Yes definitely give it a try and thanks for watching this video my friend!
Excellent tip! I'll be doing this with my pineapple plants. Tfs!
Greetings to you Miss Finance and thanks for joining us for this "How To" video on force flowering pineapple plants! Yes definitely give this method a shot on any of your pineapple plants that are at least a year old, the results aren't immediately apparent after exposing your plant to ether so give your plant a month or two after exposure to ether before you'll know if you were successful.
I love how he calls us RUclips. Damn brother we are people just like you
he's a RUclipsr and we are RUclipses.

Thank u for this info, I will apply this to my pineapple plant that has not been giving fruit since i plant it 2 years ago.
Teodolo yes give it a try my friend, this method works well for me here.
I am in the same boat. Love from sunny Barbados 🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧
Wonderful this video !!!
I totally appreciate you my friend, thanks for watching!!
I have 17 cameras around my property. 5 are dedicated to the front. Cameras and all, if planted in my front yard, my pineapple would be GONE!!! Gotta love tha hood🤣
Lol, hey Myss Shannon!! I live like 1 house from the hood and amazingly as things mysteriously disappear from yards all around me, after 6 years I have never had an incident where something was taken from my property, I do however own a voice trained American Pitbull Terrier.. That could have something to do with it, lol, keep them cameras rolling Pebbles!
I have no ability to train a ferocious dog, Bam-Bam~
Man that is so cool!

Thank you for watching this video.
Bro , your amazing. Your voice literally could not be better damn love it
Great video! I've had several pineapple for 4 years now and I think they are finally ready to try to fruit. My challenge is being up north and keeping tropical plants happy 😂 i also have dragon fruit, star fruit, and a jack fruit tree grown from fruit i got from the grocery store and its been a labor of love😂🤣
Greetings my friend and thank you for watching this video, I applaud you for your success in growing tropicals up north 👏🏾👏🏾 Would you be interested in selling me a piece of your dragon fruit plant? Been trying to acquire dragon fruit for the past two seasons now to add to my gardens.
Mine is still pretty small but if I get a larger plant I'd be happy to share. I've been looking on etsy to maybe get some cuttings because starting from seeds has taken a long time😊
Keep growing 🌴thank you for this video I’m trying to grow pineapples this year ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Greetings and thanks for taking a few minutes to watch the video, much success to you with your pineapple plants this year Tiania!

irie tip bredrin, big up yuhself
Much respect Ras Jay, many blessings 🙏🏾
Would it be better to blend the apples and place some of it in the center? Viewing from Barbados. I have too many to do the way you demonstrated.
Not sure if that will work but it seems like it would, I would maybe try it on 2-3 of your plants and see if you get good results, thanks for watching from there in your area Agnes. Let me know if it works, thanks.
im your 100th like!
Hey Pompom Yourkey, thanks for joining us for this video my friend, I totally appreciate you and your support!
Hello Bro, thanks for the great information. How do you keep the plants alive in winter? I brought my plants in the house and I had leaves to die off. You are in GA. Does the greenhouse keep them safe in winter?
Thanks for stopping by the channel and watching this video brother, yes I’m in southern Georgia, zone 8b. I typically grow my pineapple plants outside in the ground during the spring and summer months, then dig them up as fall sets in and pot them in 3-4 gallon containers and place them in my greenhouse so that they continue to grow during the fall and winter months. I keep the inside temperature in my greenhouse around 55° minimum and 78° maximum with low humidity. Most plants, flowers and fruit trees do well in a greenhouse within this temperature range.
Greetings! I have a concern about one of my pineapple plants, and I'm dying to know if you have experienced this and if so, what you did to fix it: my first and oldest pineapple plant has been in soil for 15 months. The center (about 5 leaves) are starting to grow fairly dramatically to the right. I researched it and heard it is called, "crookneck," and is due to a lack of zinc...however, it shows no other signs of this deficiency. I haven't fertilized it in 9 months. People online suggest a zinc foliar spray...but I cant find any, anywhere...even to order. ?? Thoughts on all this?
Also, I did the apple trick to one of my newer plants (only 7 months old), and I'm eagerly awaiting to see if it blooms! I'll keep you posted! Should I try it on the other one that's older? I'm wondering if this slight tilting of the center is normal and maybe a sign it is about to start blooming? Maybe it was just leaning towards light?
A lot of possible causes of the tilting can come into play here my friend. Greetings and thanks for watching this video! Pineapple plants are rigid and rarely lean towards a light source unless you have them in containers and are growing them indoors in a situation where the light source is not directly overhead. Pineapple plants grown outdoors whether in containers or in ground will receive their light from the sun from directly above even if they are planted in a partially shaded area or only receive indirect sunlight. The leaning of the leaves in the center can be caused by flowering, by a sucker developing between the leaves, or by a spike in nitrogen in the soil, say from a liquid or water soluble fertilizer. I have seen this in my plants before but it typically has no effect on the fruit development, size, or quality. I grow my pineapples in ground during the spring, summer and early fall months, then pot them up and grow them in my greenhouse during the winter months so they never stop growing.
Merhaba öncelikle Türkçe alt yazı oluşturursanız çok mutlu olurum sizinle çoook bilgi alış verişimiz olacak ben elmayla birtane ananas yetiştirdim ve çok güzeldi benim ananasımın yapraklarının uçları sararıp kuruyor nedenini öğrenebilir miyim teşekkür ederim
Yes RUclips ♥
🍍💛
Thanks Jessica! I know the whole apple 🍏 thing sounds a bit crazy but trust me this plant is gonna be pushing up a flower stem in about a month, once it does I’ll use this same method on another one of my pineapple plants and when that one flowers I’ll do the same to my 3rd one year old pineapple plant that way my harvests will be spread out over a 2-3 month period starting around spring.
I've been growing mine for over 3 years now. It's huge but hasn't flowered yet! Of course I'm growing indoors of upstate NY. 😂 Think that has allot to do with it. But I've heard about this for the last year but wanted to see if done before I try. Thanks for video!
I totally appreciate you taking a few moments to watch this video K. W.S hope that this method works well for you!
Omg! We must've started roughly around the same time cuz I too have a huge fruitless pineapple tree.
I fertilized mine with banana water, apparently it likes it...A LOT. But no fruit.
@@nicolepringle7148 with 🍌 water? Interesting, I never heard of that. I did try the apple method on my 2 oldest ones. Figured it couldn't hurt it to try. Hopefully it will begin to flower soon.
Wow! Thanks for the info. I've been trying to grow a pineapple for about a year now also. I'll surely try your way of starting it to flower. By the way, your pineapple looks great!
Hi Cynthia and thanks for stopping by the channel to watch this video! Yes pineapple plants can indeed take their time and be a bit finicky when it comes to producing fruit. This method kinda takes the extended wait out of growing pineapples 🍍 I don’t however recommend attempting to force flower a pineapple plant that is less than a year old.
Have 8 pineapple ❤️🔥🤟🏾🎶😜
I can't find the song you play at the beginning. I've looked! Even with the Track and Artist listed. can you please give me a link? Plwease :)
Hi Jesycat B, thanks for watching, email me here: upwardlymobileent@gmail.com and I will send you this song for free in mp3 format which should play on most devices.
How about we add pines leaves? instead of apple.
3 year of pinaple plant no fruit or even sigh of flower 🥺😌😔
Did it work!?
I would eat the apple and feed it the skins.
My pineapple more than 3 yrs but still no sign of flower...
Use a slightly overripe apple 🍎 and slice it into 5-6 slices, (overripe apple slices will begin to produce ethylene gas faster) place slices one in center of plant and the rest among the lower leaves, cover plant with clear plastic bag leaving a small vent hole near the base of the plant, leave apple slices for 2 weeks then uncover plant and discard slices. Plant should flower in 3-4 weeks after using this method.
Look up ethylene gas fruit ripening . Its not ether .
I thought he said ether LOL
The speed they grow at here I reckon it will be 4 or 5 years 😂😂
Lol 😂 yes the weather definitely plays a huge factor in how swiftly they develop and produce fruit!
Lol I didn’t expect to see you in the comments Lyonheart84🤣
Apples are more expensive than pineapples here. Is there an alternative to use other fruits instead of apples? Fruits that grow plenty and cheap are jackfruit, guava and mango etc.
Both mangoes and guavas produce ethylene gas as they over ripen and will work in place of apple slices. Be sure to cover your pineapple plant loosely with clear plastic bag and leave covered for at least a week before removing the bag and slices of fruit.
@@TheGreenThumbGardeningChannel thank you so much.
@@TheGreenThumbGardeningChannel I have a huge 2.5 year old pineapple plant that hasn't produced fruit. I can definitely put the apples down into the leaves but it's waaay too big to put plastic around it. Will this method still work without the plastic?
my pineapple was about to flower but the wind destroyed its main head that should have produced fruit
Once the pineapple is in place, you have to stand guard over it or raccoons will steal the apple.
Yes exactly my friend, the raccoons will rob you every time unless you place a wire cage around your plant, even the birds here will peck a hole in them once they start to ripen .
@@TheGreenThumbGardeningChannel unless you have cats or a dog. Lol
But the cost of one apple exceeds one pineapple 🤔🤔🤔
nah in Canada, apples come 10 fo di cost a 1 pineapple
Awesome video... when i need to force flower my pineapple plants i use small Calcium Carbide lumps.. i water the plants first than drop a small pebble of calcium carbide into the center of the pineapple plant and it will start to gas up and than 1 month or so it will flower.. but i don't always need to do this cause in florida it gets cold sometimes and the cold will flower them for me.... Calcium carbide produces acetylene gas same thing that the apples produce to force flowering the pineapple plant
I am trying this method as well. It seems to work. I use something "Bangsite" for gas cannons.
Don't you mean ethylene gas or have I got it wrong?
@@heavyd777 Calcium carbide is also used in some countries for artificially ripening fruit. When calcium carbide comes in contact with moisture, it produces acetylene gas, which is similar in its effects to the natural ripening agent, ethylene... Info from Wikipedia
Hey bro you can regrow this plant right?
Yes from the crown of the fruit or from the seeds found in the fruit between the flesh of the pineapple and the peel. Using the crown is the swiftest method.
I haven’t gone to planting a plant. I questioning how.
@@saumourai6909 buy a fresh pineapple, grasp the top firmly and twist off, remove the bottom 3” of leaves from the pineapple top, plant in sandy soil mixture and place container in partial shade for two weeks gradually moving to full sun, fertilize often water only when top 2-3” of soil is dry.
@The Green Thumb Gardening Channel I will see if that happens. Good luck. and have a good day.

It is obvious that you know nothing about pineapple plants. I have been using this same method for about 10 years and it works every time.
Do you have any more pineapple plants left? 🪴
