So jealous that you can just go to a local place and buy things like this... and then plant them outdoors!

Hey looks great. Can i ask, how much do the 6" and 1 gallon material generally cost in your area? I do the same thing as you here in Northern Bay area CA and I struggle to keep my costs down while installing large tapestries. Most nurseries charge high prices for full size succulents. Thanks!

Generally, I expect to pay $6 for 6”/1 gallon succulents at wholesale and $12-$15 for the same plant at retail. Large tapestries do get quite pricey even here in San Diego where succulents grow like weeds and can be found cheaply. How much more are you paying in the Bay? Thank you so much for watching!

@@grownbydesign Thanks for your reply. The standard up here is $5.00 whole sale for 4" succulents and $10 or $12 for 1 gallon. The 4" aren't really usable for tapestries and often time the 1gallons aren't of a sufficient size. I suppose the costs are similar. Your specimen are just larger for the price. Like the big echeveria rosettes that you planted would easily go for $20-$35. Same with the mangave

Wow, that is a significant price difference for the larger echeverias. I imagine that makes doing projects like this for clients significantly more difficult!

The tapestry is great! The round rocks, though, seem (to me) to be somewhat overwhelming - the tapestry is almost lost among them. While the tapestry itself is excellent and the variety of succulents used are perfect, I think it would look better if a smaller stone - gravel or lava, perhaps, surrounded it so the succulents don't get lost in the view.

Thank you very much for watching! I agree and generally would not use river rock in an installation like this. In this case, the river rock was already here and the homeowners wanted to use it instead of bringing in new rock. My first choice for this installation would have been 1 inch black lava but in the end I am still very happy with how it came out!
