They are truly a weapon of horror and along with the chainsword a perfect example of the Grimdark. 75 cal, armor piercing, high explosive, self propelled round. More akin to a small rocket than a bullet. The sound of them is iconic to the lore, which is why us fans get a bit annoyed when games get them wrong. Space Marine 2 soon! MMM sexy bolter sounds. Thank you for bringing it back I love General Mastina he's the man! As of course are you my friend! All hail Lord BALDEMORT !!
That really does show the difference between the Guard and the Space Marines, lore-wise. Mastina nearly lost simply because of numbers over a period of weeks with probably somewhere between 100,000 and 300,000 green Guardsmen. Likely less than a full company (100) Space Marines take the planet back in twenty minutes.
When you began describing the dedicated, attentive way Mastina’s friend crafted the Bolt Pistol, I got chills. The first time I ever fired a MK19 grenade machine gun loaded with live shaped charge armor piercing grenades I giggled to myself and remarked out loud to nobody in particular "This is literally a bolter" and my training sergeant who overheard replied "The emperor protects." Turns out the USMC is thoroughly saturated with WH40K fans.
Bolters are magnificent! Lots of people complain they make no sense but God Emperor help me I love them! Proper Bolters, not these new Prime Anus rifle rubbish. Whole lot should be burned
General Mastina has more composure than I ever will......it would take Oggy and his entire squad to pull me off said Ethnarks mangled corpse if anyone dared propose I "kiss their other ring"
Slight correction for our bald fellow. Im not sure on the lore as I dont recall right off but the weapons that feed from a flexible linkage like astartes heavy bolter backpacks normally do not have a belt. The rounds are forced into the linkage by a motor which keeps pressure on them allowing them to feed correctly. I have seen a few enclosed linkage systems use belts but most are just loose ammo as disposing of the links in the weapon requires a delinker, a component known the world over for jamming all the time. If its possible to reduce that chance it would be taken. IIRC the majority of american miniguns use belts in linkages and if you stop firing you must let the assembly stop then spin it again, fire again without doing so and the delinker jams requiring disassembly to clear.
Sooo, Roy Batty's geneseed actually survived and he is an Astarted now? I did not think this was possible, but I love Warhammer 40k just a bit more now than I already did. _'I've... I've seen things you humans would not believe...'_

I got a few good laughs from this one--more than normal. As a former Soldier, I can fully understand where General M was coming from.
Man, the way you tell these stories cannot be competed with.
IMHO that music can only be played for the mighty Bloodspears. I can't tell you how much I loved that vid. Good to know the lads are well. Blessings on your house baldy.
Mastina and his Blood Spear allies! Emperor knows I love them so much
This is my favorite one of your little side stories! Always a powerful image of friendship, a true light in the grim darkness.
When Bolter-mort speaks, xenos die - and we are entertained. It''s a cruel world.
I have never been so happy so giddy to listen to you talking about the divine vengeance of the holy bolter delivering death to the traitorous heretic the horrid mutant the vile unclean and the evil Xenos. Thank you baldermort for making my day while I paint and build my models you truly Brighten my day with this invigorating videos thank you for being kind and caring to us in our darkest hours and to provide joy to all thank you so much.
You set up that entire scene with the etharch fantastically. The noise I made when he started cleaning off the other guy cannot be described
Ooh goody! Explosion time!
I never realised before - but the bolter has a Picatinny Rail mount on top! Damn, that must be a great system if they are still using it 38,000 years from now!
Adaptability is humanity's trait to resist change.
Every time I visit this story it brings a tear to my eye. You are a masterful story teller.
i need a whole general Mastina playlist. These 2 story's ive heard about him and the chapter master of the blood spears has been my fav of any in the setting. Thank you so much @baldermort
I absolutely love this episode of Baldermort 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Thanks brother Uruhara. :).
Ofc brother Baldermort no thanks required after all your power armor video is what brought me into this wonderful setting👌🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Out of all of your vids, this is the one I have continually come back to. The writing is supurb and inspired, well done!
The first time I ever fired a MK19 grenade machine gun loaded with live shaped charge armor piercing grenades I giggled to myself and remarked out loud to nobody in particular "This is literally a bolter" and my training sergeant who overheard replied "The emperor protects."
Turns out the USMC is thoroughly saturated with WH40K fans.
10ga automatic shotgun with a shell firing a rocket-sustained projectile with an armor piercing delayed fuse explosive tip.
I want an IRL version.
Bolters are magnificent! Lots of people complain they make no sense but God Emperor help me I love them!
Proper Bolters, not these new Prime Anus rifle rubbish. Whole lot should be burned
I love their relationship, great story man, awesome video!
General Mastina has more composure than I ever will......it would take Oggy and his entire squad to pull me off said Ethnarks mangled corpse if anyone dared propose I "kiss their other ring"
Chills and a Tear in this son of Vulken eye
13:25 The Field of the Cloth of Gold. Nice touch
That intro is just a 40K bedtime story. 😂
Tell us another, Papa Baldermort!
One of the few channels i dont skip the ads
First thought: Hell yes!
Second thought: FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
In the Age of Technology, it was a DIY tool for Dry walling on a Dyson Sphere.
I just realized Mastema is the name of the Egyptian Angel of Death. This makes the chapter founding video that much more baussome
I’ve never heard such an enthusiastic raid add and I fucking love it
That was the best RAID plug I have ever seen. Love it, and the story that follows
Intresting somehow in my mind bolt guns were more like a railgun😶😶. So thanks for the info
baldermort for the win
So happy to hear more about General Mastina.
Sooo, Roy Batty's geneseed actually survived and he is an Astarted now? I did not think this was possible, but I love Warhammer 40k just a bit more now than I already did. _'I've... I've seen things you humans would not believe...'_
Attack ships ablaze off the arm of Orion……
@@baldermort Just came from work, found this... you've just turned a stressed out, annoyed into a very happy, grinning nurse. :)
Thanks for your work, finding a new video from you always lightens up my days!
