"Navigate Your Future: Career insights from RIN experts" is the new careers webinar series brought to you by the RIN's Younger Members' Group.
This episode covers how to plan for and get structured training and experience within positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) .
If you are studying or have started working within the positioning, navigation and timing areas, including related technology, systems and applications, then this Webinar is for you. The Webinar will also be relevant if you are interested in finding out more about resources and how to approach CPD and training.
Episode 2 Presenters:
John Pottle, Director, RIN: John started out as a communications engineer, working in satellite communications and then moved to cover all-things-navigation related from 2002. A key priority for the RIN is to share knowledge to build understanding, thereby stimulating insights and innovation. Easy to say but not easy to do in an area as vast as PNT and its associated systems and applications. John will aim to orientate you and help to show key resources that he believes will be really useful but you may not know about!
Dr Heidi Thiemann is Director and Co-founder of the Spaces Skills Alliance. Heidi started with her first telescope aged twelve and was quickly hooked. She has a degree in Physics and Space Science from the University of Leicester and a PhD in Astronomy from The Open University, where she analysed astronomical data sets (and baked prize-winning astronomy cakes). As well as extensive data analysis skills, she is passionate about education and training for the space sector. She has been a mentor and organiser for Space School UK, and led the development of space apprenticeship qualifications in Cornwall.
