This version is amazing! 🤩🤩 The tempo of the first movement is perfect -- way too many slow versions out there -- and then the drama of that middle section -- WOW!! Brava!! Bravissima!!
This is truly a masterpiece! And the singer is wonderful. My goodness this is difficult to sing, though.
Piia Komsi delivered one of the most interesting versions of Bach.Bras. , both vocally and particularly the presentation. She kept my attention from the first till the last note. And mind you, I might have heard by now 100 different singers. Many are vocally maybe perfect, but often without emotion or dull to watch. Performing is not only singing all the notes, but it must capture you. Piia did that. I didn't know her, but now I certainly know. Will look for more of her on RUclips ...and for the impolite reviewer who "struggles" about pronunciation of a language : he has not understood that the (extremely difficult) vocals come first , together with the stage presence and certainly not the pronunciation. I loved to see how the voice was so in harmony with the music, as the 9th instrument. Compliments Piia If it was a Songfestival, I would say : 12 notes from the Netherlands!

This is very well sung, well played and well pronounced, but she actually forgot some of the lyrics in the beginning of the aria!
A soprano erra a letra, os cellos desafinam e todos os comentários aqui com adjetivos superlativos... O próprio Villa-Lobos não teria ficado nada satisfeito se considerarmos seu nível de exigência ao interpretarem sua música quando era vivo... Putz mano, realmente pode se empurrar qualquer coisa pras pessoas, quanta ignorância...
Embora eu compreenda sua observação reduzindo a apresentação a algo puramente técnico, no entanto, preciso lembrar que a música toca as pessoas de formas diferentes, e as vezes, mesmo não sendo a coisa mais técnica e precisa possível,.ainda assim ela irá tocar e comover as pessoas profundamente.

Not really. As a Brazilian native speaker, I can say I understand it perfectly. And I even dare to say I know some Brazilian people who do not have such a clear enunciation.
He pronunciation is better than most other non-Brazilian singers who try this piece, but she did forget some of the lyrics.
