I'm looking at one now, wasn't sure because all I hear of the Nissan cvt. Should one be worried on these newer models?was looking for a corolla, but same price is about 2017-18. I liked the sentra so on a test drive. Good in snow?

This is not the base trim. The "S" trim is the base model. Which has steel wheel hub caps, single zone climate. This is the mid-level "SV" trim. "SR" is the top trim.

CVT is still weak. If you maintain cvt with every 25k miles or 30k kms rather than factory recommended protocol, then it should be okay. Still, CVT is very weak and plague with problems as today and not durable at all.

Nissan did a fantastic job with the styling, and it's a very nice car overall, but DON'T DO IT. The CVTs in these are still garbage. Owners are reporting premature CVT failure at low miles in the 2020+ models. Nissan just isn't learning for some reason. Hopefully, car shoppers are smarter.

I hear so much negative comments about the CVT . Back in 2012 I drove a rental Altima with a CVT. Not my first choice but the ride was very smooth . I floared it once and never again because I thought I would blow up the engine . Apparently the simulated shifts make the CVT more attractive. When it comes to reliability I don't know. Is it really that bad ? Hands off or hands on ?
