I want to say I understand. My ministry partner of 7 years have chosen to say things about my wife and I to leaders of a different ministry, one of which my wife and I were going to join after resigning from our current position. It’s been a hard 7 years working with my ministry partner and when I got married, it didn’t get any easier for my wife and I to work with my ministry partner.
He met with me and my wife, along with our pastor and I thought it was to patch things up with what has been going on but he just pointed out things he said we were failing at as a couple and a ministry partner. He’s not married either. Of all the years we’ve done ministry together, I always planned our schedule out months in advance and I always initiated meetings. No effort whatsoever on his part. I, respectfully responded in defense by giving evidence of what he was saying weren’t true or were old issues that were supposed to be resolved. This meeting was maybe 3 months ago.
Now, I’m in the process of praying to God and asking Him for wisdom to share with my ministry partner the things he said that really hurt my wife and I that he thought he needed to share with the people we weren’t hoping on transition ministries too. We were so hurt that we decided not to join the other church ministry and our pastor suggested for us to step down for now and confront my ministry partner and be truthful and honest with how I’ve been feeling. Pray for me.

I’d love to hear this more on the path of reconciliation because a lot of people think unconditional forgiveness leads to unconditional reconciliation. I am a huge advocate for confession and repentance leads to forgiveness and reconciliation. You see this clearly drawn out in the Gospel where our contingency to be reconciled with God is through faith in Jesus. Christ humbles us to know the truth of our sin and shows us grace when we choose Him over our self.

Google the Hebrew philosophy of forgiveness. There's plenty of information out there that breaks the idea down in much greater detail.
Something I've personally found helpful in understanding biblical literature is the realization that the moral law was written by a people in a culture and a time far removed from our own existence. So one can hardly empathize with it from a modern mindset.

The Bible is written by God through people, not by people in a culture long ago that wouldn’t have anything to do with right now in fact, so many things in the Bible have everything to do with right now they just use different wordage and verbiage

Is it bad I chose ... "loneliness " than anything. I so tired of forgiving. Just feel so drained by this man and the lies, drinking, sorry's, manipulative victim cries, and the well I tried. He asks me if I want to give the marriage another chance but leaves only one option. The threats if I leave are nauseating.

Not always, if they’re just going to lie and repeat doing the same things over again. People like that say they’re “sorry” when they just want you to be with them, no matter what they think, say, or do. But, they don’t know what they thought, said, or did that was wrong onto you. But say sorry just so that you will talk to them again. Be cautious of how a person says they’re “sorry.”

Based on how God treats us. (time: 4:50)
    God ignores us.
God does not talk to us. (quiet whispers that we can't hear don't count as talking to us.)
God keeps allowing bad things to happen to us over and over again and one thing after another.
    God made people disabled!
    This is nuts!
    God is nuts!

Pastor, Jesus asking for that drink was a very critical part of his sacrifice. He took that “cup” of jealousy and bitter water so that the Northern kingdom of Israel could enter back into covenant(Numbers 5:11-31).

  • @johnhammertron
    @johnhammertron 9 месяцев назад

    (time: 9:27)
    Meekness.
It doesn't sound like Pastor Mark Driscoll knows what meekness means.
(I'm basing this on what Dr. Jordan Peterson said about meekness)
Meekness is having a weapon and knowing how to use it, but keeping it sheathed and being peaceful.
(Dr. Jordan Peterson said it was either mistranslated or the meaning of the word has changed over time.)
Perhaps there are many things in the Bible that we don't truly understand because things have changed or been corrupted over time.

There are some people I don’t want a relationship with! lol! They rendered me and came back and rendered me again. I forgive them and I never want to fellowship with them again. I did everything I was supposed to do biblically to give that man a chance to reconcile, but he would not. I had to come to the conclusion that some people are wolves disguised as Gods people. Church folks are some of the hardest people in the world to admit they sinned against their brother. We think of sin as rape or being an axe murder and that’s true but so is maliciously lying and starting untrue rumors, attacking your pastor’s integrity, and destroying his reputation. If you are going to be a man- you must admit when you sin against your brother and own the consequences otherwise you are no man at all.

Men tend to forgive and tolerate a lot before we start to demand compensation.
Women and children by comparison tend to hold everything against and demand revenge immediately.
Also forgiveness does not mean freedom from consequences in life just freedom from final consequences with God after life.

Are you going to cut away portions of the Living Word of God bye ignoring and cutting away the written word of God take your interpretation of the word and apply it to other verses in Scripture that won't hold water based on your interpretation we can go to the altar no matter what and never be concerned about our brother having o u g h t against us because your interpretation of Father forgive them they know not what they do doesn't apply to everything we do many of us know what we do when we willfully sin Eve was deceived Adam knew what he was doing Judas knew what he was doing

How was Jesus merciful to his enemies around him while he was being crucified?
Sure, he didn't call an angelic army to obliterate everyone there.
However, did Jesus invite all of those people into heaven after they died?
It seems more likely that after they died they were judged and then sent to hell.
    How merciful was that?
The end result looks to be the same any way.
At least with an angelic army coming to obliterate them they would have had actual proof that Jesus was God.
That actually would have been better.
Maybe in the last milliseconds of their lives they could have repented and asked for forgiveness.

@@donatello9482 His children were stolen by th foul behavior and schemes of the mothers family even though the mother of his children wanted to be with him? And th legless systems and adults in her life stand by idly?
Yes I remember when he totally came back in revelations with a forgiving tone, all evil must be opposed
We just don't kill, but christ didn't say to not spit on th grund of thoe that reject the gospel and violently dismissive of God
You all are forcing people to bare YOUR cross, not our own, and it's not helpful...or editifying
The humility of the individuals to the word of God is whatends up helping- not th advice
Forgive all we want, to the point where the burning and altering of God's word occurs, when do we speak out?
Pitchforks aren't the goal, being th salt ot the earth and removing impurities from the body of Christ is valid, and though it puts more demand and cost on those who do, genuine rebuke is biblical
Or he would have to admit that men that don't do these things are justified and allowed by Christ to do so...
And we will be forgiven, especially if we are doing so on the issues Christ would
We don't seek revenge but acknowledging evil and abuse is paramount- or do we forgive the pastors that abuse their congregation and their children? I thought it would be better to be thrown into the see thn face God's wraith, was that not Christ
Or was he not before the father's of his people? Is he not the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob?
So he is constant from OT to NT, the NT is for those of the world that are lost- we are not to fellowship with evil, but rebuke the powers and principalities over the world
Rebuke in love is the goal, not tolerance with added steps...
      Prayer to move mountains...not molehills
Idk... I'm not vexed, just hurting with the constant guilt of wanting to speak out and deal with the situation but feeling forced to forgive those that justify destroying my love for life...
I want to forgive others, but it's just painful to have that restraint and forgiveness used against me by the law and others
Bearing your cross is a pain, but how can I endure with a relationship when I'm forced to beg for peace of mind?
It's just too much and my faith is weak...

The Bible doesn't ask is to ignore sin, but to forgive it. And we sinned against Jesus, who is God. We were born into sin, as the Bible says. So God sent His only Son for atonement. And all fall short of the glory of God everyday. But Jesus has paid the shortfall for us. And we are called to obey out of His love for us once we repent and surrender to Him. This is the love we express to Him, to lay our lives down for Him, just as we did for us.
