@@Goofybird-l2j I just rewatched that video, and I'm fairly certain that that design from the video the stardancer, and was created specifically for The Sojourn
Thirty second flight to transfer a flag officer, half a days work for the attaché lieutenants, and a two days of inspection for the enlisted work gangs
This is both awesome and comical. I get the feeling of SpaceBalls with the president walking to the command room which is literally one door away. Of course, space is complicated so there is a good reason to do it this way. But still a bit funny. Two massive ships more or less next to each other. A ship is dispatched from one vessel towards the other. They get as close to the flagship as possible while a fighter is near by to act as escort. This allows the shuttling vessel to limit the amount of time it is in 'open space' during the transfer. Then once close to the ship, they arrange them selves to dock inside the vessel.
outstanding attention to detail! the vapor exhaust from main drive cones sold me. no drive plumes near ships is important. excellent placement of reaction thrusters. provides proper moment arm for most efficient control. i often wonder at the utility of hangar bays. a tremendous usage of valuable interior hull volume when you have an airtight ship that could dock or be worked on with vac suits, mechs, drones. but im a pedant and my opinion is invalid. keep up the good work. my membership fees are going to good use.
It's a pretty shot. I'm also being a pendant, but I find myself wondering how much orbital mechanics would impact such maneuver. Maybe not notably at such close range, but if there's one thing I've learned from space RUclipsrs it is that the impact of thrust on a craft in orbit is often counterintuitive. Being able to rendevous with another spacecraft simply by thrusting towards like this might require some pretty careful setup in advance.
I love this Audio Drama and I cant wait for season 2 😁I am now hooked on this. Spoilers for a name down below (I love Vadik (I think thats how its spelt) him and everyone else is so cool but I really like him the most so far)
I know of a, all be it two years old, spacedock video where he says that he's got three seasons rougly layed out. I think that's all you can ask for until they actually get released
It's cool, but I think the ships were moving too fast. It throws off the scale of the scene. Also, from a procedural safety point of view, that shuttle started to turn way too soon. I don't think it'd even cleared the bay yet. Like I said, though it's cool.
Dont think i didnt notice your realistic fighter concept from spacedock escorting that shuttle.
The Stardancer predates that book.
I’m pretty sure the design in the book was based on the star dancer

And here we see footage captured from a Stardancer as Admiral Orrett transfers to his new flagship on a longboat.

Adorable skiff is adorable
Aww, it’s so adorable!
Very well done!
Also those turrets seem huge now that they're placed next to the shuttle.

Jesus christ that score is next level gorgeous
Very cool animation! I love these things as it shows the common, everyday tasks that ground the universe. Keep up the great work!
I love it. Nothing else to say
Just so fun to see these things in motion!
So many things to like about this series, and one of them is the attention to detail.
These shorts are why I bought the patreon
Cool!
Brilliant
What I wouldn't give to become a part of this world and explore its many mysteries.
You don’t want to be part of that world, there’s a massive food crisis and extreme poverty
@@Goofybird-l2j I mean, yeah. But... spaceships! I'd give up food for spaceships.
Giving me empire strikes back vibes in a good way
That's pretty good. :)

Will you be releasing the soundtrack?
Next book? What happens now? After the retreat & destruction of gate? Waiting for sequel.
