I absolutely love watching Duc play. I admit I am biased as a Spiral player myself, but I just love that the character is still so good while hovering around outside the meta. The top 5 god tiers of MvC2 really all focus on being consistent and efficient. Any stray hit will lead into either an infinite, super loop, or DHC chain that deletes a character and starts incoming mix to do it again. Spiral is still up there with those top tiers while not really doing all of that mess, and instead just using oppressive zoning and pressure to slowly wear the other player down. MvC2 coming back has me so hype and I am so excited to knock the rust off and get back into it, despite running a team that requires more skill and execution than I ever had or will have.
Overall? Love this channel. Lots of VDO, one of my top 5 favorite Marvel players of all time, and, recently we have a GREAT "villain" for VDO to work on overcoming in Duc Do. However, VDO is obliged to fight the way he does because his team lacks projectiles. MSP does not. Make it into a firefight! You HAVE the tools to trade off at a distance, or at least interrupt Duc until you can get in close quarters with him. Use them!
I don't at all mean for this to sound insulting, but Duc really has crafted to perfection the absolute scrubbiest way to play the game. The Spiral-Sentinel lockdown is the most pure awe-inspiring cheese-tech ever conceived. It's crazy how scrubby it looks and how bs it feels to play against, but how it actually takes a ton of skill to pull off successfully.
