Looks good the way it is,tire tread is fine, after my first build i learned the hard way aggresive tread will tear up rear-end.I just took mine out mudding with different rear-end and shaved down tread, tires spun alot, but i did'nt tear up anything but the ground.Spun=Fun! We just had two inch's of rain,i love it!
I really like the exhaust setup you got, I'm gonna look into trying it on my own machine. I think your whole setup is sweet the only thing I would consider changing or adding is a small battery box. A friend of mine had a motorcycle battery explode in his garage and it sounded like a shotgun going off and there was very little left of the battery. We believe it was caused by an internal short in the battery. Ever since I've been much more cautious in the way I handle batteries
You should get one of those 2 or 4 stroke bicycle kits. I'm thinking of getting the 2 stroke one and putting it together. They look like a lot of fun. Cheap too. The engine kit is like 100 dollars I hear.
That thing is so awesome! Well crafted. This whole off road "mud mower" craze is really taking off. Good example, in my area of Texas, someone built a lifted Mud Mower and they are selling it for 800 dollars on Dallas craigslist. I would build one myself, but there isn't any place to take one "mudding" where I live.
What dims are your front tires? I know the rears are 20-7x8, but I was curious about the fronts... It has a really nice stance/aspect ratio if you know what I mean. just looks like it's the right size, fits the tractor well and ads function. Excellent job on all your crazy stuff! :D
On mine, there is a massive deck drop lever. I ran a wire from it to the throttle lever on the engine. You pull the big lever and it revs. It went from 4 mph tops to 9. Just a quick mod idea. It would be sweet if you did a pulley swap too.
Nice. I just locked the trans in my Murray... Tried to do doughnuts in the grass and got a little carried away. If the tire grabbed before, I'm used to the diff taking over so I wouldn't flip... No diff=flip. I managed to flip the key off before I dismounted... But I still fucked up my dash. I know of a tractor graveyard near here, I think he has a Murray like mine...
an old video but it's inspired me to put my 99 murray widebody back together, i stripped it to put the parts on a ford yt16, but i actually miss my murray on the trails
hey nice changes i think you should get some handle bars off of a little kids bike and put them in place of the stearing wheel think that would look sweet an put you a 4 wheeler throdle on it just my taste i know every one has there own taste in things
Fearless, Your Murray ATV in many ways can be considered a "poor man's" Rokon since it narrower than ATV's and has maneuverability characteristics more similar to the Rokon. Rokon's are ridiculously overpriced: $6400 to $7200 BASE price plus options and tax. If have watched your Murray evolve into the tough, bullet-proof, well thought out modified machine it is today and have thoroughly enjoyed doing so.
i have a murray like yours with a 1 to 2 ratio it has a ten inch pulley on the front five inch on the rear it has a ton of torque it will stand up in fourth gear
hello i need some help on my mower and when i bypass the starter cilinoid it will turn over but when i try and use the key it does absolutely nothing and i' wonder if the problem is my ignition before i spend any more money thanks
Hey man see u get that 11hp why dont you get a 18hp twin on there that engin is good i have been mudding with for 3 years now and the lawn more is stock it a great motor man
What air pressure r u running in those new tire I noticed the didn't flex. Much when it was tipped up. Its just me but I'd have like 2 or 3 psi in them
i didn't weld my front end because i like the twist of my front axle but i have a bolt i heated up with a blow torch and it works well but i don't romp with it really hard. its a LT4000 craftsman with the same tranny in it. it had to start with but with four bolt hubs and atv tires on the rims and a stock muffler should i change it?
hey fearless i recently did a pulley swap on my craftsman lt4000 from a 9 inch to a 5inch and now it wont shift anymore after the first time it just gets stuck any ideas on what i should do?
My steering has a lot of play in it and I'm getting a pulley swap done and its not stable at all could u do a vid on how to fix it id really appreciate it
thanks man, the front tires are 18x6.5-8. they fit pretty good with the offset of the rear tires
thanks man, it took some time, but I really like the way it has turned out. it's a good all around offroader.
Looks good the way it is,tire tread is fine, after my first build i learned the hard way aggresive tread will tear up rear-end.I just took mine out mudding with different rear-end and shaved down tread, tires spun alot, but i did'nt tear up anything but the ground.Spun=Fun! As watching other peoples offroad lawn mowers they have to much but yours is like perfect

Thanks man, this mower started a revolution
Man all these years later I remember when this video was posted, I hope your doing good todd I still drive my Murray to this day.

Hands down the best mower of the group! Most unique and original. Freaking sweet man!
Todd and Sean from Redzz 02 and Rob
@@phoenixarizona8441 watching these videos makes me wanna go back in time and be a kid again😢
How fun looking ! Nice job and thanks for some great ideas !
Those trail wolf tires you have are pretty good all around tires. i had them on my fourwheeler and it would grab in deep mud and snow. Good luck!
I have a murry edsactley the same as yours and your videos help me allot
I really like the BMX front bumper. that's pretty cool
Really apreaciate you makeing these videos I'm 13 and am planning on building one
You're 16 now how did it go?
ya man, the only changes that happen are either replacements, or small improvements. It works really well the way it is
What dims are your front tires? I know the rears are 20-7x8, but I was curious about the fronts... It has a really nice stance/aspect ratio if you know what I mean. just looks like it's the right size, fits the tractor well and ads function. Excellent job on all your crazy stuff! :D

That's a great build
You should put some light mesh of some kind over the headlights, would give it a more finished look. Other than that, awesome tractor!

I really love the front bumper
an old video but it's inspired me to put my 99 murray widebody back together, i stripped it to put the parts on a ford yt16, but i actually miss my murray on the trails
4" on the motor, and a 5" on the transaxle
And to thing that once mowed grass LOL love it great vids man
just get it running really well, and give it a tune up. eventually throw some tires underneath it, that will help the most.
There a nice off road tractor is a 71 international with a side shaft motor runs to a drive training 2 jackshaft into the training for the rear
This is a good setup!!
not much at the moment. Concentrating on riding what I have built recently
I think it would be cool if you would get some black tint on the headlights! They make a spray paint for it to just smoke them a little bit.
Hey fearless. U should add a skid plate under that transaxle for an addition.
You should get reverse lights to. When your on a night romp they can be usefull.
never really needed a shovel, if we get stuck, we just push or pull them out... fallen down trees, we just go around them. it's worked for us so far.
hey nice changes i think you should get some handle bars off of a little kids bike and put them in place of the stearing wheel think that would look sweet an put you a 4 wheeler throdle on it just my taste i know every one has there own taste in things
Very cool, currently building a mud mower with my lt1000 craftsman 17.5hp! Love the vids
CNC Workshop I hope you upgraded to 2nd gen steering
you can coat the pullys with bed liner and that should cut down on belt slippage
sounds really good
love it trying to get one going thanks for the videos
the Beast is looking good i like the hood bolts lol spike it
I have Sand Vipers 22 inch tall 12.5 wide. I paid $70 for 2 that is $35 a piece they are V tread and i have never been stuck. Very good tire
Good update!
one of my lifted mudding mower update videos has a bunch of info of things that you can do to fix steering play.
1:1 ratio. same size front and rear. that will work well for all around use
I wouldn't change it either other then deeper tread tire if u can find them
that's probably the most famous lawn mower on RUclips....or ever
it has a metal strap that holds it down.
ouch, thats a bummer man. I hope you find a replacement for it
nope, they are screen door "pull" handles from the hardware store
You should make a front wheel drive rock crawler
such a sweet machine man ... how many hrs do u think u have into that build?
hey you should put a chrome tip on the exsaust
Cool machine
I like it a lot good job!!!
good to know, thanks man
Nice video
thnx for the inspiration and ideas
not sure, like a 7" on the motor and a 3" on the trans
if you were going to use the same gearing then yes, you'll want the same size tires front and rear
it looks so savage from the front
Fearless, Your Murray ATV in many ways can be considered a "poor man's" Rokon since it narrower than ATV's and has maneuverability characteristics more similar to the Rokon. If have watched your Murray evolve into the tough, bullet-proof, well thought out modified machine it is today and have thoroughly enjoyed doing so.
not sure, like 8psi or so
Fearless, if y'all would do a pulling competition, how much do you think your lawnmower could pull without doing a wheelie?
i have a murray like yours with a 1 to 2 ratio it has a ten inch pulley on the front five inch on the rear it has a ton of torque it will stand up in fourth gear
hello i need some help on my mower and when i bypass the starter cilinoid it will turn over but when i try and use the key it does absolutely nothing and i' wonder if the problem is my ignition before i spend any more money thanks
+cole P No the problem is the solenoid itself or wires connecting to it.
It can also be the ignition switch, just check which has been changed recently, and guess.
cole P you have to tape down the mower deck kill switch, I had the same problem
If you follow your selonoid wire you'll fine a fuse check it
lookin good!
yes it is
when did you decide to start transforming your mowers into romping mowers?
I'm building one of these tractors now. I'd like to follow you somewhere else so I can update you and get input on my ideas.
Next maybe a video on the Craftsman crawler and/or Wizard maybe? What's the plan for those?
Could you do a quick vid on how you mounted that pulley on the flywheel for the pullstart?
Thumbs up man!
lookin good
I would really appreciate you letting me know the size of the front rims and tires
Home of the Maine Mud mower. Don't give a crap is anybody says theres is better.
Also, if you were gonna make something that was 4wd, would the front and back tires have to be the same size?
Great looking ride, what size are the front tires
"so making fun of me"I say in a winy voice. lol
can you give the mower brand and model so I CAN get one
2002 murray widebody
Hey man see u get that 11hp why dont you get a 18hp twin on there that engin is good i have been mudding with for 3 years now and the lawn more is stock it a great motor man
A briggs and stratton, anything over 28 cu. in. will work. (10+hp)
Did you change the size of the rear pullet to make it quicker?
Grant
if you mean slip then thats simple just put more tenion on the belt
What air pressure r u running in those new tire I noticed the didn't flex. Much when it was tipped up. Its just me but I'd have like 2 or 3 psi in them
Many ways, the easyst way would to be to get a 4 wheel steer mower and take the bakk end out of it and put it in the front of the mower
maybe against friends, but not like a full on competition.
I’m new to this I’m going build me one and call it the cow boy killer
you can make the free electricity genrator.... costless genrator
What pully ratios would u use if u wanted a good amount of torque and a good amount of speed?
When you put a 4in pulley on the rear and a 6in on the motor how do you determine what size belt to get
I really think the 4 wheel drive with be amazing! how is that done?
i didn't weld my front end because i like the twist of my front axle but i have a bolt i heated up with a blow torch and it works well but i don't romp with it really hard. its a LT4000 craftsman with the same tranny in it. it had to start with but with four bolt hubs and atv tires on the rims and a stock muffler should i change it?
hey fearless i recently did a pulley swap on my craftsman lt4000 from a 9 inch to a 5inch and now it wont shift anymore after the first time it just gets stuck any ideas on what i should do?
oh geez.... 30-40 total... maybe a little bit more
I once saw a small ford mower with a 302 v8 mounted to it, guy wanted $350 for it. I couldn't imagine that
You should put a arms on the front
How do you make that thing go so fast so cool I'm thinking of making a mud mower give me some advice
If i want to do a pulley swap on a 20 hp what is the best ratio if i want it to go as fast as it can
My steering has a lot of play in it and I'm getting a pulley swap done and its not stable at all could u do a vid on how to fix it id really appreciate it
would really like to see a 4wd on another tractor see how you do it
i agree leave this one alone, but your next big project should be a true 4x4 lawn tractor
