I am loving this so much! I was sad the SQ series just didn’t have the aesthetic loveliness of the Midas M series, but these are beautiful, roll bar and all! Plus functionality up the wahoo. I really hope they do a rack size version!
I have an sq6 I purchased recently. Up to this point I love the console but have noticed many threads of comments talking about problems with these consoles. Not only sq but avantis and dlive too….Common sense tells me that if these comments are not happening about Yamaha consoles, Yamaha must be more reliable. Now there are many saying they haven’t had any problems with them. The thing is I don’t want to be one of the ones having a problem in the middle of a show or before a show with no chance to change consoles.
OK. Now take one small screen. Take all nice FX, simplify it and make new Xone DB4 mixer with build in FX and Compressor/Limiter similar to Roland DJ 707M controller. We need now king of digital DJ mixers with full customization, FX, and Production tools for mixing and music production (filters, compressors, etc.).
SQ is the upgrade path of Qu, while this replace GLD series. It is more about the workflow ( independent 2 bank fader vs 1 combined bank fader) but sound wise outside of deep dyn8 probably doesn't differ much between them if you use Dlive stagebox. Oh and this support 64 channel processing vs 48 across SQ so there's that.
@@steakikan thank you sir for the reply. Ever since then I've learned a lot about my board. I found out that I don't need no where near 7 layers lol or 12 auxes lol
Not that it matters a whole lot, but Tim pronounced Avantis two different ways: the second 'a' like in 'pawn' and short like it 'pan'. Is there a correct way to pronounce the name?
Unless I'm wrong, you'd have to get it to your DAW via Dante or something similar with one of the card slots. The USB slot that is built in is for simple stereo recordings from the console.
@vDosc UV7 I am just think mayly for workflow and if for some reason this would sound better than Plugins...or maybe not better that some of the best Plugins....
Hey, thank you for reaching out. If you are looking for an Allen & Heath board in the same price range as the M32, you would want to look at the SQ7 console. I would look at them, though, from what the features of each console are. There are a ton of feature differences between all of the consoles in this price point, and you would want to make sure to find the one that has all the features you are needing for your application. Give us a call and we can gladly talk you through getting the right console for you. Thanks, Grant Embury, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1647, Grant_Embury@sweetwater.com
jmizz15212 Films J-jigga You could buy an X32 or M32! Pretty good for its price in my opinion :) Use it in the studio instead of an analog board because I like the flexibility more.
Your probably looking at something more like an x/m 32 maybe even the presonus studio live 32 but if you really want an A&H there's the QU line all the way up to 32 or the sq-5. The m 32 and x 32 is mostly likely your best bet though.
I have a Yamaha mixer on which the firmware has not be updated for 5 years. Its a stable as a rock and I don't need it to do anything else. Whats the problem?
@@kutto5017 Our old AWE4416 stopped working with anything after WindowsME, our partner studio has a DM2000 that doesn't work at all with Windows. We recently sold our Tascam DM4800 (thank gawd) to some sucker. That stopped working with Firewire about 2 years ago.
from a "user interface" and design standpoint, this looks elegant and awesome

its so cool small yet so powerfull...a laptop pro tools and that mixer for a live recording out of the studio
This interface is so beautiful! I thought It was an A350 cockpit 🙌
Looks like an airplane cockpit! Sweet design!

Tmp Name absolut 👍🏻
What else are you complaining about?
why does it have a roll cage...?
For when you take it off-roading

How does this mixer play with DAW's?
Was about to ask the same. Looks like you don't have an answer from 4mo. ago.
Same?!

very badass. feels like the music industry is catching up with the real world.
I wonder if using this Console would sound better than using Plugins to mix a REcord

@vDosc UV7 THANKS...WHAT DO U MEAN ANY ONE OF THE 6?
@@bluematrix5001 I think he means the Universal Audio Apollo X6 and Upwards (in cost & Features)
I wish Allen & Health would not nickel and dime us on plugins .. Just add them .
Is this specific model on the same tier as Midas m32

All these digital mixers are nothing more than very expensive DAW control surfaces.
It's been like that for awhile now. Basically the "stagebox" is the actual mixer / brain these days.
They aren't. It's for live sound. Not studio.
The latency insanely low on full load

All very nice, until they stop supporting the driver software. Then you've got a nice digital doorstop.

@vDosc UV7 The O2R hasn't been supported by Yamaha since about 5minutes after the O2R 96 was released.
