In the first episode Malcolm talks about how childhood eventually ends and how you are free from your family but as he admitted in his valedictorian speech you are never truly free or on your own. It was a nice call back to the first episode.
The only lois in my family is my father. He always likes to stick his nose in other people's business. Especially mine. for some reason the scene with Dewey and Jamie really touched me because it was as though Dewey was being the brother to Jamie he always wanted it just seemed so sweet
I guess Dewey was trying to be the older brother that he always wanted cause both Reese and Malcolm treated him badly so I guess he wanted to change that with Jamie
The Secret Service Definitely not lol. Being a brother myself, even if you act like you hate each other and fight every day, there’s no other person in the world you’d rather have at your side.
Zhake Ija I bet Malcolm would do the same. Both Malcolm and Francis has had a girl tell them that they are obsessed with their mother. Maybe not Reese and Dewey.
Well no one is sitting near them because a scene or two before this they’re at home getting ready for the ceremony when a septic tank poop bomb Reese has built blew up on them
It's interesting that Malcolm's last interaction of the show is his phone call with Reese. Even though they fight a lot, in kind of a dysfunctional way Reese is probably the family member Malcolm is closest with. Wish they would reboot this show btw
I think one of my favorite things about this show because the characters actually repeated clothes and outfits, fitting in with the tone that they aren’t rich, unlike a lot of other sitcoms
I remember the episode where they were sorting donated clothing and they noticed that the donated clothing was better than the clothing they were wearing ... amazing show😊
@@saludsinfiltros6854 The way he changed his quote to Paul Mccartney because she said so and talked about family showing he finally realized and appreciated all she'd done for him.
@@Ray_D_Tuttoalso offscreen before Malcolm and Reese said goodbye to Hal and Lois they said to them no matter how much trouble they made over the years they'll always be family through thick and thin Hal confessed to Malcolm that when he learned his son was a genius he felt inferior and saddened like he wasn't good enough to be Malcolm's father but Malcolm comforted him Then after Malcolm and Reese left, Lois and Hal though the former denied it repeatedly she shedded tears and so did Hal
I loved Hal’s face when Francis was explaining his new job. He went from slightly disconcerted about how he explained it all, to a sense of relief when he finished with “I LOVE IT, I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT I LOVE THE STABILITY…” and it was just so heartwarming when they started laughing together about spam emails ❤️😭true father son bonding
Francis was just as big of a character as Malcolm. He had his own story lines centered on him on the show. Except for the episodes where he reunited with his family but other than that every episode he had his own story the show focused on. It was like two different stories in one episode.
@@H81234 this is one thing I always loved about the show - there was always a few different stories revolving around all the family members in each episode - wether it being one of the parents, the 3 younger kids or Francis' own stories, it was all great.
He was my favorite too but he became less relatable and no fun in the later seasons he was a different person pretty much went from wild rebel to sober office worker
@tconlon251 Sadly for us his fans. But good for him, he was an mk ultra child from the beginning. Tmz talked to him recently on the streets a year or two ago and he said he had no memory of filming any of Malcom, but that he enjoyed watching it.
Michael Reynolds Frankie Muniz was born in 1985. Mk Ultra was mostly in the 50’s and 60’s and not revealed to the public until 1975. There is no way he could have taken experiments on. He had a stroke.
I wish they had Malcolm talk to the camera in the final scene just before he went to class. The last time he does is at the beginning of this episode when discussing that they're not sure how to pay for him to go to Harvard. The last time Malcolm talks to the audience should be memorable. I guess that did that for his graduation speech though. But it still would've been nice for him to talk to the camera just one last time. Like, him saying his thoughts on everything that's been going on for the last three months and what else he thinks might go on in the future. Like how he and everyone feels about another baby coming.
Good point. To be honest having watched the series all the way through again. I have to say this final season really fell by a long way. And don’t get me wrong. I absolutely adore MITM. But the last season really didn’t live up to the rest of the series, and even in this final episode. Some great parts. This scene being one of them. But I feel like this should have been a two part episode and fleshed it out a bit more. There wasn’t much of a story. The nuclear option was a great idea but again it wasn’t fleshed out much and was over pretty quick. I don’t even know what the reason of Reece with the huge barrel of sewage was about. One second it was the nuclear option and the next he’s doing that. But yeh. That’s just me
@@HenZoid93 This definitely would’ve been better as a two part episode. But I guess that depends how many episodes this season FOX allowed. Just like how they gave a certain number for Gotham’s final season which made it feel too rushed. In addition, I don’t like how Reese became a janitor. He should’ve ended up working at a restaurant.
I just wanna point out that this entire episode is an exact mirror of the pilot, Pilot - "around being smart is just like being radioactive" In the finale the entire family is radio active lol Pilot - Lois makes Malcolm do something he really doesn't want to do (join the gifted class) because she knows it what he needs. In the finale she makes his pass the big job because she knows its best for him The finale and the pilot both end in the same music I love this show man
If it did happen, this is what I want to happen: -the baby is actually a boy and is worse than the previous boys and luckily for Hal and Lois, it's their last child -Francine and Piama have kids and they resemble Malcolm's family -Reese actually becomes a head chef -Dewey becomes a famous world class pianist -Jamie works at some low collar job or something but is doing well -for the unborn child, since it's 20 years later, he's at college -for Malcolm, well, he... doesn't become president because he does not want Lois forcing him to go with the career she ordered him to be. Instead, he quits college because he's too smart and actually goes for his dream job. Lois is furious, but one day she is extremely sick and because the family was extremely poor, they don't have money to pay for her life saving operation, but that's where Malcolm saves the day, he saves her by paying for the operation out of pocket and she lives. Lois finally gives in and lets Malcolm keep his dream job and everyone is happy. I know it's not brilliant but let's just say that Lois should think twice before forcing Malcolm to go to a career she wants him in
Some people think Jamie’s a girl since it’s a unisex name and when they announced the gender at his birth the ambulance sirens censored it and since everyone uses male pronouns to address him he’s a boy
At 2:28, Piama is wishing that Francis would just tell Lois that he has a good job but Francis wants to make Lois suffer. He doesn't want to give her the satisfaction of knowing that he's doing exactly what she would want him to. It's his way of paying her back for all the suffering she put him through. Since he's legally an adult, she can't punish him and he's enjoying it!
I really hope that nobody else is sitting with them cause they smelled bad and not out of hatred. This family has gone through enough. Especially Hal and Lois.
Never fails to get me. The ending, shows that the family is growing up and starting their own lives but despite all the crap they throw at each other they still deeply love one-another. This will forever be my favourite American sitcom.
I love how proud Lois is of Malcolm during his speech. There are bonds between a father and son, mother and daughter. But there's a different kind of bond between father and daughter, and as seen here mother and son. That's what makes this scene so heart-warming in my opinion. A mother seeing her son grown up and fully capable of taking care of himself.
This was a very well done series finale. Not overly sentimental or killing off anybody, moving away or births. Just the family still being a family but the boys growing up and Hal and Lois' plans for them coming to fruition. I Also love Francis being petty and keeping his new job from Lois lol the relationship came full circle.
As horribly Lois treated Malcom Reese and Dewey, she still in the end was just showing them that no matter what they did or what trouble they got themselves into, she will always be there. She just never showed it the proper way...
Tbh those were the boys from hell, especially Francis and Reese lol but Lois had to be domineering or else they'd walk all over her. That's what a mom in a house full of men has to do. And tbh she's a much better mother than hers lol leaps and bounds.
Bruh she didn’t treat them bad lol I rewatched the show as an adult now and they were all some bad mofos. They’re lucky they didn’t get whoppings and just got the creative punishments that Lois came up with. She was a good mom imo. I mean she worked, cooked, stick up for her kids when someone tried to treat them bad, and always gave them good advice especially to Malcolm. Watch the ep when she gets revenge on all the girls who humiliated Reese.
Even as a kid I thought those kids tended to get off pretty easy. They got yelled at and grounded. The most rebellious one got sent to military school. That's...light. And for the crazy things they did, those kids earned those punishments nine times out of ten. I would have loved for Lois to be my mother.
kendall rivers this show gets to me, my mom raised 3 boys by herself working all the time and stressed, I felt like malcom some days, “why is she like that” “she’s angry all the time” and now that my brother is a lawyer, the middle one is a forensic and I’m attending school for criminal psychology And all I can think looking is back is that we would never be here in this position if it wasn’t for her, thank god I realize this and I’m still able to see her every year ❤️ sorry guys I was on my feelings lol
People complaining that Reece didn't become a chef ...did yall not peep that Reece baked a cake for Craig? Reece just chose not to make a career out of his passion/hobby He's a simple dude that didn't need much to be happy.
One thing that's really worth pointing out is that it's one of the few handfuls of times, maybe the only time Malcolm has stopped whining and complaining and actually was able to appreciate his life and family.
As someone who recently went from retail work to an office job, I understand Frances perfectly. I get to sit on my ass in an air conditioned office, drink decent coffee from my own mug, I get nearly double any pay I've had in my life, and I get nights and weekends to myself where I'm not too tired and sore to do anything.
Well, it's his fault, they wouldn't have another baby if Hal just didn't have intercourse with Lois, so I don't see why he's upset, it's all his fault, not having kids is like the easiest thing in the world, just don't do it
growing up as a kid and watching this show you don't really understand the gravity of some of the scenes, but watching them now as an adult, you really feel their everyday struggles
If Malcolm in the Middle was still going on, the sixth child would be about 12/13, and Jamie 15/16. Hal and Lois would still be putting up with the same shit they had since the early 90s.
1:54 the way louis smile it made me happy she was proud that her son is all grown up. i agred with malcome, we will never be alone no matter how far we travel we are always together 😃
This show was just too good, everything about their lives and how they changed was just great, I remember being exited and planned my day around the episodes, even the reruns lol
I know he's had health issues but I agree, this show should be brought back. Not with Malcolm as President but his path towards it. First episode should show him mopping the last floor he will ever mop and then becoming part of a major company, climbing up, and finally becoming president in the final episode of the second series. But the speech Lois gives him in the final episode of the first series should be the blue print: he works really hard, he wants people to like him and they just keep looking down on him. Then, we see him learning there's more to life than showing people you're the smartest person and we know he will be the greatest president in US history, maybe world history.
According to the wiki page, two things were supposed to be shown in the epilogue that I would've liked to see. 1. Piama is supposed to be 3 months pregnant. Obviously she and Francis wouldn't want Lois and Hal to babysit, but would have to let it happen if they can't find anyone else. 2. It reveals that Lois and Hal end up having twin daughters named Ariel and Kaylie making their lives an even worse hell, especially Lois in which it was worse than what she envisioned on what having daughters would be like. With them focusing on the twins, they ignore the trouble that Dewey and Jamie cause. If we ever do get some sequel/spin off series, I would like to see Francis and Piama as parents and I would like to see Ariel and Kaylie. It's amazing that Hal and Lois end up having 7 kids total.
I hope this show gets a sequel. Malcolm being married & a father to a genius child & he would be controlling that child just like Lois was with him. Now that would be awesome.
I love malcom in the middle, it shows a lot of funny stuff, but it also shows that time passes, and everything just has to end, but it helps us not see it as something totaly negative
So what happened to all of these characters after all these years? Well.... Hal and Lois had two more kids and are right back where they started when the show began. Hal now cooks crystal meth to support the family. Francis and Piama had 3 kids and have become the next Hal and Lois while their kids are their own Reese, Malcolm and Dewey. Reese lived with Craig for two years until he accidentally blew up Craig's house. He currently resides in the Janitor's Closet where he works. Malcolm did what Lois told him to do and ran for President. He won and his first action as President is to evict Hal and Lois for making him run for President in the first place. Dewey gained a scholarship at a Top Music School and went on to have a rich and successful life. Only Jamie sees a sum of Dewey's money. Jamie learned much from his brothers. He is up for parole in 4 years.
2:59 it was at this moment Hal decided he needed a new dust filter for his Hoover Max Extract Pressure Pro Model 60, disappeared from his neighborhood, and started a new life in New Mexico, where he would marry a tall blonde, become a chemistry teacher and part time car wash employer to make ends meet, and become one of the most notorious drug dealers of all time
@@alexanderkeenan7578 Well i noticed that first, lol maybe my comment got lost in my own sense of humor, i thought it was funny that father and son were doing it because they looked like they were doing something shady
I wanted to not like the final episode, but rewatching it it's so sweet. Reese and Greg are the best of friends now and have something consistent in their life for once. I mean I still feel bad for Hal and Lois tho, but I have so much feels re: Reese and Greg's friendship lol.
Comfort show, best show ever, love this family, my favourite US sitcom family Also loved reading everyone’s great comments, realisations about the show and love for the storyline
I've been watching this series for the first time (never heard of it earlier for some reason, I was very young when this was aired in my country) and it's actually really enjoyable. I'm currently watching the 3rd season and overall this seems to be really interesting despite just showing a life of an average poor family. My favorite characters have to be Dewey because he's extremely hilarious and whenever I see him on the screen, he's just marvellous and Francis, because despite his poor attitude and behaviour, staying away from his family kinda changes him for the better, and he's also not afraid to stand up for himself or for anyone, I could easily imagine him in the middle of a strike. I kinda wish there was a 8th season in which we get to know who Lois's 6th child is, what happens to Malcolm, Dewey and Jamie after uni and school (a.k.a. what job they will get), will Reese finally get a wife (and kinda wish he became a chef instead of a janitor) and what kids would Francis have (aroumd 5 to 10 years after MITM) Some questions left unanswered imo but it was still great while it lasted.
1:04 He was about to say Malcolm. Someone cuts the microphone 🎤 and Malcolm’s family were the only ones who applause 👏. 1:07 I see the man was applauding and the lady stop him. That’s not fair for them.
They should make a follow up show set like 10 years in the future where Dewey is like Francis (barely appearing since his actor no longer acts), Jaime is like a smart version of Reese and the youngest child is like a dimmer version of Malcolm 😂
That would be awesome but I don't think the actor wants anything to do with the show, he didn't go to reunion there are rumors on Reddit of what happened behind the scenes
It was so heartwarming seeing Lois in tears of joy watching Malcolm do his speech. Francis didn’t get to graduate, so this is the first time she would see any of her kids graduate. Just imagine if Dewey becomes valedictorian and he does his speech. Lois will be proud then too.
So offscreen Malcolm and Reese departed on good terms with Hal and Lois unlike Francis telling them both no matter how much trouble they caused they'll always be family through thick and thin,
@@TheDarkwingj It's really great to see when this family has happy moments with each other on the show. Someone needs to create a compilation of some of their most touching and fun moments with each other.
I swear to God my 13 year old self I watched the episode for the first time in 2007 and Piama was pregnant. She looked like she was at least 6 months pregnant and she wore a blueish gray dress.
Sixth and seventh actually. I read that they end up having twin girls named Ariel and Kaylie who make their lives and even worse hell causing them not to notice Dewey and Jamie’s mischief.
I grew up with this show so the final episode honestly had me pissed off for years. But looking back its really one of the best ways an epic show like this can end. Life moves on and there's nothing epic about it. It just is. And it's great.
He should have been in the Special Ed class since Dewey didn’t want to be a Krelborn so had him take that test for him. That’s why Dewey ended up there.
Back then you could repeat grade, now they just don’t give you a diploma and make you go to summer school or consider you a dropout and have to get a GED
LittleArmyNut my guess is that once Reese and Malcolm left for good Dewey finally got his bed to himself and Jamie probably got Reese's now that he's old enough. The unborn kid would definitely get Jamie's crib.
I had finished watching the entire series on Hulu right before 2020 ended. At first I didn't want to watch the last 2 or 3 episode because I knew after that, the fun ride would be over. No more seasons. But I mustered up the strength to finish it all. Once I did however, I felt the same feeling I did back in 2006. A bit of sadness, an empty hole in my heart, and uncertainty of the future of how I would continue on without it. Same way I felt when Buffy, Angel, and especially That 70s Show ended. Heh, funny how a show can make you feel that way after growing up watching them and laughing out loud.
Offscreen after graduation, Hal, Lois, Dewey say farewell to Malcolm and Reese as they leave the house, No matter how much they fought over the years Hal and Lois this time though they didn't admit it hated to see them leave to begin the next chapter Lois had a talk with Malcolm as he finally realized what he had to do to become president not only wanting the best for people like him but for himself too leading to a moment where Lois opened up by saying she felt like she wasn't good enough to be his mother cause of how smart Malcolm is feeling inferior cause he was smart and she felt she wasn't but Malcolm assures her in some way she is smart and they share a touching moment Also Hal felt like he wasn't good enough cause of how smart Malcolm was either so Malcolm now accepts what he has to do what Hal and Lois think is best for him so Malcolm decides to work to become president the right way
For any newbies here, that mike glitch was deliberate. They went out of there way to never, EVER mention the family's last name. They screwed up a bit early on when Francis had a name on his uniform but that could easily be passed off as Francis stealing someone else's. In house, they were called the Noname family.
Macolm is janitor and goes to Harvard because there is not enough money to pay for his schooling? Is Reese still in the military, even though he is a janitor??
The paradox of the show is that it works because they're kids: an age where it's cute (or at least acceptable) to make mistakes. As adults, their immaturity (insanity) would come off just wrong. If any movie were made now, it would have to follow the thread left with the mom's line "You're going to be the best President ever because you're going to be the only one who cares." It's a tall order. How do you decide where they'll all be 20 years later? And if everyone's an adult, you can't get away with as much as a bunch of kids could. While the finale left a sour taste in my mouth (Malcolm is still generally screwed from every direction), it did the job to close it out at least consistently with the premise of the show. i.m.h.o. Best show ever though.
What scenes would you guys like to see me upload (could be from anything)?

It's interesting that Malcolm's last interaction of the show is his phone call with Reese. Even though they fight a lot, in kind of a dysfunctional way Reese is probably the family member Malcolm is closest with. Wish they would reboot this show btw
Yeah. Malcom wasn’t only his brother, but one, if not only best friends. Throughout the show it’s brought up that Reese is actually very lonely

Makes sense for all their fights they still grew up together and played together u can’t do that without developing a brotherly bond

I think one of my favorite things about this show because the characters actually repeated clothes and outfits, fitting in with the tone that they aren’t rich, unlike a lot of other sitcoms
I remember the episode where they were sorting donated clothing and they noticed that the donated clothing was better than the clothing they were wearing ... amazing show😊
Bruh I wear the same clothes all the time
I consider myself poor, buying new clothes every week would be financial suicide

Wouldn't it be cool if we found out that Lois finally had a girl? She has always wanted a girl but kept having boys.
Hopefully this one will 😂

I know, I meant that if we found out from the show's producers/writers that the baby was a girl, it would be cool.
people think jamie may be a girl but hes identified with boy pronouns so jamies a boy
They did have a girl and named her Holly.
One of the best finales ever. Seems the entire show was building to it.
Yeah I know too bad they could do a spin-off 😑😔
Dewy realizing he is the older brother now and getting to mastermind the situation, it's cute.
One of the best final episodes of any comedy. Completed the story, had a little heart, all while still staying true to the original vibe of the show.
I agree. This show was my childhood. I miss it to this day.

Hal confessed to Malcolm that when he learned his son was a genius he felt inferior and saddened like he wasn't good enough to be Malcolm's father but Malcolm comforted him
Then after Malcolm and Reese left, Lois and Hal though the former denied it repeatedly she shedded tears and so did Hal
I’m just happy Francis got a happy ending. He was always my favorite
Same, he was my fav too
Francis was just as big of a character as Malcolm.
I think Reece living with Craig is the best ending. Craig never had a wife, but now it looks like he has a son.
Aww
They need to do a throwback bit of them in the Malcom in the middle universe as adults. Favorite childhood sitcom
@tconlon251 Sadly for us his fans. But good for him, he was an mk ultra child from the beginning. Tmz talked to him recently on the streets a year or two ago and he said he had no memory of filming any of Malcom, but that he enjoyed watching it.
@@michaelreynolds7469 MK ultra kids? what?
uhhhh he had a stroke man what the hell you talking about?
Michael Reynolds Frankie Muniz was born in 1985. Mk Ultra was mostly in the 50’s and 60’s and not revealed to the public until 1975. There is no way he could have taken experiments on. He had a stroke.
@tconlon251 what happened to him
I wish they had Malcolm talk to the camera in the final scene just before he went to class.
I just wanna point out that this entire episode is an exact mirror of the pilot,
Pilot - "around being smart is just like being radioactive"
In the finale the entire family is radio active lol
Pilot - Lois makes Malcolm do something he really doesn't want to do (join the gifted class) because she knows it what he needs.
In the finale she makes his pass the big job because she knows its best for him
The finale and the pilot both end in the same music
I love this show man
They used the same song for the first and last episode .

If it did happen, this is what I want to happen:
-the baby is actually a boy and is worse than the previous boys and luckily for Hal and Lois, it's their last child
-Francine and Piama have kids and they resemble Malcolm's family
-Reese actually becomes a head chef
-Dewey becomes a famous world class pianist
-Jamie works at some low collar job or something but is doing well
-for the unborn child, since it's 20 years later, he's at college
-for Malcolm, well, he... doesn't become president because he does not want Lois forcing him to go with the career she ordered him to be.
I know it's not brilliant but let's just say that Lois should think twice before forcing Malcolm to go to a career she wants him in
Hoping Lois finally got that girl.

I got goosebumps when Lois looks so proud of Malcolm. They dont fckd up the end like many other series.
Lois got pregnant again though
She did not treat them badly. They were always in trouble. She was doing her job as a parent.

In the two parter “Reese Joins the Army,” the surname on Reese’s ID tag says “Jetson.”
Robert Kidd Carl Cornell he used a false surname
One thing that's really worth pointing out is that it's one of the few handfuls of times, maybe the only time Malcolm has stopped whining and complaining and actually was able to appreciate his life and family.
As someone who recently went from retail work to an office job, I understand Frances perfectly. I get to sit on my ass in an air conditioned office, drink decent coffee from my own mug, I get nearly double any pay I've had in my life, and I get nights and weekends to myself where I'm not too tired and sore to do anything.

Please, no more reboots..m
Poor Lois. Hopefully she'll have a girl this time.
With Lois's luck, the girl would be an even bigger troublemaker than her five older brother. At least in my headcanon.
One of the best written comedy shows of the 21st century.
Lois face right here is everything 1:57. What an epic show and an awesome final episode.
I just realized that at 1:07 a guy behind Malcolm's family starts clapping at him, but the lady besides him made him stop
The guy tried to be nice, but the lady told him, "we hate them remember?"

I kinda wish there was a 8th season in which we get to know who Lois's 6th child is, what happens to Malcolm, Dewey and Jamie after uni and school (a.k.a. what job they will get), will Reese finally get a wife (and kinda wish he became a chef instead of a janitor) and what kids would Francis have (aroumd 5 to 10 years after MITM)

He had to repeat 12th grade, theres am episode on it.
at the end of season 6 he failed the final exam so he repeated the senior year

Offscreen after graduation,
Hal, Lois, Dewey say farewell to Malcolm and Reese as they leave the house,
No matter how much they fought over the years Hal and Lois this time though they didn't admit it hated to see them leave to begin the next chapter
Lois had a talk with Malcolm as he finally realized what he had to do to become president not only wanting the best for people like him but for himself too leading to a moment where Lois opened up by saying she felt like she wasn't good enough to be his mother cause of how smart Malcolm is feeling inferior cause he was smart and she felt she wasn't but Malcolm assures her in some way she is smart and they share a touching moment
Also Hal felt like he wasn't good enough cause of how smart Malcolm was either so Malcolm now accepts what he has to do what Hal and Lois think is best for him so Malcolm decides to work to become president the right way
For any newbies here, that mike glitch was deliberate.
Reese living with Craig is my favorite, them being roommates is inherently funny
