and those who dont want to waste 10000s of cash to get latest gpu every 2-3 years and why they should be getting ps5 pro instead of building over expansive pc ? if they only game but if they do other things with pc then its a different story

Here in the UK, the disc drive costs £100 and the vertical stand is £25. Total of £825 (about $1,083) just for the console!
Then there's the PS+ cost which is £60/year for essential, £100 for extra or £120 for premium. And there's also the fact that new games cost £70.
Depending on which PS+ tier you go for, you could be talking £1,000 ($1,300) FOR A CONSOLE! At that point you may as well just put that money towards a new PC.

Consoles used to hold a good value proposition at one time but now that we know how much a PS5 pro is, its not so much the case anymore. When you look at the price of the console, plus a disk drive, one game, etc, your hitting the thousand dollar and beyond mark and thats no even including the subscription you need to pay on top of that so you can play online. I can find used gaming PC.s on market place in my area with 3 series and 4 series GPU,s for the same amount, or even cheaper. In my opinion, its better to wait and getting second hand or find a used standard edition model if you want to go the console route.

Here in Australia, the PS5 Pro plus stand (sold out here), and disc drive (also sold out here), would be a bout $1350 AUD or $905 USD, keeping in mind, our prices include all taxes. However, I'd suggest, Sony knows, similarly to Apple and Nvidia, people will be happy to pay those prices for the latest and greatest, so whilst they may not be aiming at the average gamer, I'd suggest they're aiming at the enthusiast FOMO type of game.

I fucking love the honesty with your channel sponsor 😂. Legit RUclipsr right here! We all got bills to pay no hate. FWIW I built a $1,600 Intel PC last year. I’ve been victim to the instability issues of my i14700k, and driver/software issues of my ARC A770. It was brutal, after about a month of issue free gaming no regrets. That said, my PS5 is rock solid, no issues. Granted, I could have made a more cost effective PC build that was less cool looking, with more performance, for about $1,300. So basically, unless you’re willing to drop 2x the price for a PC, console is the way to go. But yeah, If you can afford to build a $1,500 PC, don’t mind trouble shooting, and really want that extra 15-20% FPS/Graphics quality upgrade, then go for it. If $2,000-$3,000 isn’t a lot of money to you, then PC no question.

So you built a rig that had a chip with known issues, and console is better because of it? Your only advantage in console, and I mean only, is the fact so many people think, like you, that you have troubleshoot PC all the time, so they buy consoles. No hate, but that's because you picked a bad cpu, and a gpu in development. You'd have been fine if you built an AMD platform, and it would have cost you less.
When you say "built", do you mean selected from drop down menus on an SI's site? On no continent do you have to spend 1500 USD to build a computer capable of beating this Zen 2 bottlenecked, 30fps locked, microtransaction laden pocket emptyer. You don't even have to spend 700$ if you buy used, you can find plenty of rigs that stomp this thing's specs!
Your gpu/cpu combo cost 900$ at peak, you spent another 700$ on the platform... to have it fail... it's okay to make mistakes man, but don't cry about getting roasted on cross platform play by kids on GTX1060 cards with 1080p screens with that PS5. They're better prepared for it than you'll be, simply on controller latency alone... never mind proper ports not broken by PSN. 15-20% better graphical fidelity? Lol... this makes me wonder if you've ever actually used a good pc, on a good monitor. There's no comparing the two... it's fine if you like Sony, M$, Nintendo... whatever, just stop trying to tell people who can play better quality versions of everything consoles do, in one place, that these crapboxes are better in any way. Consoles are the iPhones of gaming, made for people with no patience, or interest in dealing with computers. Again no hate, it just is what it is.

I wonder what ps6 is going to cost. Is it going to be like 800 usd because ps5 pro is already 700? And thats without disc drive mind you and keep in mind another reason some people prefer consoles over pcs is physical copies of games. With time they are getting less and less benefits over pcs. Back in the day consoles benefits over pc were: a lot of exclusive games, much cheaper, physical discs that you could just pop in to console and play straight away without needing to install or download anything. Now you have to install and patch games even when you have physical copies which are slowly going away even on consoles, there are barely any console exclusives anymore and now with the ps5 pro price it seems like the price of consoles will eventually be almost close to a price of a pc. So at this point I dont even see a point in console since they dont even have benefits over pcs they used to have anymore.

For those that say why not just get a PC, well I have a good PC (CPU) for work stuff and I can just upgrade the GPU and I should be set. But, I'm an adult with kid and at my current age, I like doing work stuff in my home office (not anywhere near my 65" TV but I do use a 42" 4K screen) and play stuff in my living room or bedroom. This PS5 Pro will replace my launch day PS5 in the living room and my OG unit will go to my bedroom attached to another 65" TV.
One thing that playing on a couch in front of a big TV that you can't get playing with a PC at a desk is family spectating and couch coop. Yes, you can have a PC attached to a big screen in a living room but not all of us want to go with the logistics involved (in my case) and the hell am I going to be tech support for family when they want to play and I'm working.
Another thing about PC vs PS5 Pro, I'm a patient man with games but when it is a game /franchise I really like, I ain't waiting 1-2 years for it to show up on PC.
For the next Xbox though, that is another matter. I have both XSX (living room) and XSS (bedroom) and because of the existence of PC GamePass, maybe a new GPU in 2027/2028 will make more sense than the XSX replacement.

Pretty sure it was confirmed that the PS5 pro uses RDNA3, so I don't think you are correct about the 6800 being used. It's a hybrid generation GPU as the raytracing is RDNA4 tech. We'll know for sure in November, but it's probably just shy of 7800 xt performance but with a few extra tricks.

    This launch has proved:
1 - That PC building youtubers do not know how to build PCs.
2 - That the tech press and youtubers do not know how a CPU works (it is not 1978).
3 - That the tech press and youtubers do not know how a GPU works (This is not a Wii).
4 - That PC building youtubers do not know how a PC or a Console work.
5 - That when you give people exactly what the want (And will not shut up about) they will say that you are not listening.

@@ErockOnTech When you build a PC the main components either the CPU of the graphics card should determine the amount of ram you have.
With a PC you do not have the ability to program any hardware directly apart from the CPU. So windows will decide what is done with the physical memory and even the graphics drivers have no influence here.
To have a graphics card work efficiently you need to be able to mirror the VRAM in system RAM so you will need to have at least double the VRAM in order to actually have the chance of fully utilising the GPU.
Without this there is an increased chance of stuttering and of visual artefacts.
Building a PC with 16GB or RAM and a GPU with 12 GB of VRAM means that you will only have 4GB Available to the engine if you get the best outcome but as often as not Windows will limit your ram so that you effectively only have 8GB of practical VRAM.
If you have only added 16GB of ram and are then considering add a GPU with 16GB of RAM ...
I have seen at least 5 systems with too little RAM to guarantee efficiency and a lot of the systems that were sufficient in this regard never took this into account and came close to making this mistake.
This is not the only error I have seen but it is a major one as it can guarantee poor performance.

  • @sirnick2608

I have to say that upscalers on consoles is not something new, even right now on base PS5 and Xbox Series FSR is being used on multiple games. Prior to FSR existence PS4 had checkerboarding and dev studios had their own upscalers like Insomniac's temporal injection. Pretty sure upscalers were also used during PS3 to bring games to 720/1080p, but all these console upscalers were and are software. What's new to PS5 Pro is custom dedicated hardware for PSSR which even Mark Cerny mentions in the presentation so similar to DLSS (we'll have to see how the quality is but DLSS got better over time too). Same goes for frame gen. Right now on base PS5 Black Myth Wukong uses frame gen on the performance mode. Other than that great video btw.

  • @paulc5389
    @paulc5389 5 дней назад

PCs only real problem is the studios that refuse to use Steam. Besides cost and exclusives the main reason people buy consoles is ease of use from a sofa in front of their TV. Steam can do this which is great when you're only using steam. But those other studios are popular and pissing about with different launchers and having to use a keyboard and mouse is not user friendly to the use case consoles are typically used for. PCs could do with an Xbox mode that let you use them as if they are an Xbox.
One massive thing to remember about PC is if you purchased a brand new one now whilst it might cost more everything except the GPU should last years if you game at 4K on a TV. So your next gaming "machine" is just a GPU upgrade. And its easy to sell your previous card. If you do total cost of ownership between the 2 over say 5 years, PC is cheaper. The playstation sub over that period is something like $700 just on its own. Not to mention PC gives you access to gamepass.
A $1500 PC now when it comes time to upgrade will cost you net around $300 if you go midrange. The cost of the playstation sub over around a 5 year period alone is enough to upgrade your graphics twice assuming you sell your previous cards.

So you are effectively recommending it.
    I mean,seriously?
    At that price?
    5700X cost about the same.
5600 and 5600X cost some 30$ or so less , yet they crush 3700X with strong enough GPU.
7700X@1440p may not need anything better and at 4K especially , but even so.
At 1080pLow(for competitive games)7700XT might require stronger CPU for maximum fps .

Its pretty clear they didnt want to make base PS5 look too bad in that presentation 😃 thats the big seller afterall and Sonys own games happen to be ones that already look great on base console. There will be many 3rd party games that will have huge improvements in image quality. Why didnt they mention PSSR applies to all existing games that are under 4k resolution i will never know . Anyways i have to say its not so black and white overall.. there is absolutely huge audience out there who will never want to or care to build a pc that cant be understated. Also as a "livingroom" box console is just so much more convinient than PC . I know you stated your mindset which is cool but there are soooo many people out there who only see their perspective and completely fail to understand not everyone thinks like them 😁
