    You can mix the ignition coils. They're all the same parts. What you don't want to mix or change orders are the connectors/wires.

    Just changed out my plugs lots of oil in just spark plug #1 (most front of car). Rest looked good and dry. Good demo here only difference was in mine the lids that cover wiring connections didn’t just pop open like shown here. I needed to pry open lid with a screw driver, gently wiggling it open, the rest was exactly as seen here. Thanks for posting!

    thanks for the video, very rare to find content for my z4...
    this morning my engine started misfiring (at least I am guessing that's what it is), I started the car it was fine for few seconds (I was waiting for a warmup) then the sound of the car completely changed and started sounding like a tractor, and I could totally feel low frequency vibration, a shake in my car on idle.
    I think if I'm lucky its just one of the spark plugs.

    I've replaced them on mine, one at a time so no chance to mix the coils up.

    Hey, so the Bosch plugs you used were already gapped?

    • @StarSedzAuto
      @StarSedzAuto  2 года назад +1

      Yes I forgot what kind, but the higher quality ones are pre-gapped

    Anti-seize on plug treads ?

    • @StarSedzAuto
      @StarSedzAuto  6 лет назад

      That could work! Wouldn't do it myself being anxious it would go into the engine.

    • @rumporridge1
      @rumporridge1 4 года назад +1

      Jose Niles no. Modern plugs no need for anti-seize grease.

      Yes I always put anti seize.

    Hi guys
    ...don't laugh but do the plugs need set with that gap thingy?

    • @StarSedzAuto
      @StarSedzAuto  4 года назад +1

      It depends on the spark plug, some like the iridium ones are already gapped

      @StarSedzAuto  5 лет назад +2

    not a good idea to put the plugs back into a warm aluminum head. let the motor cool down completely or removal next time could be difficult.....

      Thanks for the tip, it might have been why mine were stuck too.

      But that would take hours and I think no car mechanic has time for that. I guess you could use a lower torque setting. I've used 27Nm instead of 30Nm, but still it felt quite higher than you would normally tighten them by hand. However I think this guy here has nothing to worry about because it didn't tighten them up too hard at all.
