The married lady controls the weather. So basically, her bro comes up on her wedding and asks: "Yo sis, you nervous? It looks like rain, lol" And she immediately made a hurricane out of stress, haha. And of course everything got blamed on Bruno. Poor guy

I love how Pepa forgot she controls the weather and Bruno said it’s was going to rain cause she was nervous and she blamed it on him. Bruno even said it at the end of the movie.
In Colombia, when a person gets married, saying that it is going to rain means that their marriage will not last, and they will divorce soon. That's why Peppa got mad at Bruno. :)
If u guys noticed from Dolores to Camilo part well mainly Dolores part of the singing u can spot bruno int he background like hiding and then he kinda likes the song by shaking his head in tune

Isabella doesn’t have a good prophecy. In the latter part when dancing around Mirabelle you can see she’s stopped smiling. When nobody’s looking, it’s not making her happy. She’s got this seemingly perfect life promised but she doesn’t want this. Cause what you want as a kid isn’t what you want over 10 years later, but how can she deny this thing she should obviously want? She feels trapped.

It might be about her character development instead after she's embraced her inner life and grants herself the promised life that she wanted, especially the part where she mentions that her power will grow- she gets to create other plants other than flowers.
@@shadowlarkmoon Yoo now that you said, the one that popped in my head was the grandma, she was the one that's like deciding what life/dreams she should have, which is marrying Mariano and having a great life and all so basically the grandma was promising her the "life of her dreams" which is not really the one she wants or something, and her powers did grow bcuz of Maribel when she realized she could grow much more(big plants) than nice roses/flowers. Idk just my thoughts
Or the prophecy could still be in effect. She said the life of her dreams would someday be here. That doesnt mean now, but perhaps in 20 years.i feel like Brunos prophecy made abuela think that the marriage was going to be a success and that Isabella was going to be happy because of the prophecy. As for Isabelle it probably made her think that the marriage would make her happy even if not immediately. Brunos prophecies always seem to be a bit self fulfilling and play out weird. Dolores got the man of her dreams even though he's was betrothed to another.
Actually Isabela does have a pretty good prophecy imo. To explain further-
"He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and someday be mine" - She was not happy with the way she had been living, to be the perfect golden girl everyone wanted her to be, and in the end she was freed from pressure and allowed to just be herself. So the prophecy of that did come true.
"He told me that my powers would grow like the grapes that thrive on the vine" - I assume this was the prediction of her powers expanding and she learns that she can create more than just pretty flowers.
Her prophecy didn't seem to have any downsides at all, it was probably just everyone's misunderstanding of what the prophecy meant that they tried too hard to make her life perfect so that it would happen? Like giving her the perfect husband, for example.
When Dolores say" I can hear him now" was she talking about bruno or the person she likes. I think it could have been both because she hears everything.

I know some are arguing that Isabela didn't get the "good one" because she was hiding her real emotions and was under the mental prison of having to be Miss Perfect for her family but I think it's valid to think it is a good prophecy as well.
The official lines for Isa was:
_He told me that the life of my dreams
Would be promised, and someday be mine.
He told me that my power would grow
Like the grapes that thrive on the vine_
Which does sounds perfect and I think it is. Why? Because Bruno's prophecies don't have a specific timestamp on *when* his visions would come to fruition. While some are instantaneous like with Tia Pepa (albeit it's because he unknowingly caused her to be stressed out) and the lady with the gold fish, some took years like Mirabel. So maybe Bruno foresaw Isa's future _after_ the events of the movie where Isa's living her best life.
That's just me though 😅
I like to think they mean after the events of the movie as well because the lines "He told me that my power would grow like the grapes that thrive on the vine" and her power in fact did grow more when she realized during her song that she didn't just have to make roses and pretty flowers and could do way more. Actually when you guys said "she was the only one that had a good fortune." Her's is bad as remember she didn't want to merry and have that life. So yes the prefect life was a bad thing for her as the whole point of her story is she don't want to be prefect
i thought it was refering to her power evolving into more things outside of just roses, because she mentions her "power will grow like the grapes that thrive on the vine" her power did grow in the sense of creating more types of plants in the end of the movie, like cactus' and vines and shits. And she was very happy about it, genuenly.

just realised something when i ended up listening to this song with one earpiece on, the 2 sides of the family are separated in directionality on the sounds. the cousins are on the left her sisters are on the right.

If you pay attention in the end when they go around. Gold fish girl shouldn't be there and when she comes around. She's replaced with the hear all cousin.
Isabella wasn't happy with her fortune told to her either. Just like everyone else's, her was good compared to everyone else's, but the thing is first he said the life if her dreams would be hers, and while she lives this practiced perfect life it's not the life she wanted, and her powers never grew they where just always perfect Rose's. It's not till later in the movie in her own song does she start to live a taste of that perfect life she wanted as in a life of not being perfect. And not till she stopped trying to be perfect and embraced her sister did her powers not only grow but blossom like in the prediction and on top of that at this point of the movie she is in an unwanted betrothal
You can also notice her becoming increasingly distraught as she dances around Mirabel, verbally repeating her prophecy while Mariano reaches the house.

There were a few parts of the song where the characters were trying to express how unhappy they actually were. Dolores who loudly sings "I'm NOT fine!" at 5:30 Because Isabella was about to get the man Dolores loved.
Having never seen the movie, just discovering this song like 30 minutes ago and then seeing maybe... one other reaction to it before this one... here's what I've gathered.
I'm ASSUMING the major characters shown here are all part of one big family. The main character, a mom and a dad (I almost wasn't sure but she looks like she could be a mix of the married couple in appearance). Then there's a quiet sister. A brother. Another sister. At first I thought the "boyfriend" coming was for the main character and she didn't want to be with him. But now I'm thinking that the song was saying the quiet girl likes this guy but the guy is dating "Isabella", who I'm now guessing is "miss perfect" with the lavender(?) dress, who is a sister of the main character. The table decorating scene is what makes me think they're all the same family.
So Bruno delivered these messages to people that were obvious one way or another and they seem to think he's giving them prophecies that are more like curses. But it sounds like they're suggesting Isabella has actual freakin powers? And the brother shape shifted twice so I'm assuming he has powers? Does the whole family have powers? lol Bruno suggested that it looks like rain and and they act like he caused it. But he actually warned them. It ended up being a hurricane so if anything supernatural happened, could it be something the family did to make it worse?
Also, yeah, when I was listening to the song a second time before looking at reactions, I noticed him creeping in the background and thought it was cool and creepy. This is before I considered that Bruno might be innocent. I only considered it when I realized this is the type of song that sounds like it's recapping what we think we know about something before learning the truth about it (suggested by the main character begging for the truth in the second half, and then giving in to peer pressure and panicking over talking about Bruno. So I assume this is the wrong conclusion and later in the movie it will be corrected)
How am I doing so far? o:
Pepa, the auburn (almost ginger like woman) controls the weather... well rather her emotions control the weather. Bruno noticed how much she was sweating, as she was under pressure from her mother (aka abuela) to keep a rein on her emotions so she doesn't mess up her own wedding, however that only made Pepa more worried and like an elastic band she ended up snapping causing the hurricane they mentioned. It's also why Pepa seems to switch through emotions so quickly, literally from the age of 5 (when she and the other two triplets, Bruno and Julieta, got given their gifts) she was forced to withhold a lot of her emotions to avoid being known as overly emotional and problematic by everyone. I hope that made sense x
you're doinf good, they all have powers. except Dolores power is she can hear everyhting from a long distance around, she's the cousin, Pepa's the aunt who controls the weather and Isabella makes grow flowers and control plants. The main chracter doesnt have powers and a prophecy said she willd estoy the family and the magical house where they live (that protect them from the wave of violence in Colombia) but only Bruno knew that so he prefered to run away because nobody loved gim vecause of his prophecies.
So I saw the movie on Sunday. But within those few days I did get closer to the truth. lol
At some point I had figured out that Dolores and Camilo were Mirabel’s cousins and that Pepa and Felix were her aunt and uncle. I think it was because I saw an image of a character who looked more like Mirabel’s mom than Pepa would and there’s some dude helping set up the table that I assumed was actually her dad. Abs then I realized how Dolores and Camilo distinctly looked more like Felix and Pepa specifically. Idk. It was like a quick realization.
But I also caught on to Dolores’ hearing power shortly after this post. I figured if they all had powers, it sounded to me like she was describing some kind of super hearing. And it’s like she could hear Bruno still while he was in the background. I didn’t know that Bruno was part of the family or that he supposedly left, so I didn’t catch that it was hinting he was still around secretly til after I saw the movie.
Funny how I switched from Mirabel being with Mariano but not wanting to be… to Isabela being with Mariano but didn’t know if she wanted to be or not. She didn’t show signs of not wanting it. But then in the movie it’s revealed she didn’t. I think maybe it’s announcing his arrival all fancy like and slowly approaching like some prince is what made me think it was some kind of arrangement though.
I think that’s all I had figured out prior to the movie. When I saw the movie and heard the song in context, it was very weird. It barely felt any different because I was surprisingly close. O: But I think maybe it’s just that the song but did a really good job encapsulating everything going on. And that’s also the reason why looking at this song video alone made me abs so many others want to watch the movie. It was more convincing than a trailer imo. (Cuz I never saw a trailer for this movie lol)

Also we actually do see Isabela's reluctance to the engagement when they're circling around around Mirabel towards the end and can see the visible distress she's going through.
I would like to point out that I've watched the movie a good 5 times at the least so had the chance to hone in on more details each time
