Hi guys, today I'm going to fix the annoying gear engaging issues on my HG P407 Tamiya Bruiser clone. If you like this video, give us a thumbs up and subscribe. See you!
just an FYI in the bits bag you get with this kit are 2 white plastic guides that are used to calibrate the shifting servo. great for getting the correct positions for a direct alignment
Can you please help me my controllers are reverses and yes I can just switch the reverse button but its not accurate when using lights and engine sound as the reverse is forward and forward is reverse
I have a question, if I want to use the original esc, I have some questions. What are the different jumper settings? Nothing is shown in the manual or markings on the esc itself.
@@TheDIYGuy999 Fine, I will go for 3s, I have taken away the servo saver and shifted to the Dumborc and set up the endpoints of ch 4, it's works great no issues what so ever. Of course taken apart all gears etc. and added some more grease ( Tamiya Cera grease, which is great both for metal and plastic). Only the rear diff locked, would like to avoid to much stress on the gearbox.
I know, that the diffs can be locked, but the tire wear would be enormous, because I also drive it on tarmac quite often. So I added super thick 500000 cst silicone grease to the diffs. This makes them stiffer, but still movable. I think it is a good compromise. I agree, that these tires are crap, but I like them anyway, because the Tamiya Bruiser was my dream RC car, back in the 80ies.

Yes, I know, but I preferred to take my own measurements, especially for the 2nd gear
I thought 2s was good but this video has convinced me to go 3s on mine
Yes, you should try 3s
I got the same shifting problem with mine. I will try this fix. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome
Hey.. i have the same problem.. but is it posible to make things worse in the process,? I was not confidence with my technical skill .. ?..
Can you please help me my controllers are reverses and yes I can just switch the reverse button but its not accurate when using lights and engine sound as the reverse is forward and forward is reverse
Great job on the repairs!! Nice trail run as well.. 👌🏻👍🏻
Thank you
WOW!!! powerful... nice fix... great trail runs...
Thank you!
Is it possible to remove the 2nd and 3rd gears completely from the gearbox and just have that running on 1st only without 2nd servo?
I think you could replace the gears you don't want with spacer bushings, but I don't see the point of doing that.
By any chance do you know what pitch the stock motor pinion uses?
i always wished that someone could make and overdrive mod for this.... you know make the front axle spin a bit faster then the back .... for crawling
There is two servo trim knobs one of them might be for the transmission servo
I don't use the stock electronics
Nice work, as usual 💪👍
Thnx
please do a review of URUAV CR24 1:24 crawler, Thank you!
Hmm, I'm afraid this thing is a bit too small for me
@@TheDIYGuy999 Oh ok! now worries, thank you! and once again, thank you for the nice content :-)
You're welcome. I just prefer vehicles in 1/16+ scale

Sorry, this is the kit version, so I don't have the original ESC
Did you uprgade the factory servo? I'm also facing the same issue
It is the kit version and I used a metal gear servo.
@@TheDIYGuy999 so only change the servo it would resolve the issue?
@@ind23031980 no, but it will help.
@@TheDIYGuy999 thanks will give a try
I really appreciate your videos! I just wonder, which kind of grease&oil do you recommend for the diffs and the gearbox?
Thank you. For the diffs super thick 500'000 cst silicone grease from HUDY, for the gearbox just ordinary ball bearing grease or WPL grease
@@TheDIYGuy999 hey. do you have a link to the grease. I can't find it.
@@TheDIYGuy999 i use 2.000.000 in my tamiya transports, it still has some differential action at low rpm
I have the same problem.. 👍
Any issues with running the 3s setup? Gearbox /diff/driveshafts?
No, everything is fine so far

Now you just need to lock the differentials and get softer tires! Then it'll really climb!

What's the link to the controller you're using?
It is DIY:

Why not just change End Point Adjustment. Too complicated. Did it on mine and no more issue on shifting.
My favorit swiss rc master 👌
Thanks
