This guy plays similar to how I play(kind of back of sights, passively always slow to rotate, usually last alive, etc.) this really helped me out because I've been trying to figure out how to be more active in a game without just throwing.
To be fair IF YOU HAVE 4 PEOPLE ON B SITE ALREADY and they get mowed down that isn’t your fault. You should absolutely be anchoring a at that point. That’s a team diff and a gg go next. I don’t bother rotating when I’m last in rotation.

Ya once you get past the confidence hurdle of believing in yourself and that it's possible for you to win gunfights, the game gets a lot easier. I think for me it was practicing basics of shooting in the range then winning a gunfight against a higher elo player. Then you realize it's not so bad
I will say moving the trip foward there is actually pretty good in one situation imo, when you are matching the cypher lurk towards A and I think I forced him off, I will throw the deep trip and then rotate, in ONETWOTHREE's defence I have seen s0m do this specifically also in this scenario

Sage just revived. She was playing for the kill not the plant that’s why. She plays res there expecting to bait the res for the kill. Almost 20 seconds is an eternity to make that kind of play. You have to know when to play for time and when to play for the kill.

Don't you think that playing cypher on A is trolling? Because enemy can easily come ramp and then they can do bad things, so better fight for A main with some duelists+iniator+smoke deep, like on lotus. Cypher should play B as it has only 1 point to come, like C on lotus.
You can always split between tripping A Main, cage ramp or swap it around while having the cam looking directly above A Main to identify the rush. When I play cypher pistol, my normal setup is 1 trip, 2 cage, light armor. A classic is more than enough and his utils are quite handy. Of course some players go one cage, one trip, and a ghost which works also. Caging Ramp to Heaven is a simple task as if you identify a rush, you time how long it would take for the enemy to get there and cage appropriately and if you're solo on A, definitely cage and don't hold on to caging to let your teammates fight as you need to control that area to allow your team to come in.
You underestimate the strength of anchoring a site. They can have heaven all day long. Bomb still needs to get planted. Have fun digging a cypher out of a site w two cages and 2 trips and a a cam somewhere. If he has an Odin even better. And the fact you think it’s trolling is telling that you haven’t had your teeth busted by a good cypher. I say this because I do it on harbor and viper and it’s equally as annoying. Eventually they have to come out of heaven to plant. You don’t want viper molies on site or at entry or hell as you drop out of heaven. And if you push screens I can tuck in that corner and pre fire. In high elo you will see two people a. One site and one heaven. You aren’t taking that site from a viper or a cypher without a fight.

If you go to a server say like Virginia that leaks out to New York and Canada it’s far more challenging than say Georgia. I noticed being forced to play on Virginia and Illinois has slowed my rank up to gold but it’s made me better overall. My mechs are way sharper than they were before. So if this guy only plays on the server he has low ping on and he plays a rat agent I could see how he moved up because the game takes more rr from you the more you die. If he gets 5 kills a game and dies twice he’s getting more rr than me playing smokes and going 14 and 17.

I main cypher and i feel like i'm playing a lot better around my setups than onetwothree but also have worse gamesense than him and my aim is worse(because i had 2 months break from val and lost the skill) still i think i have same problems as onetwothree- being afraid to peek, doing stupid decisions, and not communicating when i want to peek with my team

As a silver cypher player, I have exactly this issue. Some rounds I don't see people or I rotate too late and its a 1v5. Some games I will win purely because my team win their duels but other games we can't but at the end of the day I don't take enough gunfights so I am going to try aim train more

Hey hooj, thanks for your vids and content, literally went from bronze in Episode 6 to hitting plat 1 right at the last minute in episode 7. Been using your get to gold content to help coach a friend too who’s worked out of being worse than a bot in iron 2/3 to already pushing bronze 3 within 3/4 weeks of semi-regular play.
I think one key thing to remember here, is it’s okay to not rotate immediately if you know it’s a default or a slow round. I play harbor and I’ll anchor A on split all day long if my sentinel is b site knowing full well if it’s a sage or a cypher they’re probably going to rotate off that hit and try a mid lurk. I didn’t see many slow rounds here but In my silver gold lobbies it’s common to get frozen out of b main by útil and then hearing the rotation and leaving. I don’t know how some of these clips of higher elo play look like this because I’m constantly eating raze nades off rd starts, omen smokes, sage slows, there’s jets in main holding angles and dashing back. I don’t understand how this is diamond at times because I constantly run into opponents playing the game correctly. Even in silver I find myself having to mid round and finding teammates with mics doing the same. Yes are their lobbies with noobs? For sure. But most of the time at least one other person has a mic. Shit I hit a site the other day on split and there was a Skye in the choke flashing us on entry and I laid her out after she killed jet and then got immediately traded by cypher on site. That was 3 deaths in the first ten seconds. And when I watch VCT you literally see the same trades. This game is supposed to be chaos.
The best part is that i coped with the "i thought we were gonna peek" and also really tried to guess timing with team, both a lot. I really needed to hear that, because come on, know one can read my mind, i should give call to fight before swinging like this, cuz now i can call on my teamates for not fighting together lmao

I main cypher and i feel like i'm playing a lot better around my setups than onetwothree but also have worse gamesense than him and my aim is worse(because i had 2 months break from val and lost the skill) still i think i have same problems as onetwothree- being afraid to peek, doing stupid decisions, and not communicating when i want to peek with my team

As a silver cypher player, I have exactly this issue. Some rounds I don't see people or I rotate too late and its a 1v5. Some games I will win purely because my team win their duels but other games we can't but at the end of the day I don't take enough gunfights so I am going to try aim train more
I always get the elo inflated, scared of fights, Cypher on my team who is just completely useless

I completely understand his mentality though like “let them run into my setup first they literally can’t plant if it’s on site”

Hey hooj, thanks for your vids and content, literally went from bronze in Episode 6 to hitting plat 1 right at the last minute in episode 7. Been using your get to gold content to help coach a friend too who’s worked out of being worse than a bot in iron 2/3 to already pushing bronze 3 within 3/4 weeks of semi-regular play.

I think one key thing to remember here, is it’s okay to not rotate immediately if you know it’s a default or a slow round. I play harbor and I’ll anchor A on split all day long if my sentinel is b site knowing full well if it’s a sage or a cypher they’re probably going to rotate off that hit and try a mid lurk.
I didn’t see many slow rounds here but In my silver gold lobbies it’s common to get frozen out of b main by útil and then hearing the rotation and leaving.
I don’t know how some of these clips of higher elo play look like this because I’m constantly eating raze nades off rd starts, omen smokes, sage slows, there’s jets in main holding angles and dashing back. I don’t understand how this is diamond at times because I constantly run into opponents playing the game correctly. Even in silver I find myself having to mid round and finding teammates with mics doing the same. Yes are their lobbies with noobs? For sure. But most of the time at least one other person has a mic.
Shit I hit a site the other day on split and there was a Skye in the choke flashing us on entry and I laid her out after she killed jet and then got immediately traded by cypher on site. That was 3 deaths in the first ten seconds. And when I watch VCT you literally see the same trades. This game is supposed to be chaos.
The best part is that i coped with the "i thought we were gonna peek" and also really tried to guess timing with team, both a lot. I really needed to hear that, because come on, know one can read my mind, i should give call to fight before swinging like this, cuz now i can call on my teamates for not fighting together lmao

Can someone explain why is 3:20 is strike one? Looks to me like he whiffs and then uncommits from the gunfight to hide behind cover while shooting to maybe get a lucky kill. Is the problem that he didnt hit his shots?
