Got hard stuck in stage 7 of arcade mode. Which I accomplished with ONLY the info in the Marquee in the collection. Gave this video a quick watch, and it got me through! I can see myself dedicating lots of time to this game. Thanks for the help!
There IS strategy in the snap like you said, but to me it's just cool. My only strategic use of the snap is to get to the healing characters like Jill, Amiga and Rogue. Best 3-man combo is Cable, Cyclops, and Sentinel. BUT, my favorite back-to-back combo is Akuma's flame uppercut, then Jin's mecha guns, then Cap Commando's projectile. The viduals alone are a payoff!
Got the collection today! Been wanting to play this game since I was a kid:) Thanks for clearing up some confusion and giving me some clarity on what the hell I'm doing😅 Dropped a sub, much love brother💜

What up Miguelit0! I'm the opposite. MvC2 was my first MvC game, and when I played MvC3 and realized medium attack had it's own button, I wasn't a huge fan lol. But I'm sure that if you played enough, you'd get used to it and wouldn't mind it! :)
I am just very happy that I got MvC Fighting Collection. Before the Fighting Collection, that game was expensive everywhere. But now, we can all enjoy some good Marvel 😊👍 Thank you Capcom for making this a reality. ❤
you're welcome! be sure to pull up the move list for each character in training mode to learn how to do their supers. not everyone's supers are done the same :)
Sick video. A advanced "throw" mechanic tutorial would be sick. eg. Amingo airthrow in corner or the classic Charlie air back breaker into OTG. Even Shuma into airgrab. I am very inconstant with this. But so many video, people throw successful all the time in crazy situations were I can't even comprehend how it's possible. Can't find a advanced throwing guide anywhere.
Appreciate the compliment, Jaime! Unfortunately I don't really play with low/mid tier characters, but I'll def throw this suggestion in the idea bin and maybe I can make a video about it in the future!
Found an arcade machine in my area had no clue how to play it beyond streetfighter moves so this is just what I need. Thank you. 🙌 but after watching for the video, I realize this is way too complicated for me at my advanced age but I appreciate that this continent exists.

the input for alpha counter is just quarter circle from back to down (not even half circle from back to forward, because quarter circle forward doesnt work), and flying screen's 'hard' knockdowns can actually be OTGd from, just in very specific cases where your character's moves can actually hit the opponent, like when youre in the corner (or OTGing off of jin's blodia punch super midscreen with crouch LK or dynamite, or shuma setups that trigger flying screen lower than usual and let him land and follow up due to jHPs extended knockdown) but great video regardless! its really tricky getting a consistent source of this games intricacies to give to people just starting out because theres just so much
Hey Waffles. Yeah, I've had a couple people point that out about the alpha counter input. I got my information directly from the MvC2 wiki, so I went with that. And I didn't know any better because I always do QCF and it still comes out lol. And you're also right about OTGing hard knockdowns. I forgot to mention that you can't OTG hard knockdowns that specifically have flying screen! I appreciate the feedback and the compliment. Thanks for watching!

My friends and I have played the Xbox 360 version for years. I never owned the game or got good at it when it was in the arcade, so they’ve always been better than me. This guide will help to change that.

Anyways, I hope this dank guide helps some folks who are interested in the FGC to learn more about MVC2 and gives them the tools to whoop some tush at it
Just bought this game for ps5 and I want a fight stick and want to learn this game. It’s so much fun. I’ll play more fighting games with an arcade stick but they’re pricey
Ty for this with the new release of MVCFC. This was a top tier fighting game I never learned properly mainly cuz it was only in the arcades for a while. The only game close to these mechanics I learned was Tasanoko vs Capcom. Again ty sir
@Filth Gnasty this is awesome I want to get into this game now that the MVC Collection is coming out for switch and I may have to buy me an arcade stick for Nintendo Switch. I normally wouldn’t bother but, I think for this game I may have to break down and buy one as I think just a normal pro controller will be too awkward to play this game on
Get the fight stick, you won't regret it! It's a bit of a learning curve but I think it's the best way to play. Practice daily and you'll get used to it no time.
Yo, thanks for noticing! The collection announcement really helped out lol, so I'm grateful for that. If you're into fighting games and give this one an honest effort, I think you won't regret it. It's the best one. :)
Just got the MVC collection today! I’m not a natural-born fighting game player, and when I do I’m more used to MK, so the Capcom fighters have always been quite overwhelming to me. But with this, hopefully I can start to learn!
Thank you! MvC2 is the GOAT. Just in case you didn't know, you can also play this on the emulators Fightcade or NullDC on a desktop/laptop! (if you wanted to get off of PS2)
My suggestion would be to learn top tiers (Magneto, Storm, Sentinel, Iron Man, Cable) if you're actually trying to win a lot. But if you're just trying to have fun and be mostly casual, then have at it with the rest of the cast. But whichever you choose, definitely hit up that training mode!
@@Mario_MartinezF no problem dude! Btw, if you have a PC or laptop, you can install the emulator NullDC and jump into training mode right now if you really wanted. No need to wait. If you're interested, I have a video on my channel that shows how to install and set up NullDC 🫡
Thanks for the brush up, hadn’t played in more than a decade. Your channel is about to get more views with the capcom collection release. You should re-upload this exact video fam, good luck with the channel. Quick question: Apart from Storm and Omega Red, what other characters would you say do well against a “hvb” spamming Cable, I know many people like this and cant stand them😅
Yo knucklehead, I appreciate the kind words! I actually have part 2 of this video queued up for later this morning :). I do think about remaking some of my older content because my video production has gotten so much better but I'll just leave it and make new content. I'm sure it'll be fine! Although Cable is a hard counter to Sentinel, really good Sentinels can still obliterate Cable if they know what to do. Especially when paired with Commando assist. Magneto is pretty much hard counter to Cable, so give ol Mags a try. As a Cable main myself, I actually hate a Cable mirror, so that's always an option. Psylocke is small and fast, so she does pretty well against him. She's so small can wave dash under his standing gun gun gun!
@@FilthGnasty Thanks for the tips fam, Just subbed to your channel, appreciated much. Cant wait to watch pt2 with the release coming 2morrow night. Yeah this pt1 does have 60k views definitely keep it posted. I’ll be ready for all other content. As far as CapCom goes he is good and I used to use him as an assist, gotta give mag a try and learn the robot tho. Didn’t use psylocke much but will try her, that gun gun gun to “HVB” gets frustrating lol. Or Mirror Cable sounds good to me. Thanks again Fam
Yo, what up! Do you mean if only you had a copy of the game? If so, 2 popular emulators you can use to play online are Fightcade (best for online play) and NullDC BEAR (best for training mode). Yo mahvels back baby!! Can u make a video of some low tier synergy characters. Like just some weird combos and stuff you can do with characters that nobody really uses. For me it would be Charlie,Guile, and Cable or Jugg, Colosus and Hulk. U know stuff like that.

Yo, that's amazing! Glad you found it useful. I'll happily make more, just need to gather more subjects to cover. Feel free to leave some suggestions of other things you wanna learn. :)
@@FilthGnasty I think a good video to make would be about movement. If you don't know how to move your character around the screen, you'll never be good at this game.
What's up dude. Sorry if I'm going too fast to follow along. I tried to go slow, showed the onscreen inputs and explained everything as best as I could. But also, this is a guide not a tutorial.
Hey Perceptivision! Honestly, I'm not from the arcade era myself, and I barely started using a fight stick a year and one month ago, so I'm not sure that I'd be the best person to give advice on best practices for fightstick usage. However, what I will say is that - ultimately, it's best to do whatever feels most natural and comfortable to you. And if you ever feel like your execution is impacted because of something you might be doing wrong in terms of hand placement/pressing buttons with certain fingers, it doesn't hurt to ask specific questions to other more experienced players regarding how they press buttons and do stick motions. This is a good video idea though, and I will keep it in mind for the future! Appreciate you watching and commenting. :)
Oh hey, that's a good point! Might use this as motivation to push out some other guides/tutorials I've been wanting to make lol. Thanks for watching/commenting!
Do you think you can do a guide on Marvel Vs Capcom 1? I just started playing on an arcade machine yesterday and I really want to get good for fightcade on pc!
Hey Chaos! Unfortunately I have never played MvC1, so I don't think I'd be the best person to make a beginner's guide on that game. 😥 But good luck on your journey, hope you find the info you need!
Haha, I appreciate the sentiment! I'd say it's mostly because I lack content and am not consistent enough on RUclips, but I'm trying to get better at that. Thanks for the sub, stay tuned for more MvC2 tutorials/guides coming soon! :)
For the wave dash, maybe practice doing it slow first. Make sure you're pressing down at the right time and make sure you're pressing both punch buttons at the same time. For the TK motion, make sure you're ending the motion with up forward. Also try doing it on both sides. I'm better at doing it on the left side than on the right side. It'll take some time to get used to the motion.
@@cw32587 ok that's what I thought was happening ty 🤴 I hope you learn something. I feel like some stuff is basic enough but some stuff might be too advanced lol
What are the inputs for SHCs? Do you start your super, tag in your next character and do the input for thier super? I’m having a lot of trouble with this mechanic!
Hey Dopey! I believe you mean DHC. If so, the steps are: start the super with your point character, and during the super, input half circle forward and both kick or punch buttons OR half circle backward and both kick or punch buttons. As an example: with storm, do QCB and both kick buttons to Hail Storm. During her super, press HCF and both kick buttons to DHC into Sentinel's Hyper Sentinel Force. If I instead you do HCF and both punch buttons, you would DHC into Sentinel doing the Plasma Storm (bubble super). Let me know if that helps!

@@rubenmartinez6541 Hey i dont think so, but im sure it will be easy to find groups who are willing to play by the ruleset(i know thats what my friends and discord ppl are gonna do). That would be amazing if they did a ratio'd ranked mode though!
Got hard stuck in stage 7 of arcade mode. Which I accomplished with ONLY the info in the Marquee in the collection.
Gave this video a quick watch, and it got me through! I can see myself dedicating lots of time to this game. Thanks for the help!
That's awesome, glad I could help! Be sure to check out my other educational content as well, I got a bunch :)
Awesome video. I especially since the collection just came out!
Thank you! Hope it helps. I have lots more other educational content for this game as well if you haven't seen it 😄
There IS strategy in the snap like you said, but to me it's just cool.
Aye, you're welcome! Thanks for watching and I appreciate the sub :)
Finally a beginners guide🎉 I play Tekken 7 25 hours a week and have had interest for 2D games and especially mvc2 and 3rd Strike but i haven't had enough motivation to play mvc2 without a beginners guide.
Oh nice! Glad to know that my video motivates you to start up the game. We need all the new players we can get to keep this game alive. Good luck with learning!
I wish MVC2 had a real medium attack, I like mvc1 because it has a mid attack not attached to L. But because of that, that makes all 4 games unique.
But now, we can all enjoy some good Marvel 😊👍
Thank you Capcom for making this a reality. ❤
I thought the day would never come 🥹. Enjoy the collection and thanks for watching!
@@FilthGnasty You’re Welcome 😊
Happy i found this before MVC collections is out
I'll be pushing out more content in preparation for the release so definitely sub for more 🙂
20 years of not knowing how to do a non team super and now I know. Thank you! I didn't even know there were 2 different ones.
you're welcome! be sure to pull up the move list for each character in training mode to learn how to do their supers. not everyone's supers are done the same :)
This video about to blow up
It has been since the collection was announced lol. It was around 45k before the announcement

Found an arcade machine in my area had no clue how to play it beyond streetfighter moves so this is just what I need. Thank you. 🙌 but after watching for the video, I realize this is way too complicated for me at my advanced age but I appreciate that this continent exists.
If you install the emulator NullDC BEAR, you can practice on a computer for free if you have one! I have a guide on how to set up MvC2 on NullDC here, if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/2Fdk1m_VP08/видео.htmlsi=G682s3-B2fox4wpx
And I appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching!
Thx. Looking forward to playing some mvc2 again.
you're welcome! :)
the input for alpha counter is just quarter circle from back to down (not even half circle from back to forward, because quarter circle forward doesnt work), and flying screen's 'hard' knockdowns can actually be OTGd from, just in very specific cases where your character's moves can actually hit the opponent, like when youre in the corner (or OTGing off of jin's blodia punch super midscreen with crouch LK or dynamite, or shuma setups that trigger flying screen lower than usual and let him land and follow up due to jHPs extended knockdown) but great video regardless! its really tricky getting a consistent source of this games intricacies to give to people just starting out because theres just so much
Hey Waffles.
So my brand new ROG Ally is at the Azus care center for both a broken analog stick and snapped left bumper. Ive only had it for 3 months (this is why you always opt for a protection plan these days). In any regard, ive booted up my 360 for the time being and it STILL WORKS. Found this gem on my downloaded games with 0 chieveo points! So THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!
Yo, sorry to hear about the Ally troubles! I'd be willing to call that a blessing in disguise though, since now you're playing MvC2 lol. Glad that my video has helped, hope you unlock all the achievements!
This is so useful now that I finally am learning Mvc2 in the collection

Just dropping a comment to say this video is so nicely done and the love for mvc2 is showing through the whole thing. Good job.
That makes me feel really good, thanks for the positive feedback! I do love this game and love learning it and teaching it. Just tryna do my part!

Not sure if you heard the news, but MvC2 is being re-released on modern platforms in the new Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics. You could save a few hundred bucks waiting for the collection over a 1up cab 😌
Thank you for providing this video, I never took this game seriously but it has a serious fun factor. Also these games need to grow audiences
You're welcome! Definitely has a serious fun factor. :)
My friends and I have played the Xbox 360 version for years. I never owned the game or got good at it when it was in the arcade, so they’ve always been better than me.
This guide will help to change that.
hehehe, they're in for a surprise! good luck learning the game, i'll have more content for you soon :)
MVC2 is my favorite video game of all time, but I'm genuinely garbage at the game, lol, so im definitely using this video to work on getting at least *good* at the game! Thanks for a great video!
Nice! Glad my videos can help. I have plenty other educational content that can help level you up if you haven't seen any of it yet :)
I have no idea what you're talking about in like 99% of this video, but it makes you happy and you seem to be explaining it well. Plus you're a friggin beast at this so that's cool too. Anyways, I hope this dank guide helps some folks who are interested in the FGC to learn more about MVC2 and gives them the tools to whoop some tush at it
Lol thanks for watching even though you don't play! And I of course appreciate the kind words, big bongo. Youdabes 💚
Just bought this game for ps5 and I want a fight stick and want to learn this game. It’s so much fun. I’ll play more fighting games with an arcade stick but they’re pricey
Time to save up for a fight stick. They're pricey but worth it! :)
Ty for this with the new release of MVCFC. This was a top tier fighting game I never learned properly mainly cuz it was only in the arcades for a while. The only game close to these mechanics I learned was Tasanoko vs Capcom. Again ty sir
you're very welcome, thanks for watching!
Practice daily and you'll get used to it no time.
u crushed your 1k goal by the way, congrats! i'm all excited to play a game that i have had no interest in playing and got swept up in the hype

Never played these, but man the hype for the new release is really contagious hahahah, I'll be there day one, ready to get my ass kicked as a noob

You're welcome and thanks for the sub!!

I agree, great suggestion. I'll throw that on my list of video ideas, thanks!
Few parts were skip over actual inputs and just assume we can follow instantly.
What's up dude. Sorry if I'm going too fast to follow along. I tried to go slow, showed the onscreen inputs and explained everything as best as I could. But also, this is a guide not a tutorial.
@@FilthGnasty its chill, newer to game, starting to absorb it all at this point, just over whelming at first
can you do a video explaining how to use an arcade stick im from the generation who didnt go to the arcade

I can't get the wavedash or tk motion contantly anytips I keep getting lauch on wavedash
