break bread every day. This refers to Mathew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, John 6, 1st Corinthians 10 and 11. 3. This breaking of bread was not simply a common meal for those are forbidden for the church during worship. The church came together for communion. 4. St. Paul said "if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest you come together for judgement (1st Corinthians 11 : 34). Acts 20 and 1st Corinthians 7 says the church worshipped on the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK. 5. The Sabbath also was a shadow things to come that are in CHRIST (Colossians 2: 16 and 17). 6. We are a New Creation in CHRIST because of His death, burial and resurrection. We are not Moses.

The celebration of Dec 25th is not a lie, it's never been promoted as an exact time of Christ's birth. It was day taken from pagans, no one remembers what was originally celebrated on that day, so a win win, but to say Christians believe in a lie(S) is a vague comment.

It was in the 4th century that the Date was used for the birth of christ even though know one knows his exact date and there is know where in Scripture that asks his true followers to do, and it was NOT in the winter time because the shepherd were still outdoors. From what I saw, they seem to just be a branch of Pentecostals. I would be cautious of any group who tries to come up with "fundamental truths" instead of using the Apostles/Lord's Creed. Or if you are part of the church, keep any eye out if they are actively going against scripture. Stay vigilant

I don't know what your first point is supposed to prove. But where does Matthew 7:22 say anything about the Jehovah's witnesses? Many different cults refer to that passage conveniently thinking that justifies them and condemns mainstream Christianity, which is totally false. Second, we were trained to absolutely shut down as soon as you referred to us as a cult. That will end the the conversation and you'll get nowhere. Third, if one comes to your door to spread their beliefs, you WILL NOT get anywhere arguing scripture or traditional Christian beliefs. If they feel they've been bested through history or theology, again they'll shut down. You'll be placed on a do not call list and they won't come back. Which honestly is more to Jesus's style of showing actions rather than saying what he's going to do. And not to be mean, but Jesus didn't say or write that in Ecclesiastes (outside of inspired by God aspect). The author of Ecclesiastes isn't fully named (probably a very old Solomon), but it was a child of David at that current moment in time, not in the long-term lineage aspect. Especially prevalent given the amount of the info is a reflection on the current situation and not typically pointing to the future like most Old Testament verses about Jesus. But it is actually nice to be reminded of that chapter given my own personal problems have me needing guidance and feeling Qohelet's struggles. I don't mind talking, like I said, my family likes to inform people of the Bible and be blacklisted than be mean like most.

In order for a person to be saved they must agree to take a Bible study from one of Jehovah Witnesses. He or she will have to teach this person what the Bible says, they will have to make the decision, if they agree to what they are taught, if they don't, there will be know reason to continue having the weekly lessons. People would have to agree, that Jehovah Witnesses women, that are in good standing are not getting kids unless they have a husband, the young black teens are not going around killing other teens for fun or sports nor are their men doing it.

If by Catholic Church you mean in the way it was before Christianity was legalized in the Roman Empire, where Katholikos meant Universal in greek, and so the Catholic Church or the Universal Church was all the christians churches all around the countries Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Europe, etc. If so when they all agreed that Arianism was a heresy is true is because it is what makes more sense from the scriptures and from what early christians believed. The fact that JW need to translate the bible in their own way to proof their theology is enough evidence that their are wrong, this is the principe Occam’s razor into logical thinking.
And by corrupting the scripting I meant the fact that they understand the Father calling Jesus his first born is a proof that Jesus was the first thing he created, even though God calls David the first born too, besides him not being not even the first king of Israel (Saloman came first), imagine the first son of his father (he was the youngest of 8), being the first born is a title of authority, is not about being actually the first one created.
And to proof their idea of first born they have to add 4 times the word « others» in the book of Hebrews to say that through Jesus all « other » things were created, since they thought Jesus was created too.

About the "Cross', I have a very old King James Bible and in it, it says "Stake" instead of Cross, . Also in this KJ Bible, it says that hell is the grave, not a lake of fire, but "the grave". I'm not a witness or anything, just thought I'd share that.

The word Hell actually replaces 5 (I think - just going from my bad memory) words in the Bible. Hades (Greek / NT) was one of them yes but the Hebrew (OT) term Sheol (grave or pit) is what you are mentioning.

Iam reading a book I found in our community book box.
It is KEEP YOURSELF IN GOD'S LOVE and yes, I know WHO wrote it. But I use a NKJV Bible and there IS some good Biblical references that can apply to people of any religion.
I think that's why my aunts were never able to convert me; I would NEVER use their bible, the NWT. They'll tell ya, "oh it doesn't matter which Bible translation you use BUT WE recommend the NWT".
So I'd say, "then I can use any Bible I want". And their bible IS different. Recently they even removed verses, almost complete chapters out of John. There ain't no way I'm reading that book!

The reason I ask is we have the KJV, ASV, interlinear, Rotherham a Byington bibles right beside the NWT on our app.

Not JW but applaud those that. honor their beliefs.Few Christians witness to unbelievers and if honest one can't tell the difference between them non-Christians. @@barbararichardson2747 My study of religion leads me to realise that any group that have resisted &opposed the 'orthodox' churches from the 3rd century onwards have been persicuted. For example the 'Waldenses who were slaughtered in the thousands by the pope sanctioned armies of the vatican ( see 'Merindol massecre in the 16th century ) Many minority groups have been similarly treated as well as the JW's during world war 1 & 2 because they refuse to kill their fellow men they were imprisoned. The blood issue which has diminished rather since the heamophiliac commmunity are sueing governiments in the UK & France over tens of thousands of deaths due to contaminated blood transfusions . I am not a JW but know many very sincere families of JW's who seem to me live much closer to the early Chruistians then the apathetic churchgoers in my community! I will defend any minority group who are marginalised by the 'mainstream' religions who I feel are far removed from the original teachings of the gospels!

the only problem for Jehovah's Witnesses is not to take as an example what Jesus instituted in their memory, which was to eat and drink the emblems in the Lord's Supper! for it is one baptism and one hope of eternal life. Let me say this about John1:1. When the Godspel was written, our alphabet (Greek alphabet, I am Greek writing this from Greece) did NOT have lower case letters. Check any ancient Greek inscription or manuscript and you will see that all Greek letters are in capitals. Same goes from Latin. Lower case letters were used at about the 8th century AD (Caroligian miniscule). So John could NOT have written "god" but "GOD".

I’m open to calm discussion with anyone about their religious beliefs but I don’t judge or ridicule what they say I might or might not agree with it. The one thing I have the biggest question is the commandment about the Sabbath (7th Day Saturday) and the Catholic admission that the Catholics changed Gods Seventh Day to Sunday (1st Day). This makes me VERY WARY of anything Catholic (including Sunday Worship). So why do MOST Protestant Churches worship on the sabbath of the Pope & Catholic Church when Protestant means protesting the Catholic Worship System????

1. There is no example in the New Testament, incuding in Acts, that Christians observed the Old Testament Sabbath.
2. Acts 2 says the Christians met to break bread every day.
This refers to Mathew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, John 6, 1st Corinthians 10 and 11.
3. This breaking of bread was not simply a common meal for those are forbidden for the church during worship. The church came together for communion.
4. St. Paul said "if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest you come together for judgement (1st Corinthians 11 : 34).
Acts 20 and 1st Corinthians 7 says the church worshipped on the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK.
5. The Sabbath also was a shadow things to come that are in CHRIST (Colossians 2: 16 and 17).
6. We are a New Creation in CHRIST because of His death, burial and resurrection. We are not Moses.

The celebration of Dec 25th is not a lie, it's never been promoted as an exact time of Christ's birth. It was day taken from pagans, no one remembers what was originally celebrated on that day, so a win win, but to say Christians believe in a lie(S) is a vague comment.

Hello. I am not a Jehovah witness I am a Christian. The Bible teaches that there is God , his voice (The Word/born as Jesus) And holy spirit his moving power you see all three of them in the first chapter of Genesis. The three are one. This is how Christians Understand the trinity

Doesn't the king James version say at Matthew 7 v 22 NOT ALL SAYING LORD, LORD, SHALL BE SAVED, and ROMANS 10 v 13 say ALL WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED???.??
I don't know what your first point is supposed to prove. But where does Matthew 7:22 say anything about the Jehovah's witnesses? Many different cults refer to that passage conveniently thinking that justifies them and condemns mainstream Christianity, which is totally false. If you look at the verse without reading Jehovah's witnesses into the text you will see that what it demonstrates is that these people _know_ the truth, but do not obey it. Disobedient people are found in all denominations.

Priests who are Jews and now Christians testify to the fact that the Eastern Orthodox Church is the logical and true post-Messianic continuance of the Faith that Christ professed during His incarnated Life on earth. Christ told us that He is the Light, the Way and the Life and that He will be with us always. Does that not give the lie to a church that is 'founded'/'discovered' some eighteen hundred years after His Resurrection? Find the true Church near you and find out more about the Truth.
