Hey guys! Sorry about the video quality. I had some lighting issues. Don't worry! Better video resolution coming up next week! :)
Also, please do check out my music channel and let me know what you guys think of this classic cover! :) 👉 ruclips.net/video/SdxPq1hZ0EA/видео.html
Look for the video "The Mercurotti" from your fellow countryman Marc Martel.
Please consider first time hearing Joey & Rory "When I'm Gone". Very powerful, true to life for these two. I think you will enjoy and appreciate the story & the music. (tissue alert)
It looks more like a dirty camera lense, might be worth giving that a clean also, fantastic videos btw, look forward to them all the time!
Keep up the good work!
I'd live in a country even on a string budget. Why? Because I want to understand how a society functions. Luxury is a bore intellectually, as viewing things afar that superficial experiences really are. I've lived in three foreign countries, sometimes half poor. I know what I think about this.
Like when you live in Italy, where Pavarotti is from. There are not even the structures to live a life in the US or elsewhere. It's a system designed for a totally different life. Only when you talk to the people will you understand why.
You should listen to Caruso from Pavarotti... Here's the link... ruclips.net/video/iDEdZfnULIg/видео.html
He is quite possibly the greatest singer of all time.

You have that right and the right to be just as proud of the incomparable composer of quintessential Italian romantic opera, Giacomo Puccini.

You are offending others such as Bocelli
A once in a lifetime talent. If Pavarotti hasn't made your eyes water you aren't human.
I've listened to this song thousands of times, and it still brings tears to my eyes each and every time I hear it. The greatest voice ever.
There are singers. There are musicians. There are performers. There are Icons. Then, there is Pavarotti! The Master!
Well sead .
It's Luxury not lugsury!
You just heard the voice of probably the best Tenor of the end of the 20th Century singing one of the most beautiful arias of the musical genius Giacomo Puccini. This is why the music directly touched your heart. It really barely gets better than this!
He has gone even above Caruso. He became the master and the bar for tenors.
Pavarotti captured my heart the first time I heard him and he held it for 30 years. He is my choice for the greatest singer of all time. The warmth, intensity, control, and emotion in his voice are sublime.
Have you listened to Dimash Kudaibergen? Not saying I disagree with you, but that guy’s range is unreal. If I listen to this alongside the best Dimash performances, I’m like “damn😥😬” lol
This guy was one of the most incredible opera singers in all of history. I saw him in Lima, Peru, a number of years ago and will never forget it.... pure magic! His voice is so good; you'll never hear another like him.... ever. Thanks for reacting to this, it and your reaction were great!!
Actually the one that are even better is Called jussi Björling. . Pavarotti Said himself that he is something else.😍🙌🏻he is crazy. Listen to him?
Oe q, vino a Perú??? Xd
You just experienced one of the most sublime voices of all time. No one else compares. I hope you'll listen to more of his performances.
Caruso could, The song sung by Pavarotti named "Caruso", is about him... People would go hungry and buy tickets instead just to get to hear him sing, people wept.
You misunderstood the conductors behavior: he actually waited for Pavarotti to end his phrase and halted the Orchestra, so that they wait for the master, before they go one. So in this moment it‘s actually Luciano „in command“ of the whole orchestra, via the conductor.
exactly
Well said, thank you.
fermaaaaateeee!
No way dude this was all the conductor lol. Pavarotti wouldn't know what to do without him🤣 jk. Sorry lol.
100% correct. The orchestra is accompanying the singer and it's the conductor who must follow the singer and Zubin Mehta does it perfectly.
It's from Turandot. Read the story behind it all. The power is because he's feeling VICTORY coming!!
The story is an emotional one. Prince calaf at this point was cocky passionate and besotted wasn't he
The "C" of Luciano must be pronunced like the C in "challenge".
He's Italian, not Spanish. 👍

Pavarotti: Wipe your tears little girl, welcome to the Earth...🌿
Oh yes. Those are the most tear wrenching 3 minutes in music's history.
Puccini was a genius. Beyond.
He's a successor to the 1st recorded "greatest Italian tenor ever", from early 20th Century, Enrico Caruso. Caruso was so good that even on scratchy, crappy old recordings his voice was still stunning.
You are correct! Caruso also had a more powerful voice than Pavarotti or Anyone! Also better acting & breath control! How do i know? Check out the Caruso Museum in Brooklyn NY. People who heard Caruso & than compared him to the 3 tenors said No Contest! They're all dead now
Caruso sounded like absolute garbage to me sorry . Some of you have legit shit in your ears .

Loved your reaction. He was the voice of God on this Earth.
Also, the conductor was not directing Pavaroti, he was directing the Orchestra only.
He was directing the music to the timing of Pavaroti's singing so that his high and low notes would correspond to the Orchestra's music timing.
He is so missed what a gift he was to humanity The maestro
One of my all-time favorites. Pavarotti could connect to anyone, no matter what their background or their preference for music, when he sang, everyone was held in place to listen. This song always brings a tear to my eye when I hear it. So glad you've gotten to experience it as well!
I loved this man. He is a treasure. I love all music, and I've heard Luciano sing Nessun Dorma at least a 100 times. I choke up every time at the end of his performance. How powerful. I loved your reaction to this man - I KNEW you would not believe how good his performance would be. It was a sad day when he died.
He conveys so much emotion through his voice, you don't even have to understand what he's saying for it to move you.
In regards to your question, I'd stay in one country for a year--then at the end of the year liquidate my assets and travel the world in luxury.😎
The very best tenor to ever have lived and here he is singing the epitome of tenor arias. Flawless, with power and passion as only this man could achieve. His expression at the conclusion shows just how moved he was to share his gift with all who would listen. Bravo & thank you for sharing. In the future, you should play the performance in it's entirety before commenting, just saying :)
And this unfortunately happens when people encounter real music and "bel canto" for the first time. She discover here the great Luciano Pavarotti, the legend, as a "new artist".
And then interrupting Pavarotti while he performs is an offense for him, for bel canto and for the real music.
@@aris1956 I too found her interruption "too soon". She really needs to go back and listen to the entire song without interruption. Or better, watch the whole opera to hear it in complete context.
This is where you hear a soul singing.
When you listened to Pavarotti, you heard the very best. I’m a man of a certain age, and I can tell you he is the best operatic tenor in my lifetime, maybe for all time.
I'm not an opera lover but this is mindblowing. What an emotions i experience every time i see it.
It truly is amazing how a human can open his mouth and produce a sound like that. There are many great singers in the world, but Pavarotti is right there at the top, if not right at the top.
The emotional side of the singer's performance really got to me. I wasn't expecting that. Sure it was inspiring and beautifully sung,
and there is grandeur about the performance but it somehow had me close to tears at the end. I can't explain why.
He Is and he Will be Forever, our pride ,.....proud to be Italian, when i listen Pavarotti......💓
The rest of the World thanks Italy for sharing their son with us.
...and of course, the incomparable Giacomo Puccini
@@tomburke9955 of course...😁
Puccini wrote some of the most beautiful and heartfelt Arias in his Operas this being one of them. Couple that with having Pavarotti sing it, magic!
He was one of the greatest opera singer in the world. I am not an opera fan but I witnessed some of his songs during my lifetime.
You perfectly described the difference between a real singer and the emotions he can bring out of you! Bravo, he just happened to be one of the best singers ever! That last note he hits is a monster often tried but most fall short..
What's so impressive beyond his performance is the very end when he hits his final astonishing note & then takes it even higher with clarity that is supernatural.
Luciano is in the zone. Possessed by the hand of God. Look at his eyes just before he closes them & then his mouth. He isn't with us at that moment. He's within the music.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee - Eric -- he performed enough times live throughout his career with famous singers, conductors & orchestra musicians to confirm that he could sing live.
If he resorted to some technical assistance later in life, especially when he was ill, so be it. It wouldn't be the first time someone was "helped" to get through a performance.
He certainly never needed autotune hocus-pocus like so many so-called "divas" rely on today.
And the opera audience? If you fake it with them your career goes into the toilet real fast. You know what I mean.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee - You are right about that, eric. But, after all, the human voice is human. It can fail you. Artists do have bad nights.
It's the people sitting in the audience who never understand how hard it is to do what Luciano did.
They expect to hear him as perfect as the recording. Maybe that's where they should be -- at home listening to the CD.
I try to be forgiving when it comes to a live performance, except when it's blatantly shit because the singer was drunk or unprepared.
For all we know Luciano may have been ill, had a cold, sore throat, and ate cold macaroni. I have heard lesser singers sing flat, especially people like Robert Plant.
That performance of opera by Aretha Franklin more than a decade ago when Luciano took ill & didn't perform was barely passable. And Aretha is a great singer -- but she's no opera singer.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee- I do understand when Aretha was asked to do this she was visibly nervous. Amazing when a performer at that level gets butterflies. But, she knew she was not in her comfort zone but probably wanted the challenge.
I give her credit for being brave enough to step forward & do something she wasn't really prepared for. But she's a pro. Most opera aficionados of course appreciated her effort but it wasn't without criticism. That's probably what Aretha didn't want to face. I don't blame her.
Vince Gill faced the same situation live & talked about it when he was asked to perform a Beach Boys song -- "Surf's Up."
Gill admitted that he thought the song would be one of their simple beach songs but "Surf's Up," he said was an incredibly difficult song to sing. He was surprised. But Gill pulled it off just like Aretha had.
Audiences have to realize that singing songs not part of your repertoire is not an easy thing to do. Look how many great singers have covered Elvis songs only to go down in flames.
I couldn't do it eric.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee - That's my point eric. You have to listen to it in mind that this is a great singer from another genre but not an opera singer. Accept it.
But the opera buffs are not as forgiving as rock, folk, country & blues audiences. (I left jazz & classical out because they can be pretty strict & constipated as well).
Yes, I was aware she sang it 2 days before because they must have had hints that Pavarotti would cancel. That was a wise alternate choice by the producers.
Turandot is the latest opera from Puccini! He died writing this opera from cancer treatment (his heart couldn’t take it !) it is very emotional! I have so much respect for him as many did after he died out of awe for his greatness! His deep emphatical and emotional insight in our struggles fear love and desperation makes him a translator of our journey through life ! A warm companion, a loyal friend who went through it all and confides this with us
I have to pause this over and over. Never seen this before and my body wasn't ready. He didn't care who was watching him sing, he didn't sing for us, he sang for the vocal gods lol.
Never pause music, rather listen to it multiple times.

I had the honour of seeing him in concert many years ago. I cannot begin to explain the feelings stirred in me when he sang, and this song literally laid my senses wide open. My favorite!
Pavarotti was unarguably the best operatic tenor that has ever lived. He was truly unequaled. You said that his voice was powerful. How true. No one could match is power! Believe it or not, Nessun Dorma is a love song. His undying love for her.
Pavarotti is great and he also was in Amsterdam in his youth! This makes me proud because he is truly the most emotional singer ever ! His voice comes straight from his soul ! This is what moves you ,
There may never be another voice like his!! So pure an so strong!
I wouldn't say that I'm an emotional guy but listening to this I feel the power and genius. Truly awesome.
He was the Master. Everyone was amazed by him.He was to Opera what wet is to rain. Your reaction was like most for their first time hearing his tremendous voice.😊👍
"It's a trap!" Opera is a wonderful trap....
You mean Conductor instead of Director. You just checked out The Maestro! He may be gone but his legend will leave on. Some consider him the GOAT meaning Greatest of all Tenors. 💜
There have been two tenors in the last 120 years, Caruso and this man, Pavarotti. What you just heard was a masterpiece.
When you are in the presence of genius, of true greatness, of high art...you cry. You can't help but cry. Please react to more Pavarotti. btw The guy directing is the conductor - Zubin Mehta in this case.
Opera usually gives emotions...tears..I get chills every time with Luciano..amazing
Look at his eyes, still full of emotions after singing... ❤️
Those tears are the power of opera to touch every part of a person's being.
Opera combines all of the arts, drama, acting, singing, dancing, costumes, set design, and comedy. The conductor is Zubin Mehta, who on a snowy wintery night, when his flight was cancelled, my dad, a NYC taxi driver, brought him home for dinner. He whispered to me that my father knew more about music, than many of the professionals Zubin has worked with. This made me proud. My dad came from Poland, and was raised in a home full of culture and music, especially Classical. Sadly, due to the Holocaust he, being Jewish, was not allowed to continue his education, and only 4 people out of a huge number of aunts, uncles, and cousins, brothers and sisters, survived
"I love discovering new music" This was written almost 100 years ago. Quality will always last. The greatest tenor of all time.
When Luciano sings, the surroundings go still and the heavens open up.
Incredible range! The director is called the conductor.
Orchestral musician here. Enjoyed your vid!
To answer your question about the orchestra - the *Conductor* is the baton-wielding bloke on the podium (in this concert, the veteran Maestro Zubin Mehta, who generally helmed these “Three Tenors” events).
And yes, as the central musician who basically “plays” the orchestra, much as we play our instruments, the Conductor’s job is to lead, convince, and compel the ensemble to play the piece as the composer intended it, as the Conductor interprets it in their head, and as the other collaborators (like Pavarotti here) would like it, as well.
Mr Mehta knew Pavarotti very well by this point, so they worked together as freely and easily as Jazz musicians, and you can certainly feel the electric results.
Enjoy your musical travels!
😎👍🏻
He never disappointed 😢 the crowd he’s one best singer of all time
This is not a song, not just music, it is an aria from the last act of the opera "Turandot" by Giacomo Puccini, one of the most famous and difficult to perform arias in the tenor repertoire.
Luciano Povarotti is an opera legend who has shone on the world's best stages for decades..first reaction..where this world is heading ((
To experience the incalculable talent of Pavarotti, is to be not only in the presence of the man, but the very rare times you are able to hear his soul singing.
You've been touched by the voice of heaven (Luciano Pavarotti). Congrats on joining those of us who have listened to this amazing Puccini opera, especially as performed by the one and only , Luciano Pavarotti, for decades. The "conductor" in this performance is the great Zubin Meta.
He has made millions cry! Going to the opera is a wonderful experience.Turandot was the first I ever went to, which this is from. This is one of the most famous operatic arias. Schnell, I miss your reactions to Pentatonix. They've released some new stuff I think you would like.😊
Hit her heart about 4:15....gives me joy to actually see this happen. Someone said, watching Pave sing his signature piece, nessun dorma is like taking your first ride ever in an automobile, in a Rolls Royce. Coach Hoot
It was a phenomenal performance. Many people don't realize that the orchestrated conductor follows the tempo and timing of the performing singer and not the other way around. That's why you see the conductor pause a bit waiting to conduct the orchestra. It's really an amazing connection they share.
Omg, DONT stop, it's an affront to any kind of performance opera classical music Shakespeare, rock and roll, anything artistic.

You've just listened to the greatest tenor of all time.
A composer is a man who imagines all this happening 100 years before it does. And then writes it down so it can.
This is from the Three Tenors concert, a lead in to the FIFA World Cup of 1990. The conductor is the great maestro Zubin Metha and he is conducting TWO orchestras. At the end of the concert, as part of the encore, Pavarotti is joined by Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo for an even greater rendition of this aria with the three great voices combined. The concert was performed in the very atmospheric setting of the Baths of Caracalla in Rome and the live audience around the World was estimated at 800 million. The recording of this concert is in the Guinness World Records book as the highest selling classical music recording.
he was 60 years old in this performance ,he's not a man is an angel
Line of command:
God
Jesus
Pavarotti
And God lends his voice to Pavarotti when he needs it.
AGT contestants and a cappella singers give this their best shot all the time. Some are "okay." THIS is how it's done. THIS is perfection.
The big difference with pavarotti was,he was able to touch your soul with his voice. The second he hits those notes (with perfection) and so effortless. Look up another tenor, doing the high notes in nessun dorma. You can tell, they have to really reach deal and force it.
Luciano didn't have that issue, it sounds so natural . It chokes you up, goosebumps , hair raising .
That ladies and gents is not something you can fake. There will never be another pavarotti.
The last verse, gets us all every time. Unbelievable
You should watch "The Three Tenors". You will enjoy it.
Luciano entered into the meaning of the music and the story of the opera and truly sang from the heart, thus the reason you could understand what the music was about even if you didn't have its translation. His voice was so expressive and beautiful that he could draw you into anything he sang. He was a master and my personal favorite. Not surprised at your reaction to this piece, and I think a person would have to be totally void of feeling not to be overwhelmed at this performance. Glad you loved it!!
You get emotional not just from the music, but from watching this master performers reactions as well.
This man sang from his heart and soul.
It's my belief that in every genre of music there are songs/performances which transcend the genre itself, and this is one of them. Even those who do not normally (or ever) listen to classical vocal music will be moved by this performance -- it is beyond amazing!
Of course, there are other vocal performances of the past which similarly transcend their genre and touch our hearts at a deep level. For example, there is "Hurt" by Johnny Cash, "Sound of Silence" by Disturbed (official music video), and maybe one of the most amazing pop musical performance is "Unchained Melody" by Bobby Hatfield (specifically the "Righteous Brothers" live performance on the 1965 Andy Williams show -- Bobby is wearing a salmon colored jacket). These recommendations are not new to the reaction video community -- they are probably the most reacted-to videos on RUclips. Another "sleeper" for the emotional impact of the singer and lyrics is "The Story" by Brandi Carlile (official video).
And another amazing song for its emotional impact is "Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche.
I hope you can eventually cover the ones mentioned above if you haven't already, and thank you again for reacting and analyzing this out-of-this world performance by Pavarotti.
Great suggestions
What always blows me away about Pavarotti is how anyone can tell, just from the first note, how brilliant his voice is.
Every single reaction video I've seen (and I'm slightly addicted to them) has had that "whoa" from the second he opens his mouth. Something about the power, beauty and control he will go on to show throughout the song is audible immediately, even if (like me) your ear is totally untrained. For him to start from such a high point, and then just keep escalating, is truly astonishing.
You just discovered One of the Master pieces of all time!

I agree! Spectacular isn't a big enough word to describe his performance. His expressions are absolutely stunning!
Kind of surprised you've never heard of him.
Me too! I'm almost 50 and grew up listening to Pavarotti; it never would have occurred to me to recommend him, because I always assume everyone knows who he is. It's a different world now....

@@michellewestlake6766 I just watched another reactor--a Brit who supposedly has a start-up record producing company--watch Pink Floyd for the first time the other day. And another young guy who watched Queen for the first time. They were like, "wow, these guys are good!" LOL. It's all music I grew up knowing and thinking was like, super important, so it's very odd to watch younger generations who are involved in music themselves who haven't heard it. Then again, I'm pretty out of touch with what the "kids" are listening to these days, so I guess I shouldn't talk....I'd be considered a major stick in the mud.
Seriously girl, if you've never heard this, you need to broaden your musical horizons. Quite possibly the greatest of all time.
Every time and everywhere from any device and channel, Pavarotti makes the world smell like hope, like spring, like home. He was the highest and he was among us, his people... He was the people! He was and he is, and he always will be Italia.

He was the best. A Legend forever. Great Reaction
You just listened to what was, arguably, the greatest performance of all time. Pavarotti was the GOAT. If your eyes didn't water and the hair stand up on the back of your neck and arms, you have no soul.
If you want to experience more opera that leaves you speechless: aria of the queen of the night of Mozart‘s Zauberflöte (The magic Flute)
Nice choice. Also the Flower duet (Delibes) or Dvorak's "Song to the Moon".
Poor people who don't get emotional when he sings. Nuff said!
LUCIANO PAVAROTTI was one of the greatest tenors of the 20th, and early 21st. century. The things about opera to understand is that it is an intersection of talent. Some of the greatest composers in history created the music while some of the best musicians of their time played it and singers performed it for the public.
This is where entertainment for mass consumption began because it combined the elements of theater, acting and music in one dynamic package long before technology brought us recordings and film. It is still popular today because it tells a story in a very personal, human way.
If you enjoyed this you might want to sample other operas as well. A fun way to get your feet wet would be listening to one of the performances of the three tenors, which were put on by Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras did in the 1990's. They were amazing concerts!
THE Maestro never sang better than this. Divine!
Advice: NEVER STOP THE VIDEO. NEVER. You speak when he is not singing anymore
I usually only make it to the ,"No, no" bit before I start with the tears and my nose is running. Pavarotti was only called away because God wanted his voice back.
I am moved to tears every time I hear this - God bless Luciano. R.I.P.
God kissed my vocal chords, said Master Luciano Pavarotti.
There are Mozart in Classical Music, Tesla and Leonardo da Vinci as inventors, Einstein in Physics, Maradona as Football player, MJ as Basketball player etc and there is One Big Luciano Pavarotti as Lyric singer! ❤️
