Feels like a bigger, less quality, more expensive Human Alliance figure. A shame, it's just too expensive for what it is.
Extremely overpriced. Hasbro has lost their minds charging 22+ for a remake o-ring.
I had a couple of the human alliances and they never had this kinds of issues. Gor the cost they should have had put more effort to make it more functional. Hasbro probably pulled their usual bs when the designers showed them the working prototype, and said "Great! Now cheap corner cut so we can sell it at the value of this version, but pay half the price to make the original engineering." American capitalism at work to max profit, and giving the custumers an inferior product than advertised. The fastfood burger picture treatment if you will.
Stalker looks like he’s sleepy!😂
this series is just breaking my heart. perfect joe vehicles and they transform? it's the obvious crossover that should have already happen, but they're crap.
and you don't say the punctuation. it's awe striker, just like megatron becomes a hiss tank, but it's officially written h.i.s.s. tank.
Both of the GI Joe Transformers are reminding me of KOs. Just get the figure from a vehicle to a robot with no care or concern for how the two integrate, leaving bot modes hollow, messy, or both.
... Remember Alternators Grimlock?
The definition of "plastic waste"
This coming from Hasbro, who make packaging that you can steal from no problem
Stay classy Hasbro, but up your game once we're out of recession
The buggy mode is way more detailed than the actual gi.joe toys. Best kept in this mode for the modern joe figures.
I like this concept, but it needed more time in the oven.
3:09 K.I.T.T; Michael, where's my steering wheel?
I'll be honest, the design started to intrigue me, especially since the vehicle mode reminded me of RC from toy story, but that transformation immediately killed any interest I might have had, holy Toledo
I cancelled my transformersXgi joe figures after seeing megatron. Seeing this review has confirmed I made the right choice in not getting into this line.
Maybe you can catch them on massive clearance down the road. That is where they are heading.
The only reason I would get this is to paint him into beachcomber
But Beachcomber's a pacifist?
@@takanuinuva just eat the gun?
@@pinkubusXtreme *yeet*
Agreed. Both figures in this line heavily dissapoint up to the point where I am not even going to buy them hoping for a silver lining.
The OG Stalker did not have bicep swivel
i can see alternators fan laughing
That Stalker figure is exactly like the original, except possibly plastic quality. That's how the original O-Rings were.
Not exactly the same. Hasbro made their own changes to the o-ring "remakes" for whatever reason. The peg holes on the back are different sizes.
it feels like a lame version of the old live-action movies Human Alliance toys that some of those things still holds up today despite their small size.
I got one as well, and have similar complaints. Although I do enjoy it for what it is and represents. I always wanted some Transformers that GI Joes could fit into and onto, so I had to get at least one of these. I'm glad I'm not the only one to have the issue with the chest coming apart when moving it around. It really needs to just snap in place. I don't have too much trouble getting it to stand, but yeah, it needs a stand of some sort to pull off any decent poses. With mine, every time I tried to pull the gun away from the hand or the back, the handle would stay stuck in. It comes apart from the gun way to easily. It would have also been nice if it came with at least one more gun for Bee to hold when the big gun is mounted on his shoulder for a Joe to use.
This was an Easy pass for me. My first nock against it was that it was Bumblebee and not Hound (yes i'm aware bumblebee is a more recognizable character and basically Hasbro's Transformer mascot at this point), second nock against it was the loss of hope i got for this figure after watching the Megatron crossover. I hope the Don't do an Optimus Prime and let this idea die, or pull there head's outta there asses and make a good figure.
I think this concept might be dead. Transformers fans (understandably) dislike it and from the GI Joe side it appears Hasbro only cares about classified. They have said absolutely nothing about more o-ring.
Supposedly the bots were designed by folks from the GI Joe, not the Transformers team, which explains why the bots are so bad but alt mode is decent. They made this an easy pass for me.
@@RarebitFiends I really wish people would stop spreading this "the joe team did it" lie/excuse. There is zero evidence to prove that anywhere. I have seen it repeated everywhere now with nothing to back it up.
@Craig Woodman There is evidence, though, just perhaps not as concrete as you would like it to be. The two Transformers themselves do not match current Hasbro Transformers team/TT engineering patterns or standards. As others have pointed out elsewhere, past Transformers collaborations between brands Hasbro has the license for are typically designed by those other teams (Star Wars collaborative for one example). Now you may be correct that Hasbro has bucked this historic trend, and you may be right that in the sea of figures the Transformers team has put out in the last 5 or so years they somehow dropped the ball the hardest on specifically these two bots when the rest of the recent collaborative figures have been of a MUCH higher engineering standard... but honestly I think it's you who are full of it and just ignoring all the evidence before you because there is not a press release with a specific designer's name attached (something common with all of the rest of the Transformers line... curious, no?). 🤷♂️
@@RarebitFiends Right so you have no proof and you are just making up excuses/ideas in your head. Let me know when an actual designer confirms it.
I miss that hammer
70 bucks for this guy 90 for the megs but yes definitely a miss but idk it's cool to have a transformer that can interact with figures of that size like gi joe or even the batman figures or whatever is that scale. But yeah if the bot mode was better I definitely would be happier
First, I enjoy your content. I have used your videos to figure out how to transform my figures. Hasbro’s instructions is hard on my old eyes!
I am curious as to why they went with Bumblebee and they didn’t use Beachcomber or even Sandstorm. This seems like a missed opportunity. How many Bumblebee figures do we need.
Would you say it's like one of those cheap "converting" toys you'd find at like the zoo or something?
Hasbro managed to do a horrible job with the only canonical crossover... no wonder people turn to 3rd parties.
I totally agree with you on this. I've got both versions of TFC Optimus Prime (Both the Camo one and the Nuclear Blast version, as well as the TFC Megatron Tank) And I love them both so much. Solid metal parts, plastic doesn't feel cheap, excellent pose potential. The Megatron one comes with a DBZ like Scouter and a microphone and headset-like thing as well as a full solid color face mask like some versions of the Cobra Commander. Sure they're both partsformers, but that's mostly for the armor, and at the size they come in, it's not likely something that might get misplaced.
Apparently the reason these figures are so subpar is because they were designed by the Joe team, not the TF team.
What I'm scared about this collaboration is the Megatron one, the plastic itself is just as comparable as that of a Chinese Toy
where would you even buy something like this? I have never heard of it before today and would not mind buying some of these for my collection.
I got this fig for $20 off which means I still overpaid but can stomach it for the sake of collecting. My biggest issues are that: A) In robot mode Bumblebee has trouble even standing, and B) Stalker is one of the least interesting Joes to include in this package. One thing you didn't showcase is mounting the cannon on Bumblebee's shoulder and having Stalker man it from the back 'Master Blaster' style. Or maybe that's for the best because unlike Megatron & Baroness the setup just doesn't fit properly, mostly because of where the cannon pivots.
$90 for that? Damn.
The worst part is that extreme overprice is basically becoming average Hasbro pricing.
Can you remove the head w/o breaking it?
02:58 A.E.W. Striker? Is that Tony Khan cosplaying as Stalker?
Ah yes wrestling fan i see
A novelty and not much more.
So this guy is only bumblebee because sales right? Like I feel like a character like, I don’t know, Hound? The one that turns into a jeep?
Maybe swindle I guess. Beachcomber would have been good
The HISS tank was garbage. I’m not surprised this is too.
1:11 Maybe it's not great because its so floppy
I just got into GI Joe this year.
I absolutely love Classified and am starting to pick up some of the Retro 3.75 inch figures.
I don't understand how Hasbro can fuck over TWO fanbases so badly with this and the Megatron.
The hollow bits are inexcusable for the price they're charging. You're telling me that the design team who created transforming marvels like ER Optimus Prime can't make a better figure than these two?
You're better off just getting an original AWE Striker and HISS Tank.
This shit is really making me start to dislike mainline transformers.
This should have been Hound 🤦♂️
Bumblebee looks like Speed Buggy with that goofy bumper and headlight combo
Would make more sense if they made him all green like that tfc optimus. The color clash is awful.
it has all of that mass, and doesnt even use it, this is worse that he megatron, and that thing is just plain garbage, it had potential, but it was thrown away in favour of focusing on the joe figures interactivity with it
Way I understand it, these were made by the team that handles G.I. Joe toys. So, a Transformer made by guys that don’t usually make Transformers ends up a mess…kinda like Titanium did.
Do you have a source for that? I keep hearing that rumor/excuse constantly but have never seen a source that says that. Also the deigns are not the worst problem. The price is.
@@craigwoodman4964 I do not, unfortunately. I know the Titanium line was handled by people from Galoob though, not like that helps here.
@@fracturedkoi1 I think the "gi joe team designed this" is probably people trying to excuse it being lackluster. When the line was first introduce it was brought out by a member of the transformer team during a GI joe event. Seems odd that if it was all joe they would even bother to have a TF team member involved in that way. I don't know though so that's why I always wanted a source for that information.
Great review! Horrible Stalker figure!
The front of the car reminds me of the RC car from Toy Story.
Did y'all really forget how shitty transformers in robot mode used to be?? That was your childhood imagination working, this is far superior. Idk if the cost is justified, but I don't buy toys anymore..
nice job about Transformers Collaborative: G.I. Joe Mash-Up, Bumblebee A.W.E. Striker & Lonzo “Stalker” Wilkinson
I'll probably go ahead and get this guy later, just to have a good guy to balance out my crossovers Megs that's shipping out in Jan. Although I wish they'd done the actual "G.I.JOE vs The Transformers" comic style, where Optimus was the one that turned into a H.I.S.S. Tank (albeit a red one). Even though making a bad guy turn into a bad guy vehicle makes sense, I still would've loved to have seen the Optimus one. Maybe they can have Optimus turn into a RHINO? That'd be an awesome Optimus.
This crossover seems content to have okayed the most lazy TF entries from Hasbro to date. What a waste
Very interesting figure.
I need to research this line. When I heard Transformers/G.I. Joe, I thought they were going to do the vehicles from the comics.
I know Bumblebee is the go-to character but couldn't they have done Hound? He's a military jeep, for crying out loud.
Wow, Megatron and Bumblebee GIJoe figures looked bad BEFORE I saw this video. It's a spindly and aesthetic mess.
I feel like this figure would have been more forgiving had it come out 5 years ago during the Prime Wars trilogy. But since it has come out during legacy where just about every figure since Siege now has ankle pivot, it doesn’t stick out too well from other lines. Though, if Hasbro ever gets to do a crossover with Disney/Pixar, I think this could make a decent retool into RC from Toy Story.
I'm generally the kind of guy who doesn't like blowing up old small modes, but, if they were going to make it this bad, they might as well have blown up the TR Beachcomber mold, upgraded the molding and joints, and called it a day.
should have been beachcomber, ah well.
I’d be better off taking a busted G.I. Joe car and a busted Bumblebee and Frankensteining them together!
Just noticed how thin looking his thighs and hips are compared to the chunky jeep parts in bot mode. Ive got Ectotron, Gigawatt, Maverick and Tyrannocon. Hope the next crossover figures are better designed than these G.I Joe sets.
wait how he get the toy?
Sunbow Collaboration
O Megatron dessa linha parece que saiu da linha Cyber Battalion.
Esse Bee é um pouco melhor que ele, mas nada mais do que isso: um pouco melhor que um Cyber Battalion
Anyone see bumblebee vehicle mode looks like speedy buggy
Who is this Stalker? Should've been Flint or Duke. I'd even pick Ship Wreck but the Transformers partner should've been Sea Spray... Also, why did they use Bunble Bee? Should have been Hound.
Stalker is one of the older, more veteran members of GI Joe.
I think they should have used Hound instead of Bumblebee
Am I the only one who sees RC from toy story?
Reminds me of Cybertron Defense Force Hotshot which I enjoy more than this
Yeah modern day gi Joe classified is much more advanced than that
Hound makes more sense. Screw Bee being more popular, this is an item for collectors, not yellow obsessed kids or their grandparents that buy them.
I have wanted this line forever but it’s disappointing. They definitely sacrificed robot mode for vehicle mode.
Pre-ordered this and Megatron, then saw the pics and canceled. Glad I did. This and Megatron just look clunky and cheap. I wouldn't even take them for 90% off.
I agree that this toy is a disappointment. It feels like Hasbro outsourced the design and execution of this Bumblebee figure to a team that does not normally work on the mainline Transformers toys. The execution and result are just AWEful.
What's you primevsprime and EmGo316 buying transformers kids toys every single time y'all see one it's like get a life
Why didn't they use beachcomber?
