For anyone wondering, I live in Madagascar and living with 900USD per month is considered being rich.
To cover your basic needs (food, transport, rent for a 1 bedroom apartment, hygiene products, water and electricity) I would say 200 USD a month is the minimum. However, the legal minimum salary here is 250 000 Ar (60 USD) a month.

@@charlielema8626 I am Malagasy so I don't know about that. However I think that if you open a bank account here, you can easily get your money wired.

Mama Lisa is a wonderful woman. A role model. She has adapted to those conditions and confronting to the real world. I love her. Greetings from Belgium. I've been to Madagascar but as a tourist they are very relaxed people and there are many opportunities to develop.

See, that's another business y'all can start in Africa, a hostel for teens leaving the Orphanages, hostels typically in Africa are used by students who don't want to live on campus, or want another cheap form of accommodations, but you can start one for teens that are being kicked out of Orphanages, give them a place to stay until they can get themselves organized.

I'm curious to know what she means by no systemic Racism. Because if Whites or those considered White or of a lighter complexion, Live a better quality of Life then I'd Wonder if that's True🤔
Also are the people in media and on advertisements including billboards all white 🤔 ( white in Mind! ) including the President!👈
I've seen a video showing a prison in Madagascar that is Horrific beyond belief! Certainly Madagascar has its Beauty, but one must look much closer to really see how some societies have Covert Racism! And just because there are a majority people with brown skin doesn't mean there's no systemic Racism, I've learned that from being in a country in southeast Asia for well over a decade! Racism is Sinister!, Evil!, Especially when it's made to believe it's Non-existent!👈🤔

hi there,I'd like to thanks Unapologetic Nomads for their video about my country!
Racism unfortunately exit in Madagascar but in different way! it's show up more in like Union or marriage of two lovers with different ethnicity not skin colour most of the time both families don't accept their union for example!
I'll said that systemic racism doesn't exist or it does but not in the same form as in other countries. You can access everything rent a house, buy things, make a loan to the bank ,go to school, access to public administration and government jobs and function no matter your skin color or ethnicity (because it's not black and white as in the US for example)
And you can clearly see mix representation on the TV and radio. You can see faire and more deep skin tone as a TV anchor, ads, movies etc
Racism existe is more linked to tradition in my point of view, for example there are a lot of sacred place (lake, traditional cult) where access to some ethnicity fo example to swim in it are forbidden for certain ethics group... it's more linked to fight and loss during kingdom wars with two monarch of two different ethnic groups.

@@ramanantsoajesse that's extremely informative! All things regarding discrimination racism and tribalism are difficult to solve over short periods. Madagascar seems like an interesting place for some foreigners to reside in or immigrate to. My concern often is Corruption! American prisons are stuffed to capacity due to Corruption and many other reasons. I wish the Unapologetic Nomads could delve more Deeply into topics surrounding foreigners being able to stay in Madagascar long term and all that's necessary to function and thrive to have a good life and what we as Diaspora can do to assist the Malagasy people to elevate and progress in their country. Sadly many or most Black Americans want to leave the states but Africans shouldn't have to or feel the need to leave Africa! We can all Win!💯👈

To Unapologetic Nomads - I've Noticed you often use the word " Nice "! I used to use that word as well until i learned from a video on RUclips that the Etymology of the word means " Foolish "! Then i looked it up in the dictionary. It may be better to use some other word when speaking to others despite any contemporary meaning of that word.
Looking forward to more videos about Madagascar!
