What a tease. The slow, almost nonchalant entrance - stage right. The guitar appears. At last, we will finally finally witness what we’d always suspected lay behind that rather laid back, nothing can touch me veneer. A wail of feedback through a concealed stack of Marshalls, he’ll stand, a single, prolonged note will rip the air. Rory and Mal, the ultimate musical consummation . But no, not this time, just a tantalising glimpse of what we know will, one day, explode from this exceptional man. We can only wait.
Of course we're going to love it... Opening with Taste. That album makes me wonder where they would have gone next, had Rory stayed. He tended to play safe in his solo career. But that album takes risks. Great choice. Loved the show, great presentation. You're very genuine and authentic and it always feels like listening to music and relaxing with a friend. Please keep it up and no more lapsing. 😁👍
Morning Mally.. Recent buys include Lee Hazelwoods "13"....the stunning "Looks like rain" by Mickey Newbury.. "Songfall" by the often forgotten Phillip Goodhand - Tait and the incredibly titled. Moyshe McStiff and the return of the lancers of the sacred heart.. very different but a lovely album. Been a listener to Hazelwood for 50+years.. Unique.. Take care Mally..
Morning William-Wow-what a collection you tell of there. I'd never heard of the McStiff one (just checked it out on RUclips-very interesting) and had totally forgotten about P.G.T.
P. G. T. Local lad from Hull.. Brought up a couple of streets down from me. 2 up 2 down, outside toilet no bathroom. "Songfall" crammed full of great songs.
I remember that Kilburn album...'Pam's Moods.' Great back sleeve. Ps. what did you make of that Pere Ubu album, Mal? (Carnival of Souls.) Was it up your street?
I have the first Taste album and I prefer the first Taste album. I haven’t heard On The Boards in decades. The needle drop has me curious because it is excellent.

Love it thanks Tom- I'm gearing up for a Pere Ubu ranking video
@@VinylMonkey58 Ah, great! Look forward to that Mal. (It's not a record I spin often, myself but when I do I think 'should dig this out more..!')

More variety than first album maybe- Cheers Richie
Good as the debut was, On The Boards was a step up and one of Rory's best albums. Very moody and soulful like his first two solo albums.
4:10 Kilburn & the High-Roads, 1974 - - 4 years before Wings stole the cover for *London Town* .
Haha- very true-Cheers
