  • Disclaimer: I'm not electrician I'm not an engineer, do this to your machine at your own risk. I was told from Everlast themselves to open the machine to get raw voltage instead of using divided voltage. They did not tell me to modify the board. By doing this you are bypassing the 100k resistor circuit. This is something that can be undone. I also lengthened both the THC and Torch on/off wire to 20ft and the USB to 16 ft. I'm not getting any interference yet and my THC voltage looks great.

Thank you very much for the video. I have had issues, with THC, for months and Langmuir support has not provided any useful information. They just keep pushing useless information. I modified the board exactly like you did in the video and it works fantastic. I was going to buy an XR but now I am going with a GoFabCNC table. Thanks again, you rock :-)

Glad it worked for you! I hear of people having problems with Langmuir's support, but Cameron has been so helpful even with rudimentary type problems that I've slapped myself in the head 🤦🏻‍♂️ afterwards.

I have the same machine and confirmed this works the way the video shows it. I would however still recommend attaching directly to the lugs at the front of the machine so you don't void your warranty. Everlast knows about their CNC port issues and they check this PCB board for modifications like in this video. If they see anything modified it will void your warranty, but if your unit is 5 years old then that doesn't matter either way. Good video!

Actually I called Everlast before I did this modification and they told me that it wouldn't void the warranty, just like hooking up to the lugs on the inside of the machine wouldn't either. You're not modifying the board you're just bypassing it. I have no worries with Everlast as if they would try and throw me under the bus like that. Their customer service has always been 100%.

I'm getting ready to wire up an 82i to my crossfire pro. Thinking of doing this mod. Is there a certain gauge wire needed? 18ga, 24ga, or ......? Is there a set number of amps passing through those pins to calculate wire size?

Sorry man just seeing this. It's just the signal so no real amperage going through there. I just use the wire that came with the XR.

Now why would you do this just curious? I had the same set up and haven’t hooked it up yet just realized today that the 82 wasn’t compatible with the xr and was looking for some info on wiring. But what does the 100k resistor interfere with? Thanks

People have hooked up straight to the pins that say that they are raw voltage and have had nothing but problems. Other people have hooked straight to the torch lugs. I think the 100K resistors are not giving a true signal. This video shows me bypassing it and making a cleaner connection to the machine. I haven't had one hiccup from any kind of interference yet.
