I'll be honest, I didn't realize the first time playing that you couldn't just whistle back Pikmin after they are sprayed by Groovy Long Legs, so I had to reset after many casualties. I really can't fault Vern for that one as I'm sure many other Pikmin players learned that fact the hard way.

They also can get crushed if flattened by an elemental crush, like a scorchcake's fiery side.
