Hey big guy I saw you did this video like a year ago how was that printer still working for you I'm trying to find something that is worthy of my shop because I'm just getting into it and I'm transferring from silk screening and I love the way your stuff looks and your video is right on time I've been looking for something like that thank you for the content please let me know how it's still working for you and keep up the good work
I have to say that because of you and this channel I have purchased the i560 when it comes to printing media as far as I am concerned, you're the authority brother. I appreciate your time and your willingness to help up rookies. I also have your screen printing software and it has changed my life and How I run my business. If anyone is reading this and needs a software to run your screen printing business, take a look at the print life software! it does all the thinking for you. worth every penny.
I bought this system since i wanted to avoid maintenance of a DTG printer, i bought the printer that prints up to 13" x 19". Shirts come out great and i recommend this system for event shirts, something that you will wear 1 or 2 times because after 3 or 4 washes image cracks and or you start getting those spots where ink comes off. After a year and not getting a lot of returnig costumers i had to get a DTG printer if i wanted to stay in business. Durability, compared to DTG, not even close. I love this system for hats and face covers though, something you dont wash often.
Yes same. Sold it after clients complained about the washabilty. This printer is only good for demo prints. For production runs screen print or DTG. You will lose customers if you use these toners.
I bought the uninet 560 last year and ended up selling it. Its not bad for doing small orders. If you have full color prints with little negative space the prints are going to feel like a paper bag on your shirt. If you have larger orders of 100 prints or more then its going to take you forever to complete the order. Between marrying and heat pressing its going to take you quite a while not to mention a slew of other issues from heat press issues to prints not peeling correctly. Humidity problems. Paper problems. Printing problems etc. Its just not practical for a thriving business. For small orders or personal use its not bad. We have our transfers screenprinted now. Its actual cheaper per print and when you compare pressing a screenprinted transfer for 10 seconds as opposed to the white toner print that takes much much longer to press not to mention you have to marry the A and B sheets. Then it seems like we were having lots of peeling issues. With screenprinted transfers its press for 10 seconds and immediately peel with 99% success rate. And it feels like a real screenprint as opposed to it feeling like a paperbag on your shirt. Sorry about the negative info but I wish someone had told me this before I dropped close to $4,000 on this printer.
For those who are in screen printing DST would be a great alternative. Laserprint on a much cheaper transfer paper, white underbase with water based ink and glue powder from plastisol transfers. Best option for small full color orders.

Possibly one of the best decisions I’ve made is purchasing the Icolor 550, I’ve come from Screenprinting/htv vinyl for 5+ years and let me tell you it saves you a lot of time, I feel like the learning curve would be peeling the A&B sheets since you would have to find the right temperature/press time and getting it to peel smoothly, but otherwise then that the quality is amazing!
I agree completely, the skill is in the peel. I wasted half a box figuring out my pressure and temps, once you got the lined out its easy as pie. My big mistake was having my pressure way to high at first.
I used to be in favor of DTG but maintenance can really be a nightmare, fortunately I got a discount on some transfer solutions and media from the B&E Buyers Club.
Brice Anderson I have 2 DTG Printers and maintenance is easy with a f2100. I use to use transfers but they feel to much like rubber and didn’t work with my clothing brand. DTG is not for everyone but if you do custom tees it’s the way to go.
Great vid! We have a similar machine at work but our boss (who always says no) insists we use a expensive transfer media which is extremely poor productivity leading to 50% failures. We would save loads of time having weeding paper too!
Nothing like a DTG printer. Look up Ghost White Toner, HP M452dw, Forever Transfer Papers, and RhinoScreen 2.0. Most won't tell you because they want to promote the more expensive printers, but to get in the game (for way less than half of just the Uninet or Oki printer) you cannot beat that combo. If you have the cash $12K+ , get the Oki Pro9541WT. It can do CMYK+W in one pass and it can print 13x19. You're welcome. Also, these have been out for a few years, so hop on quick as you can see, most people are starting to catch on.
this looks pretty good! our shop got a DTG printer a few years back but it was a nightmare like you said, the thing would clog in the middle of jobs! It's now a very expensive, very oversized paper weight :/
How many washes? Depends on the transfer paper you are using. Easily over 50 with the right paper and you need the Right heat press to pull it off. When done correctly you can break the rules and dry on HIGH heat and it will still last a long time. The instructions don't matter much. Things change depending on the material, quality of material and ect. You will need to do your own testing
I didn't even know I needed this printer until I saw your video - goddamn you! ;) Now I'm over $7 grand Australian poorer but pretty bloody excited. Thanks for your awesome video (as always) and advice.
Try using parchment paper instead of the teflon sheet. I know for DTG it gives the print a less glossy look than the teflon. I used to work for a company that sold DTG printers.
Do not build a shirt business on this. Just don't. Yes I have experience with it. Yes I have experience with high end DTG. And most importantly I have 25+ years as a screen printer. This is NOT a way to build a business. Learn to print, and more importantly, learn to sell/market. You can start for waaaay less money, just basic printing. If you want to decorate with this method just buy a heat press and find some other way to get the prints done. A heat press can always be handy to have, every shop has one. I built a 6 color 1 station press for $200. A few screens, squeegees and such. Running out and dropping $4K on a laser printer is a recipe for losing money. The real people making money with this are the marketers of the printers.
@@joeshmoe7967 you right bro. But for screen printing you need lot of experience and you cant print anything by screen may be you can but with lot of efforts and skilled work I think this machine method is not so difficult its easy to learn and I think epson 2130 dtg printer so expensive around 16k so I think it's a better option ....rest of the matter of research thanks bro.
I'm thinking about getting one in the fall. Maybe the bigger model. I'm off and on about it. Maybe at the October AC show if the price is right and something else doesn't catch my eye.
It is a super option for shops that want to fulfill short run full color graphics. They are not for fashion or resale applications, you would not use this to print for a clothing brand or anything like that. Best for single-use applications, RIP tees Family trip tees, Lots of fun options that allow you to charge 30 bucks a shirt.
@@ThePrintLife Ah see theres the catch - would have liked to hear that in the video rather than searching through the comments. Neat tech, not worth $4k.
Great vid! Seeking advice: Current situation: -Artist/designer (not a printer). I do all my own file setup (vector/Illustrator). - Zero screen printing experience (or desire to do it). -I have a core stock of tees (6 designs) done by a great local screen printer. I ship from my studio. - I have tons of other designs, color, garment options on my Shopify store, DTG/dropshipped by Printful. - POD companies are all backed up and delayed due to COVID-19. Wondering: Would this be a suitable replacement to bring it all in house, and do the prints myself - as far as quality, etc. compared to Printful/POD? This startup cost is doable for me, and would give me the option of offering countless designs. I understand I'd have to stock my own blanks, etc. and do the actual printing myself. Thanks!
Hey. I have been looking for a Designer, to maybe do some business with, would you be interested? Im working on getting a few local company orders as we speak, and more coming. I dont have someone to design, that has the time to do it right now
For sure, its comming soon, but keep this in mind most single use cases wont matter either way. Im implementing this full force in my shop, Gonna make a boat load on less than 12 orders.
yup, half the price of traditional DTG none of the headaches. I think DTG still has its place in the industry but this is a better option for those that aren't printing thousands of single order jobs.
so any wash testing done yet? everything looks good but how long the image it's going to stay on the shirt... it's going to be 20 washes, 50 washes like vinyl???
I have been a white toner printer since 2017, a screen printer for years and a direct to garment printer who builds my own printers. White toner printing will last if treated corectly. Please view my channel for loads of different printing methods. Brother Ernest on youtube.
This looks promising. What is the price of the untit? Also how long do the prints last on t shirts? Do they crack or fade. Would love to see a wash test done on shirts u made.
They may crack but there are several things that can be done to minimize it. But, for the price and speed, it cannot be beaten. My whole business revolves around that concept, I only do custom work. You can also print on way more substrates.
@@ThePrintLife Haha, they made the right choice! I feel like we're some of the first guys to tap into the next big wave in printing. That's an exciting place to be.
Let's see one of those shirts after 20 washes, the proof is in the pudding as they say. BTW, I have the Omniprint 330TX Plus DTG printer that uses the wet cap system for the print head and auto recirculating white ink, so the print head can sit for up to 30 days not being used and the print head does NOT clog like most of the other DTG printers on the market.
That is sweet, I feel like wet caping and refillable recirculating ink is a huge improvement in the DTG market. If more machines did this they would do much better I think.
Same here with a free jet and I love mine but all these uninets popping up has got me interested at price points. Looking forward to that wash test video!
Thanks for the videos. This look like a good option for one offs and slight customization. My only hesitation is that the company has not joined in and answered some of these questions posted themselves....or have they and I missed them? If so my apologies.
Hey, I just uploaded a new video on RUclips about (MULTI COLOR VINYL PRESSING) on my page. I’d appreciate if you would be able to check it out and give me feedback 🙏🏾 Thank You 🚀
Its seems cool for very small orders or if a customer was looking for a favor from you and you didn't want to turn them away you could offer this option. I'm just not a fan of heat press, it's the lowest form of printing and cheapens the art, but hey ... not everyone is into the art right! On the flip side it was Cool video. . .
Great Video! I also have had one these printers since January and I feel the capability is awesome! If you test various settings (halftones - rasterization), your garments will not only look great and have a good hand, they will handle washing and everyday abuse quite well.
@@latitude4 depends upon your dealer set up. I built my own Direct-to-garment printer and although white toner printing is more expensive than DTG per print, it is actually lower over the long run bc you don't have to worry about the heads cloging up due to non-usage.
thank you so much for this. I may end up with one of these in my near future for my small business. hoping to exceed the small part of that. lol thank you again for your feedback on this amazing machine
You did a great job! You always make it seem exciting & getting your point across. I look forward to your videos & learn. I just don’t like that the Co. makes it so difficult to get the price which a lot of times is the bottom line. 🤨
Thank you for this video, I was going to buy a sublimation printer, but its excellent that this laser printer does both, win win WOW. I love the T-shirt your wearing. and the mummy I guess. that was AWESOME!!!
Awesome looks good seen afew other ones that do the same they run around $5,000-$8,000 to $12,000 for the bigger ones can't wait to see your update videos🤙🏼
Hey Cam, since you say this is an alternative to DTG, how's texture/feel? is it matte or glossy? the biggest turn off for me with transfers is the thick rubbery feel..it's like someone just slapped a sticker on a shirt. is it at least in between the softhand feel of traditional screenprint and regular transfers? hard to judge from just the video clip.
It certainly dose not feel like a screen print, it is a heat transfer. If you have ever felt a plastisol transfer it feels very similar. It has a matt finish after the final press. The rip has these super cool features like knock me out black and rasterization options that help make the print feel butter soft. I have been screen printing for a very long time, and I'm super impressed with the look and feel. With that in mind, this is not a replacment for screen printing, its a supplement that allows you to offer short run short use tees to you clients. You would not use this print for long runs and for a clothing brand.
It always makes me suspicious when you hide your prices on their website You could be given different people different prices. Just be upfront and put your prices on the site! I shouldn’t have to call in
But also a way to set expectations for people. Wouldn’t it suck to sell something and then someone is upset with you about something they didn’t realize your product did or didn’t do.
Yeap if the price isn’t upfront, I don’t want it. Who wants to talk to a sales rep and they are trying to upsell and do whatever. If you can’t list your price, you’re shady!!
I know the technology is improving all the time, but does the final print really feel ok? Most white toner and easy subli transfers I've experienced were thick, noisy, and felt like a 1970's iron on, cracked and faded within a few washings. I'm assuming this process isn't like those? The print in the video did look great. As far as DTG goes, I've had prints done on Kornit, Aeoon, Epson, etc. The real problem is most print shops haven't mastered the process or lack QA in order to deliver consistent quality DTG prints. I have a bunch of DTG shirts that are only fit for shop rags.
Nah homie. Depends on the transfer paper you are using and other little tricks you will have to figure out on your own. If you know what you are doing and willing to do a lot of testing then you wont have that plasic feel. Lot of variables to consider.
Very cool, how long would it take to learn all about working this , you are a expert you work on thes kind of things all the time..how much are they.thanks great vidio.

Great vid! We have a similar machine at work but our boss (who always says no) insists we use a expensive transfer media which is extremely poor productivity leading to 50% failures. We would save loads of time having weeding paper too!
Another great video Cam. The printer looks great , you sell it very well, with your pumped up excited exuberance!
I am quite the salesman.
Cool, always wondered how those printers work. Thanks for the vid & good vibes 💯
Thanks Kenyon, keep up that tshirt hustle.
This uncle 1 is great, it inspires us even more to work. warm greetings & healthy greetings.
Also, these have been out for a few years, so hop on quick as you can see, most people are starting to catch on.
wudjoo talkn bout willis
You sold us on this printer! We are going to start our side business! Thanks for the inspiration! Let us know if you have any other tips! Subbed!
this looks pretty good! our shop got a DTG printer a few years back but it was a nightmare like you said, the thing would clog in the middle of jobs! It's now a very expensive, very oversized paper weight :/
Just got the white toner printer too
I like your demo. I also would like to see you do a wash test - how many washes can this take?
Please do it
How many washes? Depends on the transfer paper you are using. Easily over 50 with the right paper and you need the Right heat press to pull it off. When done correctly you can break the rules and dry on HIGH heat and it will still last a long time. The instructions don't matter much. Things change depending on the material, quality of material and ect. You will need to do your own testing
I didn't even know I needed this printer until I saw your video - goddamn you! ;) Now I'm over $7 grand Australian poorer but pretty bloody excited. Thanks for your awesome video (as always) and advice.
Hah! I felt the same way I almost took the plunge too! Do you own a shop? Would love to test some prints on this beasty :D
Seeing that its such a diverse printer, can it also do sticker/labels. Then this will be perfect for me
You can do all things with this printer that you would do with a regular printer.
KamMan! That "Kid with A.D.D. expression" @9:53 Oscar worthy performance.
Try using parchment paper instead of the teflon sheet. I know for DTG it gives the print a less glossy look than the teflon. I used to work for a company that sold DTG printers.
This is actually a DTF printer though… not DTG…🤔
Thank you for this. Been looking for a way into the DTG-type market. I think I just found my starting point.
Technically this isn’t DTG as the DIRECT TO GARMENT doesn’t apply. Should be called DTTTTG (DIRECT TO TRANSFER THEN TO GARMENT)!
Brian technically this would simply be called a heat transfer. I used to do these a lot before I had to care for my handicapped brother full time.
@@IraQNid would you recommend this for a brand new newbie; no knowledge of where to start..
Technically he did say it's an alternative to dtg. Lol
Yup
Yeah its actually DTF
for anyone wondering this is not a DTG, its a transfer printer
Correct
Laser printer on Digital Heat Transfers to be exact.
Do clothes have a lot of life with this machine?
Thank you so much for reviewing this printer. I am very interested in purchasing it but do you know how the print on the shirt holds up in washes?
Great video, quick question. What is the other printer you have under your monitor in your video? Thanks.
?
I'm thinking about getting one in the fall. Maybe the bigger model. I'm off and on about it. Maybe at the October AC show if the price is right and something else doesn't catch my eye.
I think you can achieve most results with the 550. wait till I do the smart cut vid to make a decision.
Lol... He's goofy & entertaining, I will definitely be subscribing...
Thank you for joining that party.
thank you for such a great video. I don't know if you've gotten this far yet but how many shirts do you think the cartridges yield? averagely?
Love the content 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾you have a new subscriber Brooklyn is in the building 🗣🗣🗣🗣🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
Great vid! Seeking advice:
Current situation:
-Artist/designer (not a printer).
Wondering:
Would this be a suitable replacement to bring it all in house, and do the prints myself - as far as quality, etc. compared to Printful/POD?
This startup cost is doable for me, and would give me the option of offering countless designs.
I understand I'd have to stock my own blanks, etc. and do the actual printing myself.
Thanks!
Hey. I have been looking for a Designer, to maybe do some business with, would you be interested? Im working on getting a few local company orders as we speak, and more coming. I dont have someone to design, that has the time to do it right now
Great video thanks.. ive seen the similar self weeding stuff and colour print stuff.. but the under and over printing on this does make it attractive!
Death to digital! But I may consider this one haha Gotta see that wash test video first.
For sure, its comming soon, but keep this in mind most single use cases wont matter either way. Im implementing this full force in my shop, Gonna make a boat load on less than 12 orders.
I really like your presentation but can you recommend me a printer that can be used for heat transfer?
For anyone wondering this is like a $4k DTG machine.
yup, half the price of traditional DTG none of the headaches. I think DTG still has its place in the industry but this is a better option for those that aren't printing thousands of single order jobs.
Yeah....totally "affordable." It's the reason he just said it was affordable but didn't say the price
Guys...4k is great.. I paid 19k for my DTG Printer and this would still be a great addition to my shop
@@dbvfx8628 if you are already in the print game 4k is very affordable. Expecialy if you are loosing revenu and opportunities to short run jobs.
Its not DTG technology it is a new type of technology called White Toner Laser
I got the oki white toner printer. It’s killer!
Heck yea.
so any wash testing done yet? everything looks good but how long the image it's going to stay on the shirt... it's going to be 20 washes, 50 washes like vinyl???
I have been a white toner printer since 2017, a screen printer for years and a direct to garment printer who builds my own printers. White toner printing will last if treated corectly. Please view my channel for loads of different printing methods. Brother Ernest on youtube.
Love to have one, just getting my business started.
Amazing results! Enjoy your enthusiasm and energy.
I assume it would also be possible to knock the white out of the print?
Need to see wash test, if that's good then I'm in.
yes, i too want to know wash test result!
@Flüchtlinge willkommen did you try it?
Excellent video! How well does the final product wash compared with DTG and sublimation?
This looks promising. What is the price of the untit? Also how long do the prints last on t shirts? Do they crack or fade. Would love to see a wash test done on shirts u made.
Great questions!
Price?
They may crack but there are several things that can be done to minimize it. But, for the price and speed, it cannot be beaten. My whole business revolves around that concept, I only do custom work. You can also print on way more substrates.
Tawnia Owens $3kish, USCUTTER sells it..
Great video and an awesome no BS guy.
Thanks for posting!
Nice, welcome to the party Cam!
Thanks man. I found them thanks to your vid. Then I proceeded to badger them into submission. How incredible is this laser teck???
@@ThePrintLife Haha, they made the right choice! I feel like we're some of the first guys to tap into the next big wave in printing. That's an exciting place to be.
@@brandsandempires hey man!
I love it!! I just got a printer to do sublimation. This is sooooooo sweet! Can I come over? LOL
How much was it?
Hi bro♥️♥️ u r my favorite one can I ask u which type of paper u used and what about wash test and the material?
Cam used iColor 2 step standard "550" paper
Thanks for the videos. This look like a good option for one offs and slight customization. My only hesitation is that the company has not joined in and answered some of these questions posted themselves....or have they and I missed them? If so my apologies.
Good point, I hope they will hop in soon.
@@ThePrintLife I'm here! ask away!
On the flip side it was Cool video. . .
It's great for anything you dont want to screen print.
Great Video! I also have had one these printers since January and I feel the capability is awesome! If you test various settings (halftones - rasterization), your garments will not only look great and have a good hand, they will handle washing and everyday abuse quite well.
Right on I'm still testing various rasterization methods. I like how much control you have with the rip.
What is the average cost to print a t-shirt?
@@latitude4 The White Toner Ink is about $2K but you can get quite a few prints with it
@@latitude4 depends upon your dealer set up. I built my own Direct-to-garment printer and although white toner printing is more expensive than DTG per print, it is actually lower over the long run bc you don't have to worry about the heads cloging up due to non-usage.
@@AzraelPercussionNEO The white toner ink is not $2k, try $357
thank you so much for this. I may end up with one of these in my near future for my small business. hoping to exceed the small part of that. lol thank you again for your feedback on this amazing machine
Dude, I so get your excitement at the potentials! 😀
I've had dtg, Oki laser and print cut. All have pros and cons but I never got on well with the laser. Print cut is way better.
Yea print cut is sweet.

If Matthew McConaughey made t-shirts

alright alright alright
Thank you for this video, I was going to buy a sublimation printer, but its excellent that this laser printer does both, win win WOW. I love the T-shirt your wearing. and the mummy I guess. that was AWESOME!!!
Awesome looks good seen afew other ones that do the same they run around $5,000-$8,000 to $12,000 for the bigger ones can't wait to see your update videos🤙🏼
Yea man. The cool thing about this press is the smart cut rip. I'm going to do a video on how that monster works.
@@ThePrintLife awesome can't 🤙🏼
I love ur excitement great energy
Depends on the transfer paper you are using. There are many different ones and all of them do NOT feel the same
Hi new friend here !! With the ink that came with the printer i can heat transfer to clothes? Or I need to by separate ink ?
It always makes me suspicious when you hide your prices on their website You could be given different people different prices. Just be upfront and put your prices on the site! I shouldn’t have to call in
yea
True
But also a way to set expectations for people. Wouldn’t it suck to sell something and then someone is upset with you about something they didn’t realize your product did or didn’t do.
I agree
Yeap if the price isn’t upfront, I don’t want it. Who wants to talk to a sales rep and they are trying to upsell and do whatever. If you can’t list your price, you’re shady!!
Thanks so much for the info! Looking into this one and you answered several questions for me! Looking like this might be the one:)
Glad it was helpful!
I just started with laser..forever flex
Cam is killing it!
It not as good as a screen print for sure. I have washed the photo 3 times still holding up like a champ.
Any ideas on the longevity of the images on the shirts? Roughly how many washes are they good for?
depending on the transfer media used and wash care, it can last between 15-100 washes
From my test so far in rasterized images are still holding strong after 10 washes and tumble dryers. Better than I expected.
I REALLY enjoyed watching this video!!! Thanks a lot for your opinion and experiences.
So don't worry about 'babbling', at least you're authentic, Dude, and at least that's what I prefer. I HATE watching superficial LaLa-Land-type people ^^

Didn't know Matthew McConaughey was doing t-shirts now.
This is the first time that I have felt like The Print Life goes infomercial. I guess it is a sign of the times as pretty much every youtuber now reviews stuff that "shows up" at their shops.
Considering I got a demo unit that's pushing it, but I'll tell ya what. Start sending me money for all the content I put out for free and you got a deal I will never showcase or demo any products again.
I'm sure if you're precise enough with some scissors and a steady hand you can put together a larger piece
You can and they have a program that will cut the image to make tiling way easier.
Great video! When you switch around diff cartridge inks do you have to bleed the lines for a bit?
Nope, you can swap back and forth anytime with no maintenance in-between swaps. This is dry toner, no waste, no leaking, no priming.
jdovi no way!!! That’s awesome - I’d so love to get one of these then!! Do you have one? If so, how goes it?
