I don't get some of these people defending BOCW. Isn't it obvious that they're trying to copy MW for some of the guns? That should be more than enough to be able to make comparisons with both games. And even though the gameplay for each game has different goals, that doesn't mean they should gimp out of other parts of the game. And that also doesn't mean that people can't rightfully criticize them for it. A fast paced, more arcade-y game can have great animations. Just look at Titanfall 2 or Get to the Orange Door for example. They're very fast paced with great animations. Saying that it's okay for BOCW to have an inconsistent animation style and horrible sound design because it's fast-paced and an arcade shooter is not a good excuse. In fact, it's a really bad one.
THANK YOU lets also not forget it's pitiful content like see the arsenal it has less weapons than Black Ops 4 on launch, 6 maps and only 1 map for zombies
Had it not been for MW, i think we would've had another mediocre line of weapon animation and sound design like BO3 and BO4. It's obvious that they're trying to imitate MW's hyper detailed and weighty animation in this game to a lesser success. Btw, isn't this year supposed to be Sledgehammer's year? BO4 only released 2 years ago. They haven't released a COD game since WWII (2017).
@@rifath8152 that’s because call of duty ww2 was a failure and the community hated it so they had to go back to a 2 year cycle and sledgehammer is also working on bocw
The animations feel very stiff in CW, it's like the animators are trying to imitate Hyper's aggressive animations but sadly they just look very stiff. Some of the reloads from Black Ops 1 are smoother than this. Comparing this to MW2019 is already a death sentence.
A thing I've noticed is that the guns in Cold War lack any unique attachments for the guns, like the 9mm/458 SOCOM mags for the M4 or slug rounds for shotguns. Pretty much every gun in Cold War has the exact same attachments.
Infinity Ward: *We want our game to be as realistic as possible.* 3Arc: *OH MY GOD WE MUST TURN GUN SOUNDS INTO AIRSOFT THE KIDS ARE GONNA GET SCARED!*
Modern Warfare is still an arcade to sim-cade game. Even tho they improved the sounds, the reloads and some details than previous CoD's, still the gameplay tends to the arcade style. Treyarch wanted the game to be arcade, so simply, in their balls about the sounds. Their task was mostly to make a fun arcade game, rather than focusing on gun sounds.
something i really appreciate in mw19 is that the semi-automatic gunfire actually sounds like a gun going off. for some reason in a lot of fps games the gun sounds good in full auto but once you switch to semi it sounds really wimpy
Some say it's a downgrade, I say it Treyarch's upgrade from BO4's guns, but even they failed at the 20 round mag model for the m16 sadly, and whatever the hell kind of extended mags the KSP-45 takes (if that was ever a real gun to start off with) and a 3 round burst restricted AUG A1. Whose to say Infinity Ward hasn't had screw ups, their biggest screw up I've seen in MW 2019 was the Kar98K Tactical Strip Reload, it would've worked better if they really showed how many bullets were really meant to be left over on the clip and not just 3 bullets everytime. They have their faults honestly
its still fun to see how cold war is an absolute downgrade to mw edit:(i did really like the campaign and i like the fact they went with the classic cod gameplay formula, i dont hate cold war, its graphics and sound design are the ones i really don't like) another edit: I RESPECT THE DEVELOPERS FOR MAKING COLD WAR, IT DEFINITELY HAS ITS MISTAKES BUT WE SHOULD RESPECT THEM..

In Quality Standpoint? Yes, it is. Animations, Models, Sounds, and alot of stuff in this game is a downgrade. (I do realize it's from the old engine, but MW19 has raised the bar quite high) In Gameplay Standpoint? It's entirely subjective Some people's love BO: CW. And some don't, it's different from person to person.
I wish infinity ward kept making the guns for call of duty, and treyarch made the maps. In my opinion that’s their strong suits and if they combined forces it would be a near perfect game
@@vicho5960 Nope, the clanking sounds that you hear are the 6 bullets removing from the cylinder and falling at the same time you could see it in the video the operator shot the revolver on a environment filled with rocks as well on high ground. I think BoCW feels like a similar role to MW2019, except its a little bit worse. Reason being, well. Its just the same with the difference of BoCW being rushed while MW2019 was made after 5 years, plus they make those things polished. Nevertheless BoCW is decent, but isn’t gonna be in the same high tier as MW2019
I know it is chronologically, but why does MW2019 feel like a sequel to BOCW in terms of quality? MW sounds better, looks better, and the animations feel organic and fluid. Cold War sounds... off? @@johnmeador56 facts
@@johnmeador56 I camp so hard in that game lmao. I'm part of the problem.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
But muH gameplay

A thing I've noticed is that the guns in Cold War lack any unique attachments for the guns, like the 9mm/458 SOCOM mags for the M4 or slug rounds for shotguns. Pretty much every gun in Cold War has the exact same attachments.
So many years and they still don't have 1 in the chamber for non open bolt weapons.

Whose to say Infinity Ward hasn't had screw ups, their biggest screw up I've seen in MW 2019 was the Kar98K Tactical Strip Reload, it would've worked better if they really showed how many bullets were really meant to be left over on the clip and not just 3 bullets everytime.

We all have to realise that animators needs alot of research, time and skill to make realistic and satisfying reloads animations and audio. I do forgive the Cold War team since there were alot of inconveniences during that development.
