You can also use rice, corn, potato, or tapioca starch for pulling and it isn't as flour. Or even powdered sugar!
Im not wasting rice.
Is there some type of flavoring I can use
@@pokechris1111 I think usually you wrap sone nuts with dragons beard candy so i guess you flavour it like that
@@pokechris1111Confectionery Sugar works well

Burned yourself and still continued..That's dedication right there 👏
Hahaha I read that as “that’s delirium right there”
For anyone wondering you can make candy things without a candy thermometer by looking up a guide on line, you will need to get a container of cold water and spoon some your sugar mixture into the water, the texture it turns into in the water will tell you roighly what stage you have your sugar at (won't work if you need a very accurate temperature but you rarely do usually you just need to get it to a certain stage which has a range of temperatures)
I don't have a thermometer so please can you say me how many minutes I'll boil it?????
@@lailajaffer2743that's literally the point. 🤦♀️😝🤣 It's NOT 🚫 about minutes. You could do EVERY SINGLE thing EXACTLY the same and if you use the exact same time it'll be different EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's NOT about time. It's about the STAGE. If you're making soft caramel for sauce ect then when you spoon it into cold water it'll be soft still. If you want something with hard set, for decorating ect when you drop it in the water it'll immediately solidify. If you can say what you're trying to make I might be able to be more specific. But I WILL say that a thermometer costs next to nothing. If you have one for meats you could use that, that's what I did. 😂 But I often make caramel for sauce and it's SO easy to make. I prefer the leave it the fnck ALONE method. 😂 You stir till the sugar dissolves and then.... You LEAVE it. Swirl the pan gently at the MOST. Use a silicone brush or spatula dipped in water to wipe the crystals above it on the edges of the pan. Dip it back in water constantly, every couple of touches. Just don't make it so wet it drip into the caramel. When it reaches a soft golden colour, well hydrated pee colour 😝🤣 Add salted butter, KerryGold is BEST, cream and a little baking soda constantly stirring like crazy and when it reaches the consistency and taste you want you're done. Enjoy. You can store in the fridge for ages and freeze for easy days. 😂 If you freeze a thick sauce you can smash it up into little pieces and scatter over cookies and cakes halfway through baking for a BEAUTIFUL caramel sauce. But it needs to be a really thick sauce. I will make large batches and pour half out thick, freeze that and then I'll use the other half as a thinner sauce by adding more cream and butter. You can even add Bailey's to it after you've added the butter and half the cream, then you just substitute the final amount of cream for Bailey's, and even a little Kahlua. Which just makes ANYTHING with chocolate and or coffee taste SOO fancy 😂 I usually add a little vanilla or a little something something, just add after the first lot of butter and cream when the temperature has been substantially lowered. The same for any colouring you want to add.

So what stage do it have to be to make this Desert
In India we use besan (gram flour) to make this and its called 'son papdi'. Its absolutely delicious
Yes it's really hard to make and it's our tradition from 200 300 years ago
Sohan papdi and dragons beard are two different things the output is different
I love Sona padi 😋😋
Isnt soan papdi made from a syrup?
In Pakistan it's patisa but man I LOVE ITTT, whether it is soan papdi or patisa both are yum❤️❤️❤️
Are you ok It's hot boiling water.❤❤

shes like the male version of the guy thinking that his "ego is thriving" but way more chill and actually makes dragon beards candy
As someone who's gotten a 3rd-degree liquid burn, I felt that. Literally, I remembered exactly how it feels and was wincing in empathy.
Oh shit... That burn😢.
Also , thanks for this. I almost thought I could try it without a candy thermometer 😂
I love hearing everyone’s names for this. Dragons beard is definitely one of the cooler ones.
Tip: you can use powdered sugar for a sweet taste, and you can also add food colour in the sugar for a coloured dragons beard
That looks really yummy, even if it is just sugar and flour
Well it’s corn starch, because raw flour is highly dangerous.
@@CoolRanchPropagandashe used flour
@@peridotgaming5894 I hope she heat treated it in that case
@@CoolRanchPropaganda I think in america flour is already pasteurized
@@peridotgaming5894nope. They had a bunch of recalls recently because people were getting e-coli from it
As someone who has gotten a second degree burn before, that sh!t hurts, hope you’re okay!
The universe *REALLY* didn’t want her making that candy
I’m just amazed that people came up with this dessert back in the day before modern stoves, thermometer, and machines to powder the sugar existed. It must have taken so much talent and hard work. Whoever came up with the recipe must have been a culinary genius!
She is the definition of never back down never give up
You can also heat up the flower before so that it could be warm and stretchy for a longer period of time 😊
You can figure out if you have hard ball sugar by dropping a bit into water and see if it hardens. My mom used to do that when making Italian meringue buttercream
There is something thats very similar to this in Turkey. It is called “pişmaniye”. The recipe is fairly different but it looks kinda similar.
If you bake the flour before you put the candy in it, it keeps the candy warm while you’re pulling it
The way she tried to catch the mug with the hot water but ended up just throwing it was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Bud got second degree burns and still gave it another shot ❤
Best yt channel
getting second degree burns and just “I’m not a giver upper😊😊” and continuing to make the thing that burned you is just madlad shit
Making dragon beard was the real challenge compared to getting 2nd degree burns, that’s a walk in the park!
Instructions unclear, got second degree burns pls send help
Girl A 2ND DEGREE BURN THAT'S KNOWN AS THE WORST PAIN IN THE WORLD!
Burning yourself and slipping is such "Me" Energy LOL
My heart goes out to you for spilling that hot water on yourself and giving yourself a second degree burn. A couple months ago I had a cup of water that I JUST POURED from my electric kettle and spilled it on myself as well, giving myself a second degree burn on my stomach.
We call them Grandma's Hair (Rambut Nenek) here in Indonesia. However, we used a bit of lime juice and served them sandwiched between Pink-colored rice paper crackers.
Miss girl just got a second degree burn and acted so casual abt it 😭
It looks great! It just takes practice and patience. 😉👍🏻❤️I always had it filled with coconut or a peanut mixture, but that’s when I first tried it at the Asian market near my house and I’m obsessed with it! Lol
poor girl, we appreciate how determined you are to impress us
NAW GIRL R U OK?? I BURNED LIKE A TINY SPOT ON MY FINGER AND IT FELT HORRIBLE
The trick Is baking the corn starch ( or whatever you’re using ) first. It’ll give you more time.
As a person who witnessed many dragon beard candy in the making, this is like seeing someone using the wrong formula but somehow got the answer right.
You can also use a bit of Lorraine candy flaviring oils. My grandkiddos like the cotton candy one but the adults liked strawberry. We wrapped it around a chopped mixed nuts. The crunch of the nut mixture and delicate strawberry was nice.
The kids didn't care for the nuts in the middle.
And I agree with other posters/ comments saying use tapioca starch or even corn starch with a bit of powdered sugar really helps.
You are the most daring girl I have ever seen. Just trying again after getting second degree burn.
So much chaos in one 30 second vid
bro got a second degree burn and continued with her day 💀
Holy shit. Great job on the candy, hope youre healing well- burns suck
That looks so good! Great job btw
Keep up the work. Its good that you didnt give Up!
She said “i got a second degree burn” so nonchalantly like girl you good 😭
AINT NO WAY SHE GOT A SECOND DEGREE BURN AND JUST IGNORED IT😭💀
Girl you’re not the only one with burns I spilled soup on my self 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂hope you heal soon 😊❤
In Indonesia this is a sweet snack that's pretty easy to find in minimarket in individual plastic package, called "rambut nenek" (literally mean 'grandma's hair' in english), with plain rice wafers sandwiched the candy. Back then a lot of grandpa or grandma sold it and street food snack like they served it fresh when you bought it but now there isn't any of them anymore.
SHE DID IT CORRECT!! :0
Someone call that “my ego is still thriving” dude cause his ego aint gonna thrive no more after this 💀
I know how you feel when you have burn. One day, I was making noodles, I tried to grab it out of the microwave, but then I somehow spilled them all over my face and down my shoulder, and I had to go to the ER the next morning because it bubbled up
I made some with my grandma a few years ago and it was really fun, we mixed in some citric acid and sour apple flavor
“How hard can it be?”
*gets a second degree burn*
You said it so casually I’m concerned, hopefully it got better!
Omg I wish I could have that right now! It looks so good! And I hope you feel better!
if you ever have plans on making this again, before folding and pulling the sugar you can heat up the corn starch so the melted sugar wont harden so much 😊
THAT FALL 💀💀💀
Thats cool. Never heard of it. Looks great
Literally other youtubers struggling with this but uhandled it like a boss😂
I love how she didn’t give up after she BURNT herself and failed many time
Oh my gosh, that looks SO satisfying to eat. Looks like I gotta go give myself a second-degree burn!
girl i feel so bad but its funny at the same time 😭
“I’m not a giver upper!”
Me: trying to find the word that she was thinking about but it slipped my mind too 💀
*Gets second degree burns*
"Tis but a scratch."
“The sugar was so temperamental.”
The sugar: 😡😡😡
Oh no! I hope you feel better after that terrible burn!!!
My dyslexic self: *reads “bearded dragon candy”* uhhhh what
Congratulations for your perseverance 💪🏾🙌🏾
Honestly this would be so cool to use as cake decor!! Like fake edible hair or edible sheep wool! Just ideas!
Tybott has tried endlessly and still hasn't successfully done it
You should use powdered sugar for a better taste
This girl is a survivor😂😂😂
It’s really nice, I’ve tried it several times, in fact I’m eating it rn!
It turned out really beautifully in the end 🥹
girl are you ok you made it seem so chill that you got second degree burn😭
I hope ok have a painless recovery! ❤❤
I admire your perseverance because to the way I would have gave up after the first failed attempt. 😂
I’m so sorry for you!!!!! Hope your okay :( anyways, I love your video!
You can also test the mixture with cold water once it is combined and comes to a boil then use a spoon and drop a little into cold water. If it comes together as a ball it's finished and if it stays soft keep boiling. We never had any thermometer growing up we had to do it old fashion...
If cheese and cotton candy had a baby
I shouldn’t be laughing at the hot water but it was so unexpected are you okay girl😭
I applaud these efforts 👏👏👏
You're genius! I love龙须糖!❤
I live how resilient u are!i hope ur ok :)
talking about burns, i was making caramel and i accidently splashed a tiny amount of hot caramel on my arm
Her experience was harder than it normally should be💀
Her :*gives herself second degree burns*
Also her: okay so were was I?
This was my favorite childhood food! it still is sksk its delicious!
I’m patient, but i don’t even think I have the patience to make this
i love how real she is 😭😭
Me causally doing this without a mold or candy thermometer when I was 16 and managing to make them
girl i feel ur pain. When i was a kid my mom made me soup and i accidentaly spilt all the hot soup on me
Omg!! Same thing happened to me while making tea on vacation! There was no where we could book a doctors appointment too 😅
It looks pretty like pişmaniye (halva fluff) we eat, except it covered with starch or something like that so strings don't stick.
Dragon's Beard Candy is just Turkish Delight with extra twist and turn.
Hope you're better!! Burns are terrible, and I hope it doesn't bothered you too much once tou got to cool your skin.
And so... after watching this girl struggling so much and finally getting the desired result, I've came to the conclusion that I actually can live without this candy but it's still awesome to watch.
Hope u r ok now. Keep making this sort of content!😊
U a trooper for that, I would've given up after some hot water spilled all over me 😂
This same thing happened to me! So first try I undercooked it and didn’t have thermometer, the next time I got and I accidentally let it sit too long, and tried to warm it up in the microwave, but ended up burning my finger really badly. I haven’t tried a third time, but I’m about to
