The line about tearing out the walls is true. Joe once said "the best day of life was when Keith Moon decided he liked me. The worst day of my life was when Keith Moon decided he liked me". Keith was known as "Moon the Loon" for all his antics while he was a drummer for The Who.
A few years ago I was reading an interview with Joe, wherein he was asked if he really did all of the crazy things that people said he did while on the road in the 70s. He said something like; "Yes, I did. I don't remember it but I've read all of the police reports, so..." I seriously recommend listening to his Rocky Mountain Way, or the song Funk #49 that he recorded when he was the lead guitarist of The James Gang.
When Joe had his band, The James Gang, at one point they opened for The Who on a tour of Britain. Joe got along real well with Keith Moon, who taught Joe everything he knew about trashing hotel rooms. ( cherry bombs down toilets etc) Joe has quipped that the most terrifying words he has ever heard in his life were when someone told him that “Keith Moon likes you”. 😂
"I can't complain but sometimes I still do" is one of those genius lines you can use for the rest of your life. Hope you can bang your head more tomorrow.
You need to look up the escapades of Joe Walsh and John Belushi partying together in Chicago. Part of the story involves the two of them spray painting their jeans black to get into an upscale restaurant.
I was 16 when this came out. Just got my drivers license and really enjoyed cruising around with this blasting on the radio! So fun! So free! Enjoy your reactions. Your feelings about the music are spot on!!
Joe Walsh is oe of my all time favorite people in the history of Rock and Roll. I've been a fan of his for 55 years. Just a hilarious guy, talented storyteller, songwriter and guitarist. That slide guitar you thought you heard is just his style, his signature sound with his fingers. There are videos out there where he tells stories, explains his guitar licks etc. Very entertaining and very much worth watching. Also If you listen to the CD version of this song, let it play into a flock of Wa waahs. A little hidden track on the CD version of the album.
Cool story about them. During the time of their break up. She had a one night stand with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. The next morning Joe showed up and got into an argument. She started yelling Don’t come around here no more. So Dave wrote the song… Don’t come around here no more for Stevie to sing, but she flaked out and Tom Petty did it. Dave is in the video, he’s the one sitting on the giant mushroom with the Hooka. This is fact!
@scottlaughlin9897 we semi-grew up together. Her Dad owned a concert venue where I grew up, and I was aspiring to be the assistant to the assistant roadie.
I was just shy of 14 years old when this classic was released. It was my favorite song of the Summer of 1978, despite some HEAVY competition. The 1970s was truly an AMAZING decade for music. I will forever be grateful I was there to experience it as it happened.
There is only one reactor so far who has finished the song with Tommy Chong warning that here comes a flock of Wa Wa's, and that reactor is ''Bars and Barbells''. If you don't know what I'm talking about then go listen to their reaction, it's well worth it.
I love "Life's Been Good", hahaha!! I've heard this was based on Joe Walsh's actual lifestyle back in the day. "In The City" by Joe Walsh is my favorite of his.
If you get a chance check out Joe Walsh - Life's Been Good (Live Spoken Word Version). Even if it's on your own time. It's Joe with his guitar on stage in front of a smallish audience and he explains the whole writing process of this song. If you haven't heard Joe tell a story before, it's a real treat. He's great.
Joe was brought into Eagles in 1975 to give them a “harder”, or more “rock” edge. Which he did. Fifty years in, he’s still doing so. Saw them at The Sphere last month. FANTASTIC.
I saw him open for foreigner I think it was. Late 70s early 80s, Providence. My introduction to him, definitely. And I loved the Eagles. ❤ MTV gave this song a new rebirth after the official video was recorded.
Nice introduction+ reaction to Joe Walsh's hit "Life's Been Good". Joe has been around since late 60s w the James Gang who you definitely need to hear. "Walk Away" was their biggest song chart wise but their 1st three albums opened a lot of ears as a trio w a unique sound. Thirds is my favorite James Gang record, w Walk Away. Joe has a great song he does w brother-in-law Ringo celebrating his Sobriety, as you realize from "Life's Been Good" Joe had some wild times and got sober in the 90's (maybe). I didn't expect much but it's a moving song w great guitar + hits hard w anyone who's had substance abuse problems (like myself). I saw it in You Tube. Enjoy your journeys.
Even if you are not a huge Eagles fan, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the documentary, "History of the Eagles". It's a fantastic snapshot of what was happening in the American music scene in the early 1970's. Joe Walsh is absolutely hysterical and a fantastic musician and human being. He's been through a lot and is still with us.
I’m sure you’ll get plenty of recommendations for some of his earlier songs (both solo and with the James Gang), so I’ll suggest one from a bit later: the title track from his 1985 album, “The Confessor”
Joe credited Duane Allman for teaching him slide. Duane and Derek Trucks are summit level slide players, but Joe is up there with Lowell George, Mick Taylor and many others
Great reaction. It was good to see you laughing at all the right spots! For some reason, a lot of reactors miss so much of the humor and irony in this fun and clever song, but you obviously "get it." "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do" is a great line and a definite theme in my life as well. lol As others have mentioned, Joe's catalog is worth diving into, and "Rocky Mountain Way" is a good next choice and an earworm.
If you’re branching out into the Eagles band members solo careers, I highly recommend Glenn Frye’s, Smugglers Blues. It was featured in an episode of Miami Vice and Glenn had a supporting role as one of the bad guys, iirc.
Now go watch the 1977 live version of "Hotel California" so you can be blown away by the incredible dueling guitar solo by Joe Walsh and Don Felder. You're welcome! 💥🔥
"Life's Been Good" is the final song on the album, and if you listen to the album cut, after the songs fades completely out, you get to hear a flock of wah-wahs.😆

Joe recently said, "It was much more fun being 20 in the 70s than being 70 in the 20s."
Sounds about right. I love it.❤️🌼✌️
Yup, been my experience.
You Gotta See Joe Explain the Lyrics of this ,,,Song Its Hilarious
Lord, ain't it true!🧓😜🎭🎸💖
From one who was there I totally agree-the 60s and 70s were definitely more fun
"Rocky Mountain Way" is a must.
The line about tearing out the walls is true. Joe once said "the best day of life was when Keith Moon decided he liked me. The worst day of my life was when Keith Moon decided he liked me". Keith was known as "Moon the Loon" for all his antics while he was a drummer for The Who.
Love Joe!
He turned 77 a week or so ago...sober for 30 years!!
My favourite line is "Everyone's changed but I've stayed the same". A great song and a cool reaction.
My favorite
🎵 Everybody's so different - I haven't changed 🎵
Check out this song 49 years later, Live at Darryl's House. ✌️😁
Yep, Joe's pretty good at slide guitar. Glenn Frey, Eagles bandmate, once said in an interview that Joe is "an interesting bunch of guys."
And I don't think he knew all of them
@@MoMoMyPup10 😂I don't know if anyone did.
This is not satire, this autobiographical
Rocky Mountain Way was a pretty big hit a few years earlier
Funk 49 from Joe's' James Gang days is another good one.
Love that song too!😊
I love how it starts out kinda like a goofy song but by the end he's absolutely crushing it❤
We all need more Joe Walsh in our lives.
Why?
So glad you're diving into Joe Walsh; excellent guitarist, and his eccentric take on the world and everything in it is inspired.
Funk#49 is a must!
It should’ve gone higher on the charts, but there was just so much competition in those days.
When Joe had his band, The James Gang, at one point they opened for The Who on a tour of Britain. Joe got along real well with Keith Moon, who taught Joe everything he knew about trashing hotel rooms. ( cherry bombs down toilets etc)
Joe has quipped that the most terrifying words he has ever heard in his life were when someone told him that “Keith Moon likes you”. 😂
Joe once said, “I only got drunk once. For twenty years.”
"I can't complain but sometimes I still do" is one of those genius lines you can use for the rest of your life. Hope you can bang your head more tomorrow.
I use it with some frequency 😏
It’s a very relatable line. There are also times when I _could_ complain, but I don’t, so I guess it all kind of balances out somewhere along the way.
Another GREAT one from him is called Rocky Mountain Way
You need to look up the escapades of Joe Walsh and John Belushi partying together in Chicago. Part of the story involves the two of them spray painting their jeans black to get into an upscale restaurant.
The Eagles’ IN THE CITY features Joe on vocals.
That was part of the set at The Sphere. Great vusuals too.
In The City was originally done by Joe as his own work for the movie The Warriors in 1979 and then The Eagles version was done for The Long Run album.
I go to parties sometimes until 4:00. It’s hard to leave when you can’t find the door. Great song❤️ 🤘🏼
Love me some Joe Walsh. Check out Rocky Mountain Way. Another Walsh fav.
He has a reaction to it!
I was 16 when this came out. Just got my drivers license and really enjoyed cruising around with this blasting on the radio! So fun! So free! Enjoy your reactions. Your feelings about the music are spot on!!
This was from the era of Just-for-Fun music. That's it... just for fun.
This is a fkn fantastic piece of musical art
Joe used to say (before his sobriety in the 90s) that he only ever got drunk 1 time. He just stayed drunk for 25 years.......that's all.
Joe's uniquely clever perspectives of a rock star's life so good, he can't actually enjoy all of it!🎶"...they tell me it's nice!"
🤘😜🤏
This is such a great song!!🎵🎶 Such a fun song about his own life!!❤❤
This is one of those songs that people remember the 2nd verse more than the 1st verse .
Definitely check him out in the band called James Gang doing Funk #49

@@gregpanek523 forgot about the wah wahs! Funny stuff. I believe it was on the vinyl version as well.
Stevie Nicks called Joe the love of her life.
Second only to Lindsey Buckingham!!🎵🎼🎶🫶🫶
They probably would have made it sans chemicals. Too bad. They could still join a conga line somewhere and drink ensure. 😂
@marcieharreld286 she was sooo strung out towards the end of that one. I felt horrible for her.
Cool story about them. During the time of their break up. She had a one night stand with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. The next morning Joe showed up and got into an argument. Joe has such a distinctive guitar sound! We saw him twice in one year (pre-pandemic). He opened for Tom Petty and then we saw him with the Eagles.
Glad you caught the lyrics. Seen other reactors feeling the music but missing most of the lyrics, which are hilarious
This is fire live!! Lucky enough to see it performed at The Eagles concert when Glenn was still alive!
Great pick Maya 🔥
Me too Lynn

Black pegasus made it through the way was he didn't say anything just looked confused
@@Raven5150As usual
Andy and Alex made it through the Wah-Wahs.
:( No Wah Wahs
There are many reactions that have the flock of Waa Waa's at the end
One of my 5 All-time favorite songs!
Always loved this song and Rocky Mountain Way but I never appreciated Joe Walsh as he deserved until recently. Exceptional artist.
Same
This was so fun and singable (is that a word?) back in the day. Loved my teen years, SO much great music.
The same here. Miss that music so much.
I love "Life's Been Good", hahaha!! I've heard this was based on Joe Walsh's actual lifestyle back in the day. "In The City" by Joe Walsh is my favorite of his.
Totally the story of his life, another incredible guitar player!!!
"I can't complain, but sometimes I still do," is one of my favorite lines ever written. So sharp.
" In the City " was another of Joe's hits. The Eagles adopted the song as part of their classics.
His solo masterpiece is " The Confessor "
@@KevinWalsh-m7w Joe's solo version is much better than the Eagles.
Glenn Frey, also of the Eagles, was quoted about Joe Walsh -
"Joe is a very interesting bunch of guys" 😂
I have seen him do this song about 10 in the last few years with the Eagles and he steels the show every time !!😁
If you get a chance check out Joe Walsh - Life's Been Good (Live Spoken Word Version). Even if it's on your own time. YES Sal‼️ THIS👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼
Came here to say this. Joe Walsh is a hoot & so fun to watch. My fave👍🏼
He is a great storyteller.
The James Gang was awesome!!
Joe was brought into Eagles in 1975 to give them a “harder”, or more “rock” edge. Which he did. Fifty years in, he’s still doing so. Saw them at The Sphere last month. FANTASTIC.

They threw everything into this song! Bill Szymczyk is a great producer. That's him singing "everybody say I'm cool."
How the hell do you pronounce that?
This is going to be great! Thanks so much for sharing!
Legendary! 🙂🫶🏼✌️🙂
"I can't complain but some times I still do." This has been my mantra for 40 years.
Others are suggesting The Confessor and I fully agree, but you might also want to check out "Rosewood Bitters" off the same album.
My favorite line is, it's hard to leave when you can't find the door! 😆❤️✌️
🌸 one of my all-time favorite songs especially the very very very very very end...lol
Try “Rocky mountain way”
By the pool on a Saturday afternoon drinking beer, this song was guaranteed to come on the radio.
I saw the Eagles and Joe Walsh did this song as well as his other solo songs and james gang. It was great
Good one Maya! I have a hard time believing he hasn’t already heard this. SUCH a classic!
I loveJoe…have several of his albums.
Joe is so great at the guitar, look at his duet at the end of HOTEL CALIFORNIA.
OH NO! You didn't hear the FULL version. There's a surprise at the end. Oh well.
Joe is a treasure. Love his guitar sound. My favorite song by him is In the City.
He’s Ringo’s Brother in law
Where's the Flock of Wah Wahs?!
But the flock of wa-waas! We missed the flock of wa-waas!
So Joe did get to sing with the Eagles check out the song in the city from the movie the Warriors
If you want something a little harder from Joe react to The Confessor. Graet tune from a great guitarist
Love that song!
An incredible talent, Check out the James Gang!!
I’m sure you’ll get plenty of recommendations for some of his earlier songs (both solo and with the James Gang), so I’ll suggest one from a bit later: the title track from his 1985 album, “The Confessor”
Joe is definitely a riff god
You should see Joe rocking out with Daryl Hall ( Hall & Oats). Check them out jamming on Daryl’s House. His songs “Rocky Mountain Way” “In the City”
Joe credited Duane Allman for teaching him slide. Duane and Derek Trucks are summit level slide players, but Joe is up there with Lowell George, Mick Taylor and many others
I always loved this song ❤
As crazy as this autobiographical sounds, he said he was never as scared as when Keith Moon decided to be his friend.❤
Great song and reaction
Thanks!
Thank you for that !
Joe is a great bunch of guys- Don Henley
You should see Joe rocking out with Daryl Hall ( Hall & Oats). Check them out jamming on Daryl’s House.
Good stuff love you
Another one of his that I really enjoy is "Ordinary Average Guy". So much fun.
Joe is also Ringo Starr's brother in law. Small world of rock sometimes.
Great reaction. It was good to see you laughing at all the right spots! For some reason, a lot of reactors miss so much of the humor and irony in this fun and clever song, but you obviously "get it." I hear chaos. I heard my uncle. My uncles isn't chaos.
An underrated gem to check out is "Ordinary Average Guy".
A really groovy tune.
If you’re branching out into the Eagles band members solo careers, I highly recommend Glenn Frye’s, Smugglers Blues. It was featured in an episode of Miami Vice and Glenn had a supporting role as one of the bad guys, iirc.
Definitely do Joe's 'Rocky Mountain Way', it's really fantastic.
Here's a very short but fantastic Joe Walsh song that you MUST listen to : The All Night Laundry Mat Blues.
Now go watch the 1977 live version of "Hotel California" so you can be blown away by the incredible dueling guitar solo by Joe Walsh and Don Felder. You're welcome! 💥🔥
Brother you should dig deeper into him try funk 49, the confessor, falling down, one day at a time he is one of my faves
funk 49!!
I forgot one it’s analog man it’s a good jam
The Eagles' In The City is all Joe. Check it out,
"Life's Been Good" is the final song on the album, and if you listen to the album cut, after the songs fades completely out, you get to hear a flock of wah-wahs.😆
of his solo's rocky mountain way I think was his best but a bunch of what he did with the Janes Gang was great to
Best part of Eagles' concerts
In another world I wonder what would have come from a mix of Joe Walsh and George Carlin. Humor, little filter, Carlin’s gift for bits of almost rap.
