In Puerto Rico we have a summer weather all year round,..but I will gladly take a trip to the states just to have the same kind of fun you're having plowing that snow...!!!!
Hey Austin nice video! Great to see the little Carry pushing some snow 👍
These old carbs seem to be a problem on these trucks, I bought mine with carb problems as well, someone messed with all the vacuum lines and choke circuit and screwed up the linkage. I also think the stock jetting is very lean, my Carry had a bad flat spot down low, once I fixed some vacuum line leaks it really helped mine out. I actually bought a new carb with a mechanical choke to install soon so I can delete the entire water heated choke.
I’m also replacing all my coolant lines when I’m in there because I have had a few lines split. I will hopefully have a video of the new carb and how it runs posted sometime soon. Take care Austin 🙂👍
Good deal! Yeah it is running pretty good, just is slow haha
Mine plows like a big truck, and it is way more comfortable than a UTV. When one is sitting without the plow on, it has a a perfect fifty fifty weight distribution front to rear.
Putting the electro hydraulic plow on the front added 280lbs to the front, and took about 60 of the back. I ran buy the concrete plant and had them put some sand in the back, and then went out to the scales and shoveled off the extra until I had it back to a fifty/fifty weight distribution.
I bought chains the first winter five years ago. They are still new in the bag, and taking up space in the tool box. I’m running studded snow tires front and rear, and it has never slipped in snow, and rarely when it is icey.
Two years ago, I bought five bags of sac-crete and put them in the back, right above the axle, instead of loading sand. When spring came I left them in the back, and started luring a cup of water over them every day for about two weeks, until they set up. Then I put numbers on them so I know which one stacks where and took them out. Probably put them back in the bed, and mount the plow this weekend.
NO TURBO. Turbos make top end power. Superchargers make low end torque. Trucks need low end torque. Daihatsu in the late eighties, early nineties put superchargers on their Kei trucks, and turbo chargers on their kei cars, becasue the rucks need bottom end torque, and the cars needed top end horse power. An AMR300 supercharger would be a better solution than a turbo.
Awesome setup man. Thanks for the video.
I was looking at the Carry and thought to myself, “How awesome would it be to have a canvas topper for the back?”. Easily removed and keep stuff dry. I think it would be a great DIY project.
That would be cool!
Ya I've been working RUclips to see any solutions.
I've been wanting one of these but with the dump bed, and rear diff lock. Would make moving dirt, gravel, and rock around the property really nice and easy. Adding a winch and plow would just be a really nice bonus.
A fantastic upgrade from an open-cab tractor. For some reason, I'm betting we see some performance upgrades soon.
Sweet man that worked well! Congrats
Another great vid. Your videos have made me want one.
I want one of those now. Not only to help with plowing but would be an awesome trapping and hunting rig!!
Do it! They are sweet rigs!
Looks like fun snow plowing
Excellent little unit for what you doing sometimes I find those low-end stumbles are problem with the accelerator pump in those carbs thanks for the video.
Yes you did pick a interesting truck.
Plowing is so much fun!
If you have gage pins, you may be able to compare the old and new jets.... that thing makes plowing look fun!
I just made a contraption using a drill operated fluid pump to change the gear oil, swapped the gearing in my Tacoma and the recommended gear oil is 85w140, which is like molasses, made the job super easy.... pfft...and my teachers said i'd never amount to anything....lol
Enjoyed the video!
been folllowing your builds for quiet sometime.. hoping for a samurai/jimny for your next build..
Great video Austin
Nice job as usual Austin! Stay warm mate!
Thanks! Will do!
Looks good my guy
Awesome dude love it!! Here in Colorado we despirately need snow!! Im going to ck golf courses here to see if they have any similar vehicles to buy and work on.
Nice videos! If I can pass on two tricks, they are when you push, after you get to where you want, reverse an inch first before lifting the blade. Second, I had to weld a post and gusset to the plow frame angled about 15° from vertical back towards the bumper, with a single shieve pulley at the top. This way the rope runs straight out from the winch, over the pulley and down to the frame. This takes out a lot of line tension believe it or not. The reverse trick...that's so the blade doesn't try to lift the snow. Couldn't tell you how many times I snapped the cable before. Good luck and keep modifying that thing!
First time watching the channel. That’s an awesome little plow truck! -Chad
Very cool 😎 👌... need a good stereo... a little angel adjustment to the plow helps too... very cool 👍
Austin / Mike I changed every hose.. cooling/vac/fuel on a Sambar made a major difference in the way it was running..
Nice video, little truck is a one off for sure.keep up the great content 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
You can get an inexpensive set of carb jet drills that could help you to a)determine what size jets you have, b)clean them out if clogged or c)drill them out larger if needed. You're probably running rich because they are jetted at the factory for sea level. To lean it out, you'll want to try smaller jet sizes.
That is awesome and amazing truck.
Awesome video
Dang that looks Fun!!!
Great fun!
coolest thing I've seen in a long time lol
Austin: “Heres the weather report-looks like were gonna get dumped on” welcome to my life buddy 😂💀
Hey Austin…love the Carry videos. I just purchased one for our business in AZ. Now I’m looking for one for my house in Sisters OR. Have you thought about producing any of the parts that you’ve built for the KEI? You have a skill set and tools that I don’t have nor the time to do it with traveling. We’ve named ours “Scary”
Looks awesome.. plowing like a boss..👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽
Thanks 👍
Good video, keep doing what your doing 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thanks, will do!
1000 thumbs. Enjoyed your video, nice format. Eagerly waiting for the snow chain video. I wonder what kind challenge there is to install fuel injection on the motor and if it would help with low end torque? Probably not worth it but just wondering. I rebuilt my first carb at age 17 and not a big fan of messing with carbs mostly cauz I dont know that much about fixing them right.
Im planning a similar setup with a Suzuki Carry as well as using it to pull a tow behind mower in the summer.
Im considering a front mount side by side snow blower but am unsure about the weight.
Damn! Thing sounds like a Diesel big time!
An older Jeep CJ 5 with the 4 cylinder . narrow snow tires on the corners, best rig I've ever plowed snow with. 78 CJ 5, 3 spd manual..
Anytime you can take a terrible chore and make it somewhat enjoyable is a good day. Hope you can find your missing power Austin. Are there engine swap possibilities? ;)
hey man love the videos I really want to tdi swap my 1999 4runner any suggestions on what motor i should use?
I plow with a tractor too. It sucks. Trying to see how these things would handle a bigger snow dump.
It is awesome to see great content coming out of Spokane! Do you know Marcus Anzivino by any chance?? The Mini is awesome!
What you call raising the float, in essence, lowered the float level of fuel in the bowl. In the specs is an actual dimension for the height of the float which could affect the fuel mixture!
This truck is perfectly sized for your property, I can see how it’s preferable to using a tractor for plowing duties.
You should try a Holley sniper EFI conversation
You might want to wax the plow to keep snow from sticking and have you checked the timing ,maybe advance it a little . All I know is that little bugger is going to be the ultimate plowing machine plus just all round handy hauler around the shop & fire wood.
PAM cooking spray works as well, as do most NON Stick sprays
just curious do you check tourque specs for the differential bolts or fo you just put them back in as tight as you can?
Sippin’ a hot cup of joe in the heated cab would be real nice. I’d love a 4wd dumper. Nice shop btw
Yeah it’s not half bad haha thanks!
The Suzuki is coming together bro that was a great investment 🤙🏽
Yes i love this thing more everytime i hop in it!!
wow its just as fast as my quad at this! does it have heat in the compartment ?
Nice one
I want one!
Hey man try adjusting the timing a little bit/check the distributor/vacuum advance and see if that helps that dead spot
Yes, put a turbo on man, that'll be sweet!
An AMR300 supercharger is better for the low end torque you want in a truck. They are about $300 on eBay and Amazon.
What you probably got is a primary circuit partially clogged try removing the diaphragm on to and dumping the carb on CLR this will work on alchohol build up on passages then used carb clean to verify flow . Look on the distributor advanced make sure the counter weight are free and moving
Did you attach plow to bumper or body? Badass!
I know this is one of your older videos and not your most popular videos but, I have a bit of an attraction to these tiny trucks. I don't know if it's because I feel like a little kid about it or, the more practical side of me is thinking about fuel economy, etc. But, I was wondering what kind of realistically possible engine swaps would make this rip (besides the 660 cc). Any thoughts anybody? (realistically)
Check out hard cargo out of Japan. Might give you some more cool ideas! Let me know if you need any parts man.
That hog might need a Shifnoid Lean Out Kit to speed up the warmup! Lol...
Austin check out the Certified Machine Toyota 3K carb swap. That’s what I’m running on my samurai
Time to finish the Tacoma !
What make is the plow? I have a 1998 Honda Acty here in NW Wyoming.
Do you have any videos of installing the winch and/or the plow mount? I'm assuming it's the winch that pulls the plow up and drops it back down, yes? Looking to build out a Sambar
Thanks!
Yes check my other videos, I have one installing the plow and winch
You need Angel Motorsports to swap in a Rotary / C6 in that thing!
I second that, ALH swap!!
Nice video, where did you get the front bumper and the plow set up from?
I built them! Check my other videos!!
I did find your other videos, there going to help attaching a plow setup on my sons mini. thanks
@@earlleighton7385 awesome! Glad I can help!
TDi swop!
Check out Specialty Tires America... American made tires...BIAS PLY TUBE TYPE... and tube less. A good 7.50 x 15... Super Traxion... would be a great snow tire for this rig. Tall and skinny, heavy lugs, can be studded and chained... and with tubes aired down to low air pressure and no bead locks... Those wide tires are great in mud and dirt... floatation... but snow means tall and skinny. Powder and fresh heavy snow they bite and dig in ... for ice and frozen snow..studds and or chains. Especially a light weight rig like this.. add weight in the bed... Then come spring throw the others back on for the mud...
Why not try using the original top end jet combined with the new bottom end jet and see if you get the best of both worlds performance-wise?
Put a water tank in the back for weight, It'll freeze and wont slosh.
What’s that white material on your workbench?
this is a major reason i want a mini truck is to also get off the tractor and plow in covered heat. plus maybe make some side cash on a couple driveways. never know. just for fun
👍
I have a 2008 Suzuki carry. Absolute blast. I almost got a Kawasaki mule then this little gem popped on $500 cheaper. Some things are just meant to be.
Do they make those trucks new
Did you finish up with your green tacoma? I guess now you can do a 1st gen Toyota tdi swap and then a 2nd gen high hp TDI
No its not done! Ill finish that one up soon!
Good sh!t!!
Question: what are the odds that you rhino line it tan and put a flatbed tray on it like the ones that patriot campers make?
LS swap coming. Why not? Everyone does it in everything. 😉 😂 That is a great little plow. Much better than tractor in your application IMHO.
Me myself I would wait and I would purchase a left hand drive truck not a right hand drive it'll screw me all up you all up but to me that seems like a nice little truck to do snow plowing with Please comment back did you have more fun with it or just work it work it thank you for this video I will be looking for one of these trucks
Not enough timing will make a n/a engine gas real bad and have a flat spot on acceleration so Check timing too.
How much do one of these cost
The pilot circuit was to lean, that's where the dead spot was. Pilot circuit runs all the way up to half throttle!
Which is odd because that was with the factory jet. The new one was slightly larger and made a world of difference!
@@austinniemela Do you know what elevation the rig was set for from the factory? You're at around 2,200ft.
I would also check to see if the accelerator pump timing is right (if that carb has an adjustment).. There's so darn many of those type carbs.
Cummins swap 👻👻
Kidding. Tdi swap this puppy
What vehicle is that?
New Comer, l think the truck worked good, how was the r.p.m.'s?
Are these little trucks 🛻 expensive? Yours is none of my business! Just in general and where do you buy them?
Thanks ✌🏻😊 great vidio!
👌✌🏻🤏❄⛄🇨🇦👍😎👋🏻
Is there enough room to use a FCR Flat Slide?
Some people use the yamaha grizzly carb! But with the other jets it runs pretty good actually
@@austinniemela That's a great idea rt there!
Yeah when tuned they work flawlessly 24/7.. The Carb swap would gain you more throttle response over anything!
3:39 spread it and pound it on there
I hav a naughty brain. In sorry man 😭😭😭
Smart move with the pipe
😂😂😂
Where do you get the music from your videos?
Epidemic sound
How much you want for the truck?
Hey Austin. Great video. Sounds like you haven't played with old vehicles much! Carb jets do indeed wear out! At least I've seen it on old Honda CB750 carbs. My personal experience at least.
I have messed with tons of carbs! I have never noticed jets wearing out!
That came with a speed limiter.
Yeah.....a lil' Kei truck......Suzuki Carry KC 4WD ....About a 1996 (ish)........
Sooooo back to the Tacoma??
Yes very soon!
I was watching you plow and wishing you could pivot/angle the blade and save yourself a lot of passes
I have a Polaris Sportsman 570 with a plow now, it is going to be replaced by one of these asap. I am sick and tired of constant problems with the atv, the build quality is ridiculously bad compared to that truck, even if it is well over 20 years newer.
What is a “Carry” ?
The truck is called a Suzuki carry
Get a smaller 3cyl Kubota diesel and swap it!
What kind of truck is that?
Suzuki carry!
@@austinniemela okay thanks
Only took 11 minutes out of 16 to get it in the snow
