if the manager of xyz company has set a 10% of good unit completed as normal spoilage rate and the prodaction report indicates that 100,000 unit are started (no bigining inventory )assuming 60,000 good unit completed and 25,000 unit in inding inventory the normal spoilage will be? if you have free time work these quiz

Total spoilage =(unit in beginning work in process inventory + unit started )-(goods unit completed + unit in ending inventory )
=(0+100,000)-(60,000+25,000)
=100,000-85,000
=15,000 unit
Since normal spoilage is 10% of goods unit completed 60,000 × 10%=6,000
Abnormal spoilage =total spoilage - normal spoilage
AS=15,000-6,000
AS=9,000
