Would also like to add one thing I forgot to mention in the video regarding the unfly state - if you have unfly and get hit with a move that causes sentinel to land on the floor on his back....so a hard or soft knockdown, he will lose unfly. This is another thing to keep in mind while playing as sentinel!

I know that there was mad ppl back in the day grinding this game like crazy and that the passion and competitive drive to be the best in it was serious so it led ppl to find all different types of in game discoveries and techniques, but the fact that some of this shit in this game was discovered and optimized like this is so crazy smh it’s amazing fr, also gcon thx for making this series bro I really wanna learn this game and it’s an extremely difficult game to get into but these videos your doing explaining stuff like this is definitely one of the best resources out there
practicing flight with IM but this will also help my doom, hard to tell if im doing the technique properly for fast fly but it does help to know how to see if my character has unfly by seeing if a button comes out when i go out of flight
you didnt mention this but, button cancel is another option, magnetro did a video on it i think you'd be able to explain it easier, its a really good way to do fly combos.. and is applicable to refly, thanks!
So, when I use the FK launcher and hold it down (neg edge) and hit LK xx flight by releasing the FK when I hit the LK, it will also put me into the fast flight mode. Do you know why it would do that? I'm guessing that the flight motion ALSO counts for the fast flight.
The programming for MvC2 is such a beautiful mess, something a lot of older fighting games have in common, but in many cases it's also what makes them truly great. All of the unintended mechanics and useful glitches that the community has discovered over the years and integrated into their gameplans have added an incredible amount of complexity, depth, interest and longevity to these games and they probably wouldn't have become so beloved and continually competitively played for literal decades without them.
If it helps, try to think of the stick as passing by neutral, rather than actually letting the stick go completely to neutral by itself. I know this tip helped me.

If you’re playing the collection you can set one of your buttons to literally just flight for sentinel(this transfers for any other flight character like dhalsim) I usually jus get rid of the one button super cause why do u need that. you won’t have to worry about the commands of flight just get the timing right
im kinda learning sentinel but i dong get the motion for fast fly ? do i let go the stick to be on neutral and then click the direction and lk ? or should i direct the stick to neutral and then the direction and lk ? I hope someone can answer me im a sentinel noob
@@obeyy0urmaster you can do it both ways...letting go to return to neutral and then pressing a direction is probably the easiest way. You can however do it the way you mentioned and pass through neutral on the stick and then getting to a direction, some flexibility is in there.

Had to re-learn how this works. I knew that normal jump cancels the unfly but forgot about it.
learned all of this back on the 360 release on pad but now im a stick player so i gotta relearn all of it 😂

In 1 hour practicing i´ve managed to do it 10 times but i think it´s sheer luck, i cant know the inputs using the xbox version
