I think there's some nuance to the concept of working 40 hours a week and whether it causes stress. Work burnout is a real thing, but it comes from working 40 hours a week on something you don't enjoy. People who work 40 hours a week on projects that they enjoy and are passionate about don't get work burnout, because it's not the activity that's unhealthy; it's the stress of being in a dead-end job and not having any time to do what you really love. Entrepreneurs don't have to deal with this reality, because they are actively building their own dreams and doing what excites them.
Hey PBD, it's 4-13-2019 and I have hit my goal that I set out to do in mid 2017. I almost quit a month ago. I've been trying to develop a hydrogen fuel cell to assist cars in getting better gas mileage. I hadn't been able to get my highly modified engine to see any gains, and suddenly without warning I went from no gains to right where I wanted to be, a 50% improvement in mileage. I might not have gotten there if it wasn't for watching your video on 10 Reasons to Never Give up. The phrase ".. their breakthrough was right around the corner" from the video has been playing in my mind almost on a daily basis. Now I feel relieved and confident to get started with the business development but will have to find a small investor since I've just about depleted my finances, but for the first time in quite a while I feel fulfilled and satisfied. I was beginning to think it really wasn't possible. And the truth is the way it works and is design it will still produce and add gains on a vehicle that already has your average hydrogen fuel cell that everyone else makes (theoretically). I haven't tested it, but I know it will. The truth is, if it's doing 50% on my Jeep... it's going to do way more on a normal factory engine, especially since 90% of them are smaller than my engine. In the words of Borat, I am very excite!

Credibility score.. so important I learned the HARD way you can not FOOL yourself. you know if you are not reaching your goals, life desires, etc. WORK WORK WORK in order to be a expert 10,000 hours 8-10 hours a day every week would be 3.5 to 4 years to become a expert. Great book Patrick. I had a crummy week (delays in product, finances, family situation) and I spent Sunday recomposing myself and read this cover to cover. The whole book was wonderful but your story in the last chapter really stuck with me: "There will be days where you may question your capacity to finish what you started, but keep in mind that you're a lot closer thank you think you are. Embrace the times where you have no clue what to do next." Those words lifted me up from the bottom and I told myself keep going no matter what. See you at the top.
FYI, in regard to working like it's the 1880s: I'm in school teaching from 8:45a-3:45p (7 hours) every day, but if I'm not putting in 3-7 additional hours every day (with 3-6 more hours over the weekend), then the next day is not a quality experience for the students. I don't get paid for overtime, but it is there. (See the chart at 9:32 on Education) When you do the math (salary vs time in prep, time in class, and required extracurricular activities), the hourly rates of most really good teachers are at (or below) minimum wage.
I didn't even know about Patrick , Mario or Valutainment until a couple of weeks ago. I have spent countless hours watching Patrick I've been doing the work. The Ultimate Questionnaire. Bro used my own self talk today had a confidence set back and hurt like hell I suffer with depression, anxiety and psychosis and normally it would put me out for weeks but sucked it up had a little talk to my self told my self to stop thinking about it sucked it up now got my self volunteering for oxfam I used that and got something better now can gain skills for my work life and business life, growing thicker skin your right it does work fight for what you want thats how winners are made
I am struggling because my dream is insane and I've got the commitment but I skipped a step somewhere and its grinding me up. I won't let go but this is insane, insane enough that the energy has proven itself

Great book Patrick. I had a crummy week (delays in product, finances, family situation) and I spent Sunday recomposing myself and read this cover to cover. The whole book was wonderful but your story in the last chapter really stuck with me:
"There will be days where you may question your capacity to finish what you started, but keep in mind that you're a lot closer thank you think you are. Embrace the times where you have no clue what to do next."
Those words lifted me up from the bottom and I told myself keep going no matter what. See you at the top.

FYI, in regard to working like it's the 1880s: I'm in school teaching from 8:45a-3:45p (7 hours) every day, but if I'm not putting in 3-7 additional hours every day (with 3-6 more hours over the weekend), then the next day is not a quality experience for the students. I don't get paid for overtime, but it is there. (See the chart at 9:32 on Education)
When you do the math (salary vs time in prep, time in class, and required extracurricular activities), the hourly rates of most really good teachers are at (or below) minimum wage.

Bro used my own self talk today had a confidence set back and hurt like hell I suffer with depression, anxiety and psychosis and normally it would put me out for weeks but sucked it up had a little talk to my self told my self to stop thinking about it sucked it up now got my self volunteering for oxfam I used that and got something better now can gain skills for my work life and business life, growing thicker skin your right it does work fight for what you want thats how winners are made
I am struggling because my dream is insane and I've got the commitment but I skipped a step somewhere and its grinding me up. I won't let go but this is insane, insane enough that the energy has proven itself
I'm scared to try again but I will
I like to think Tim Ferriss is in the big leagues but that's just because I'm biased and the guy's helped me a lot. Just like laws of power, it can be taken any way. This is all great advice and insight though. Thanks for the work and videos!
