Thank you for a step by step rough out. Looking forward to the next video on detailing. My grand kids will love this snow man. With your instruction I know I can get it done.
Cousin Jack, it's great to see you again. As usual very creative, talented and an super-awesome instructor. (I did miss you, Sunni and your carvings). Great to have you back.
Nice and a little different. Anxious to get this guy going and think I will add additional wood to make him with a stove pipe hat. I like how you continue to stop and illustrate what you have done as well as go through your markings PLU you don’t seem to be rushing the video. Curious about left hand middle finger ring too-cheers
Thanks very much, I have always enjoyed taking my time and carving at my own speed. Fortunately, RUclips has a feature that lets viewers speed up a video if they want to. The ring is from my days as a football official. I was selected to officiate an All Star game and that gig came with a nice banquet and a platinum ring.
Awesome, you're back!!! I'm glad to see you teaching us again😁. I was wondering what type of knife you used in this video? I just recieved my first helvie, after 270 days of waiting( totaly worth it😁), and have been waiting for more carvings from you to carve. Hope to see more soon!
Thanks very much Patricia! I use a product called an overgrip to wrap my handles. Here’s a video with more information. ruclips.net/video/KIlQyOQqs-0/видео.html
Hi Brad, Some carvers get free cutoffs from the local Home Depot or Lowes. The cutoffs are scraps from other pieces of lumber. You might also look at Gene Messer’s carvings. He often cuts a little piece of tree limbs to use as a base.

Hey cousin Jack how would I make a base because all I have is 1 1/2 × 1 1/2 × 5 inch wood?
