Hi Becky, I just wanna say how much I love listening to your videos. I am totally blind and I want to say thank you so much for always talking about the recipe amounts that you make and also how to make the recipes. Hope you have a wonderful day I am going to try your families sausage, stuffed sweet mini peppers. Can’t wait to try it. It sounded so good. I had to do a grocery pick up order so I can get the stuff to make it. Hope to hear from You
You are so welcome! Thank you so very much for listening to my videos! I am working on the sound quality so I hope you can tell it has been better!
I am blind also. Becky’s videos gives me the confidence I need in the kitchen.
@@tennagrover6140 thank you so much I have to say that I really don’t know maybe but one or two other blind people so it’s so nice to have you reply to this comment. Maybe we can talk again thank you again that’s awesome totally made my day.
I noticed the sound is improving ❤
🥲 love you crystal 🌹
“This book is a small batch preserving book.”
Five minutes later.
“Alright so we’ll be quadrupling this recipe.”
😆 Becky doesn’t do small batch anything.
😂😂👍🏻
Omg Becky you made it 500k! Huge congrats!! I’ve been watching for years now and I’m so proud of you! This is such a wonderful little space on the internet so thank you💖
That is awesome, so well deserved!!
It is a blessing! Thank you all for being so supportive!
@@AcreHomesteadBecky you are truly wonderful , thank you for being your sweet self ❤❤
It may have already been said, but it might be easier to pull carrots by pushing down first and then pulling straight out! Love the video! Thanks for taking the time!
Small step saving tare-tip: put your empty bowl on the scale first, and then switch it on.
Genius 😆
Congratulations on 500K! That’s incredible and well deserved. 🌺
You must be so proud of how well your garden turned out your first year in your new home!! Love all your recipes and watching all the things you do in your kitchen and your garden. I don't often get to costco so I really miss watching you shop there, lol. Have a wonderful weekend!
The glass measuring cups are used for liquids. The stacked measuring cups are used for solids.
Becky, it's so Cool hanging out with you & seeing the delicious food in your garden.
So glad to see you put the gloves on! Years ago, when habaneros were just making their way into popular culture, my mother and I did a canning project without knowing the exact heat levels. I had a test that night for statistics and my professor sent me home as soon as I finished it because of the redness of my hands. Found out that soaking the hands in milk helps cut the pain...
Several years ago, I embarrassed myself at a Mexican restaurant while eating some "mild" salsa (I don't tolerate the hot stuff). As I was gulping down my water, which wasn't helping things, my sweet waiter calmly handed me a glass of iced tea. I gulped it down and was able to breathe and talk again. He explained that the tannins in the tea interacted with the capsaicin to help neutralize it. I've never looked that up, but it worked! I didn't even care that the tea was unsweetened 😂
It's so beautiful putting a carrot you grew from seed to that.
Becky! Just want you to know , you are the one that's first on my list of favorites ! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos! You are the best!
As someone who is allergic to pepper and has asthma, I can't tell you how appreciative I feel of your comment on air quality while you were making these recipes. It was also nice for you to express that your husband probably would touch one of the recipes, but your brother would love it. It just acknowledged the differences in people. I think that is just one of the things that makes you great at what you do. Love your videos.
Becky, I love love love it when you walk out to your garden for ingredients! You have a lovely piece of land and I have enjoyed watching you improve it and making it your homestead. You are amazing! Thanks for the warning on the asthma, had this happen with a family member and it can be so dangerous.
My ex husband and I had a garden at our house. We grew a bumper crop of Habanero peppers. He was the heat monster ...not me! When he was processing the peppers I had to leave the house. I was choking so badly on the airborne pepper. I have occasional asthma and those peppers really had a bad effect on me!
What a wholesome and respectful community you have in your comment section. Both me and my mom love watching your cooking videos together for quite some time now and it’s my favorite part of the day. We appreciate your attention to detail and all the hard work you put in to give us quality content such as the camera, microphone and great camera angles. Thanks for another fun video ❤
Wow, the colors are so vibrant in your garden after a rain. Beautiful.
Becky, it probably doesn’t make or break this recipe, but liquid measuring is traditionally done in liquid measuring cups not the dry measure flat top ones. The measurements are slightly different for the two. Mostly the liquid measure gives you an accurate amount when you get the cup up to eye level to see the liquid at the correct line - and it’s much easier to not spill it!! I love your channel and this hot sauce recipe looks sooo great I’m going to have to try it. I don’t eat sugar though, so I’m wondering whether it would suffer terribly without the brown sugar. Maybe with stevia instead?
@@cynthiafisher9907 thanks - will see what I can find. Now that I’m thinking about it, I haven’t seen any store bought canned foods containing stevia. Maybe just leave it out, or add a tiny bit at the time of serving would work.
Everything looks so beautiful with the overcast/rainy weather 😍
Becky, you are such an amazing woman, being a mother, wife, homesteader, and teacher to us to help preserve food. I have been following your channel for a while thank you so much Blessing to you and your family.😊
The tree you kept near the house is beautiful. And I think I peeped another beautiful red near the older strawberry / garlic area. And everything just popped in beautiful color in the rain. Annnnddd the shirt! I am in fall heaven watching this episode.
In a world with so much going on all the time, so many complicated issues, and things we couldn’t even have considered to happen a few years back, its so refreshing to see a childlike excitement and enjoyment for simple things like your food processor chopping jalapeños or watching you enjoy trying out new recipes. And, your audio sounds great with the mic!!
Becky, you are very adventurous. I never double a recipe, canning or other until I know that I like the way it turns out.
I'm with you on smaller jars. I use pints and half-pints almost exclusively (I'm canning for just myself). When Baby Acre gets bigger you will probably use quart jars again.
Your garden an carrots look stunning. Your so fortunate to have a beautiful garden. 😊
"I found a new recipe I've never tried before so I'm doubling it and switching around some of the ingredients" 😂 Me too, Becky. Me too. Never found a recipe I could follow. Thank you for showing us how creative we can get in the kitchen!
Haha YES! That is me as well for sure!
I love pepper jelly! The red is so pretty with cream cheese for the holidays!
Hey Becky! Great video, as usual. I have the same kitchenaid attachment. Just wait until you use it for bulk chopping onions. GAME CHANGER! It is obviously not worth it for one or two onions, but when you have a big cooking day or you need to chop a lot, it is very helpful.
Also the softer the food the lower the speed and the harder the food the higher you want the speed to be. I want to like it for tomatoes, but for me they come out mushy rather than diced (but I was having problems with my lower gears on my mixer, which I have recently replaced), that has just been my experience, you may feel differently.
I also love to use it for celery, potatoes, and occasionally carrots (I get a little paranoid because they are so hard)
Congratulations..500🎉🎉. You are so cute tasting your hot peppers! Wishing you 500 more!
I'm 84 and never had a problem hearing Becky. I will say soom questions that are asked Becky has already mentioned in her video's.ALOHA
I made carrot cake jam this year. Definitely one to make again next year.
Omg 😮! That sounds amazing! Maybe you could share the recipe???😇
Sounds interesting!
I think I used the recipe from ATaste of Home web site. @@judithburke1539
I diced my cowboy candy when I saw your first video on cowboy candy! Easier to put on a cream cheese cracker! Yummy The Freezer roasted tomato salsa I’ll be doing every year! I’ll be growing tons of tomatoes every year, doing more raised beds! It’s the way to go! Love roasting my Salsa Verde also! It’s a big hit in the homestead!! Got my Vita-mix immersion blender like the one you got HEAVY EQUIPMENT LOL!
Your gardens are beautiful. I so enjoy watching your channel
Your Yard looks simply Beautiful 😍 Good Job to your landscaping Company.
Thanks Becky! Cowboy Candy Relish!! What an awesome idea. I've always done them in rounds.
I JUST got the dicing attachment for my kitchen aid! LOVE using it to dice bell peppers to have in the freezer for soup! Thanks for the video, Becky! Much love from Iowa.
I too am from Iowa...Dubuque :)
I am also from Iowa. Knoxville
Hi Becky you should not use wooden spoons or any other kitchen .
The hot pepper can stay for a long time.
And a big CONGRATULATIONS👏👍🥳🎉🌟✨💥👏👌🌹💐🏵️💮🌸🌻⭐🌟✨💫🌶️🥕🥭
Thankful to be watching Becky!! Happy Friday friend
I have that attachment too. Made Cowboy Candy with red and green jalapeños and gifted 4 is jars for Christmas. A big hit
Adorable shirt!!! I love those fall colors!! 🍁🍂
I made your Chicken, Sun Dried Tomato Pasta from about a month ago. It is in my top favs now. It is so delicious and creamy and freezes wonderfully! I think it gets better the 2 nd time. Thanks for all you do!
I prefer my peppers chopped/diced for cowboy candy myself 👍👍 love to use in meatloaf. Hope you’re having a great day Becky! 🫶
Congrats on your channel reaching 500 thousand. Happy to be a long time sub🌶.
I haven’t been watching your channel very long so I’ve been Becky binging🤣 love your channel! I can’t get over how gorgeous everything outside is. It’s immaculate!!!❤
I bought that cookbook for my birthday and I’m incredibly excited to try the recipes. I’m giggling that I bought it right before you released this video. My husband is really intrigued about the carrot one. We like heat but we also want our sauces to have flavor. So I’ll probably make that one first.
I just discovered your channel and I absolutely love watching you. I have been using America’s test kitchen for years. They really are the best when it comes to recipes. I’m so glad you found them. ❤
Congrats on 500k 🎉and well deserved 👏 ❤ glad you have better sound too 😊😊😊
I made your breakfast burritos which were so good. I make habanero strawberry jam and normally I add sour cream and hot sauce, but this time I added habanero strawberry jam to the tortilla shell and added eggs, sausage, potatoes, and cheese. Paired well together. I think I even like those burritos better than I do with the hot sauce and sour cream at least when I eat them as a breakfast item.
Yes wearing the gloves is a must with hot peppers but you have to remember by touching other items with the gloves that you used when cutting those peppers you are transferring the capsaicin to those items there for if you touch those with you bare hands you could still have the burning afect as well.
You should have a party for landscapers so they can see the beauty that they helped create.❤
pam she did give them a party...haha a Party in their Mouth! She sent them on their way at the end of each day w/homemade Cookies~
Such a cute idea!
She spoiled them rotten with all the treats. I bet they miss working at your place😊
Tip: if you want to remove seeds in jalapeños, easiest way for me is to cut pepper in half lengthwise, then use a grapefruit spoon to scoop seeds out.
That cowboy candy brine is the PRIMARY INGREDIENT in my cornbread. 2 box mix, 1 can cream style corn, those jalapeños and enough of that brine to make it pourable. Even spice haters love that cornbread.
Texas lady also. I will have to try that.
That’s sounds delicious!
I love the autumn plaid shirt! Thanks for your videos & Congrats on 500k subscribers! Will you do a celebration?
You will like the chopped jalapeños for the candy. I follow Rachel's recipe and it's delicious and works well in smaller pieces.
Your canning recipes look really good. I too use pints & half pints. I just made pepper jelly. Tomorrow will be pumpkin butter.
I just canned some Cowboy Candy for the first time the other day and we absolutely love it. Congrats on 500k! Great video. I’ll probably try making the hot sauces.
Becky ❤where did you get your shirt? I love all the fall colors 🍂 😊
Beautiful garden carrots❤always a blessing watching your videos❤🙏
Another plus for the Vitamix is that it doesn't degrade the nutrients in the food being blended as the regular blenders can!
😀😃😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Thanks Becky!
I always check out cookbooks and preserving books from the library and if I love them I purchase them. I've found several new favorite books on my list to buy!
Thrift stores are also a great place to look if you can! I've got many great ones for a quarter lol
Congrats on having over 500k subscribers! I've been watching your numbers climb since 200k. I know your channel will continue to climb because you are a fantastic utuber, your are my favorite and I look forward to watching every episode. Keep up the great work! God bless you and your wonderful family.
Hi Becky! Just saw your garden for the first time and I’m over here like 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Hey Becky!! Looks amazing! I must agree when handling peppers you have to wear gloves. Years ago I was like oh it's only 12 jalapenos....my hands burned all night. Never again will I do that to myself.
Thanks for sharing your fun recipes, even though I don’t like very spicy, it was still fun watching you! Blessings to everyone 🤗💕🇨🇦
❤❤ gloves are always needed. Love the kitchen aid attachments. Thank you😊
Yay I’m home today to watch without stopping, no work, loving it.
Is that your beautiful home behind you? I watch your videos over and over. Good JOB
I absolutely love ur videos and turn them on while im doing dishes, having anxiety, bored, etc. You are my comfort channel for sure. But I also wanted to say that fish sauce usually doesn’t have a strong taste in sauces like this. It just adds a savory element once cooked down!!! Totally understand if u disagree but I hated fish sauce until I used it in reduced sauces and realized that it adds so much depth of flavor and not just that distinct fish sauce taste. Anyways. Love your videos and keep doing you boo! ❤️
Pam here…I got a supply of 3oz jars with black lids that seal in water bath, and I use for gifts for jams. They are so pretty and look more fancy with a gold or silver ribbon on them. When I make jams there is always extra at the end that don’t fit in pints so these little ones fill up nice.
oooooooh, i've wanted that kitchen aid attachment.... hey, love your videos. everything looks so yummy. thanks.
Thank you so very much.
I am SO glad you advised wearing gloves. I made the mistake of not wearing them, made poppers, then took my contact lenses out. When I put them back in my eyes the next morning, I WAS A CRAZY WOMAN! Hurt beyond belief! 😵💫😵💫😵💫🤪 I now even use a plastic bag on my hand to pick out jalapeños at the market. 😂
I grew a whole bed of jalapeños this year and we don’t even eat jalapeños. I currently have about 500 jalapeños in my freezer so I guess I am going to be making some hot sauce or cowboy candy!
You need a steam canner. Uses less water.
Good warning for asthma folks
I made cowboy candy and my husband had to leave the house!
I think you are my favorite human. I am so inspired by all that you do. My favorite part is that you are always you.. just real life. 500 thousand well deserved. But truly you're an inspiration. From a kinda local. Sandy Oregon
Congrats on 500🎉🎉 love the attachment👍🏻would make chopping a lot easier.😊
Hi Becky just wanted to let you know your 1 hour buttery dinner roll recipe at Scratch Pantry has several errors.
I have no respiratory issues and was coughing my brains out when I blended my fermented hot sauce. EXTRA SPICY hahaha delicious.
Great video! You have so many nice peppers. If you’ve never made homemade jalapeño jam you should give it a try. So good.
Omg I’m so excited to try this recipe! Thank you so much ❤siracha is my favorite 🤩
Yay!! A new video!! Woohoo!! Thanks Becky!
Thank you and God bless!
I give this advice often, if you get the oils in your eyes, use clean hair, rub it on your eyes like a towel. Make sure you rub against your eyes well, it will take the sting out. Don’t know how it works but it does.
Nothing like a fresh carrot just out of the garden, they look delicious.
I just love seeing the puppies and run around around you so cute and I can never tell which one is which
I canned up bbq sauce with the leftover cowboy candy brine. So delicious! And a great way to use up tomatoes too.
Oooooooh great idea!!
Congratulations on 500k Becky.....really enjoy watching your video's. Looking forward to the next one. Love and blessings xjx
For cowboy candy I just make the brine and then make as many jars as I can. I make some with jalapenos and put them in jars and then do some with shishitos. I grew habanadas and nadapenos this year and will make some with those as well.
I purchased the Cookbook you borrowed from René. Oh my! I brought it with me on vacation and have about 20 recipes I want to try. They will probably end up being gifts as I don't have a lot of storage room, but I can't wait ti get started.
Sounds like a fun book. Just ordered it.
Hi Becky, I am so happy to see another video of hot sauce making. My brothers and my Dad love good hot sauces. These look not only easy to make but delicious. Thank you so much for sharing .
Just a tip. If you get some juice from the jalapeños in your eye you can rub your eye with your hair and it will take it out. I don’t know the science behind it but it works.
Hey Becky, I love watching your videos and I was wondering with the times now and trying to stockpile some essentials I was wondering if you could touch base on the buckets for storing flour, sugar and beans etc. and how to keep them fresh! You may have a video on this if you do will you link it? Thank you for all you do in teaching us to be better prepared!
Hey! I'm super happy to see how you're growing! I noticed the mike you're wearing...
YAY! There used to be times where you would turn and talk and it would be a little soft....
Glad to see the growth :*
You’re right,great gifts for Christmas!
Hi Becky, the sound is still low most of the time. Lately I have to put Closed Caption on but it is impossible to watch what you are doing while reading the Closed Caption. Take care. ♥️🥰
Your Cowboy Candy is a big hit in our home. I have made it for the last 2 years because you shared with us your simple recipe. Thank you so much🥰
You could substitute Worcestershire sauce for fish sauce, it would still add a bit of depth of flavour!
I’m not a fan of spicy but I still love watching you make it, as well as watching you harvest all your produce. Our garden didn’t do very well this year so we are going to do a covered one. We’re in CA and the sun burns everything and we had lots of insects from the rainstorms. But we’re not giving up! Have got a lot of great ideas from you which are all on the list to make soon!
