So at one time she could actually sing…????

I really do like Shania but I just never saw the purpose of anyone singing anyone else's songs. This is Ronstadt's song. No one will ever sing it like Linda. And besides. With all of Shania's albums, she couldn't sing one of her few hundred songs?

Ironic that you bring that up on this song. Almost all of Linda Ronstadt's hits were covers.
Love is a Rose - Original artist is Neil Young
That'll be the Day - Original artist is Buddy Holly
When Will I Be Loved - Original artist The Everly Brothers
You're No Good - Dee Dee Warwick.
The list goes on and on...
Most of Shania's hits were written by Shania.

@@amoskowitz0103 ok I got your point. But still I grew up on the radio where I've heard Linda Ronstadt sing this song. And regardless. Linda Ronstadt has this song hammered.

This was in 1993 before Shania had any of her own "hit" songs. Her debut album titled Shania Twain released in 1993 was all cover songs except one," God Ain't Going To Get You For That" . That album was not a success. The first album of hers & Mutt Lange's songs was The Women In Me released in 1995. That album launched her into the stratosphere & the rest is history to her fame & fortune.

@Ben OAt that time Yes, & only one song on that album was one of her own.
