Fantastic tip thank you! I managed on a hot day to do the same thing for $1 with a garbage bag, some water and the hot Sun. Left the wetted and bagged sashes on the driveway in the blazing Sun for a few hours, the putty went from granite to butter. Game changer

You can though a infrared tool like a speedheater Cobra would work better for in place deglazing.
