Are those "Free Update" roads included into Base game Vanilla players? I am looking at possibly navigating fu ds into getting the DLC pack with all the previous DLCs, but I am curious is the update gives my base Vanilla game new roads. Thanks Biffa you are a Scholar and a Gentleman. Sip o' tea to ya!
This is exactly what i need to finish up my favorite city. Some resorts and some small walking only islands. I can see the perfecting ending in sight for my favorite city. I honestly wasnt sure this day would ever arrive.
I'm kind of ? Idk... Might have to destroy entire neighborhoods... Re-zone downtown! I'm overwhelmed! My education... Sucks... However! I'm not replacing those schools for these! However... 150% Wow... It's the student capacity... & cost! Wow! This new dlc... I wanna see these cities! :)
If i ever get Plazas & Promenades, i think i’ll build a pedestrian area where at the centre point, there will be a compact bus station as a hub for the buses (It would be in the downtown) and also some of those plazas would be nice. Maybe a few of those metro stations as well.
My favourite thing about this dlc is the bus only roads! Finally we can all make bus rapid transport! I have to say that c:s does lack with other roads, I play on console so some segregated bike lane roads would be nice. Do you know if you can connect a steam account with c:s on xbox?
@@Ascending11 yes but i dont hink you can get modded roads on there. I tried making a account and all there was waa some buildings, nothing game-changing and totally useless
Yes, the bus roads are nice. And also the roads with added bus lanes. AFAIK they are completely missing in Vanilla and I only had some modded roads, that came with their own disadvantages (like only left turns or straight on from the car lane... it's nice when you realise that after a few HOURS of gameplay and wonder why your traffic has become so bad, lol)
I was only looking at the DLC in Steam about 5 hours ago and wondering when it was doing to drop. Been waiting for the DLC before starting a new city and now here we go! Will happily be purchasing via Humble Bundle as you're the one that inspired me to get back into the game after 6 months away.
This is definitely the best DLC so far, they really did a amazing work with this one, everything feels nice, new and interesting, a real game changer, this just gets me hyped to see what's going to be the next expansions
@@jigglepin_gaming3860 I also really want it, but the more I think about it, I feel like cities skylines deserves better before a sequel that's going to take a long time to introduce it all, my suggestion is that the Devs should think about a final huge update, the purpose is to polish the game, they should tackle all the issues the game has, and fix it, replacement of old and cartoonish looking buildings, add more public services buildings, rework the way the harbor freight and cargo transport looks like in game, I think it need a serious rework, it's been years and the ports deserves some love, also there should be a addition of new type of sea-to-land walls, fortifications used in ports, or anything land to sea, like barriers, walls, so far they added piers but only for parks, I think since it started, they should have give the players the tools to be able to build these fortifications, the way those ports harbors sit there, it's so weird, and I think it deserves a couple of variations, it's been a long time and I feel sad for them to not care about that in the industry DLC or Piers pack, ofc there's a lot more to say, but it's too much, and in these last years all I wanted is paradox to understand what people want, look at the others city builders games that made some features that CS didn't have, and note everything, or otherwise it will be another Cites Skylines with the same issues but with new modern stuff, they can't continue to use the same stuff they did, should focus on realism, modern stuff, mid age, and somehow pull off what Transport Fever 2 did, you can pick a time where there's few technology, and see your city developing through the time, I think this mode should be a thing on the next city builder they do, and give all the realism it deserves, like TF2 did, but lacked the realism of a full scale city and industries, the only problem from this game, city works smaller, so the game will focus on transport, it's fine, even myself wants them to make transport fever 3 more like a city builder with their transport features, that could make the best city builder
What I would like to see in Cities is the ability to reserve and upgrade service buildings. As an example. I want to build a clinic in my city because it's new. But I want to make sure I have enough space in the future to be able to upgrade to a hospital should the time come. When you place a clinic, there should be an optional outline of where the hospital version of that would be so you can see. Just like leveling up your houses, you should be able to level up your city services. Clinic to hospital, small fires station to larger fire station, right in place with land ready to go. I should have the option to be able to turn off "extended zoning for future expansion" if I don't think I'll ever need it. If I ever do need it, I can do what we do now. Another example of this is what they have going on with the small pedestrian service station you showed in this video. If you look at it and the large one too, they are very similar with the larger one just having extra sq footage to the left of the current building. I would like the option to have an area next to the smaller one be marked as non zoneable so that I can expand in place and later just click on the asset and click the "upgrade" button and it will upgrade to the large pedestrian one. If I want to change it out all together I can do that manually. It's a nuance I know. But when planning a city many real cities own a ton of land and then build into it. We have this already with airports in CS. You can outline an airport and upgrade along the way. Want to see this with city services too.
An interesting idea but I'd say that with airports it makes sense since airports irl would likely have a large surrounding area that can't be zoned for other things. Hospitals however would be subject to the standard build a new facility and demolish the old one way of life irl. Basically what I'm saying is that I'd be totally down for modular services but it's really not a big deal to me.
@@Romess1 I am thinking more of "spacing" in general. I guess an option would be for me to just not zone near a service building. Giving it the same affect as I'm looking for.
Would've been great if they included pedestrian-only dirt roads as well so we can make some small rural towns, villages or 3rd world sort of areas where there are basically no cars at all. I was also hoping for some new cafes and restaurants that would have outdoor dining and seating areas that extend into the street. Places like Spain and France have loads of areas like this where streets are full of people sitting around drinking coffee or whatever
I don't normally comment 3 times on a video. But I literally just thought of something. If you live in Michigan, USA. Then you have most likely heard of a "Michigan left". It's a unique road interchange that only exists in the state of Michigan. What would be cool, is if they added in Michigan left roads, or someone made a Michigan road pack. Detroit is prominently where you'll find them, but they're in other cities as well. They're just really cool looking and I think would be great for anyone doing a Detroit inspired city
It would have been nice if you had covered how the Seaside Resort buildings are built. (are they placed as Unique buildings, as parks or as something else?) But other than that it was a great cover of the new buildings and roads. Thanks for the quick update!
The Seaside Resorts CCP reminds me SO MUCH of the beaches where I grew up. Looking forward to adding these packs to my game, and as per usual - wonderful video!
Honestly same. It’s nice. I almost want to make a low density city based on those tiny coastal towns now. Fishing, parks, mostly walkable, etc. Suppose it’s time to dump another ungodly amount of hours in 💀
Hey: I'm super excited for this DLC! As a console player this is just a massive upgrade to the base game! Finally we can make cities more pedestrian friendly and make traffic restrictions. I'll definitely be buying it for Xbox today :) Furthermore, I'd like to mention that I noticed that the free update to the base game added multiple new roads. I was so pleased about it. However I noticed some bugs. At a 3 lane one way road a traffic light is always placed showing in the wrong direction. Secondly, traffic lights don't appear at all on one side of the intersection. This has to be fixed
This is awesome! Having had played a lot with modded zonable pedestrian streets, this looks like a world of difference. Making a pedestrian only zone, only for tourists to drive around in circles at 10 kph looking for a non-existent parking spot.... this is a welcome change.
This is the DLC i was begging for! Definitely buying as soon as i get off from work! Also i love your cities skylines videos they helped me soooo much! ❤
Thank you for showing off the new maps! That's super helpful for me and I'm sure many others who'd otherwise have to spend ages loading in and out of each one to decide which one to use 😂
The fact that there are pedestrian streets with bus lanes, pedestrian streets with bus lanes and trolleybus wires, and pedestrian streets with tram tracks (which buses can also use) means that you can have Transit Malls in Cities: Skylines if you have the Plazas & Promenades DLC.
with the new buildings you can totally make a 1960s florida style area around a space port. those look soo much like everything you see when you think of apollo and gemini styles in the late 60s....
So I love this and the new content - the pedestrian street and areas are awesome. That said I don't really like the design of the buildings - the art design I mean, with the colorful squares and patterns. Its too colorful to me. That said 'Wall to Wall' is awesome for urban areas so there is going to be lots of potential for things.
Agreed. The design is too colorful. It won’t fit in many cities. Wish they had created more variety to fit a wider audience. However, i’m sure there will be tons of asset creators out there who will start releasing various kinds of designs. So basically by buying the DLC, we are mainly buying the “engine”, and then we wait to see what the workshop can offer ;-)
@@ffzein The devs thinks it's only hipsters who use pedestrian streets apparently; which is weird since they're Finnish and there are huge pedestrian streets all over Scandinavia that's surrounded by 19th century architecture.
This DLC is so damn good. Pairs perfectly with the Park Life DLC. I think I’ll be making an island that is pedestrian only with an amusement park on it
8:39 this is what i have wanted in quite a few of my cities for soo long though i hope someone makes a somewhat smaller building option like the stairwell down one.
Biffa thank you ever so much sharing this with us. Also, I eagerly wait for you to put them into action in your cities since what you do will look absolutely amazing. 😃😃😎😎
ah yes, these are perfect for a certain build I have in mind. In the prototype I use to create these smaller bus stations manually, using 1U roads and traffic manager, but these will do just fine. The ped rads are also a plus cause I can finally drop network extensions 2
I turned on the PS4 last night and was happy to see some new roads. Can't wait for some new options like the 'move it mod' to be made available, that really would help.
When there is a wall2wall option… can we have a „far spaced“ option so the buildings are ar least 500m spaced away like they do in the silly colonies? I prefer with huge amount of unused parking lots and stroads…
Really looking forward to seeing what you do with this new content! Also wondering how things will look in contrast to the older dlc, like the night life and green cities stuff...
This will probably be my favorite DLC. Cars are terrible. These bus only lanes make a pedestrian and public transportation only city challenge possible.
I was wondering if some of the DLC for this game would ever go on sale since I've never seen it on sale in the past but then I saw this DLC came out and checked Steam to see that the 3 expansion bundle was on sale.
I wonder if it will be genuinely feasible to build an entirely pedestrian city with these -- or nearly so, since you need that highway connection to get a city started.
Showing off the wall to wall buildings but putting huge spaces in between them all is an interesting choice 😅 lol I'd have liked to see them all up against each other, but I'm sure we'll see that in Blightea and Mississipitea soon 😁
The buildings have a 70s style look, I am not sure how I like it ;) But all in all an impressive amount of content, I didn't expect such a big DLC for this game anymore tbh.
Love this DLC and the CCPs. The vanilla game now is just ok with all the contents. The only thing that would make this game perfect now, would be the integration of useful mods like TM, Move It, and some other stuff that allow you to detail spaces and shapes more precisely (well actually even some new roads would be welcomed). Beside that, very happy, a relief for those stucked for hours in the Workshop finding for nice assets. :D
I have to say... as much as we're all dying for a CS2, I think we can all agree that CO are doing a great job at giving us substantial content to keep us going without it feeling cash grabby. And this is why CO are a respected developer. Good to see them listening to the community and giving the people what they want. Will defo be getting this DLC very soon!
Plus they fully support the modding community as well. Go onto there isntagram is all assets from the steam workshop it’s awesome! Kinda sad fhat console players dont get the luxury we have (devloped by a different studio)
Ooh I love the new roads, granted, many of them have been available in mods but for our console cousins or vanilla veterans, its no doubt a welcome addition, and I'm always down for slimming my mod list hehe
Anybody know what game provider did Biffa get his version of City Skylines from? I want to get the mods but on PC Xbox live I don't really see any for other than building styles. is it a steam version?
The only thing I really like are all the new roads, so it looks like I'm good with the free stuff. :) Not too fond of the new pedestrian district buildings, I feel like they're too square.
i like the perpendicular metro stations. and it will also save the unsightly sight of people pouring over ground from one metro station just to go into another metro station, choking the zebra crossing.
Yesterday I received a notification from the post on the Paradox forum site that a bug with traffic lights not appearing on some intersections between large roads that are spaced less than 9 zoning tiles apart and small roads less than 12 zoning tiles apart. The new one way roads also have their traffic lights and speed limit/stop signs reversed. Colossal order is investigating this issue and will release a hot fix as soon as possible.
I would love to see you do another car-free city or large district in one of your existing cities. I think these new DLCs make it more plausible, especially when not also experimenting with a single-road city. Perhaps back access roads that are sunken below crosswalks and things for access to the vehicles needed to stock and service commercial buildings would make the game operate more smoothly than having vehicles and pedestrians crossing paths and making a backup. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with these new content packs. (ETA: I just saw the policy for Deliver Everything. That would certainly help the game run, since manually changing the spawning points could be cumbersome. The delivery roads would make for a more realistic city-planning experience, though. Depends on how one wants to play the game for that particular city/district what one chooses. 🙂) Which this new focus on pedestrians, is there any word on mixed-zone areas, blending office and small commercial shops and things with residential living? You had that great work-around with the modular buildings, but I wondered it anything had changed with the game’s zoning options.
This DLC comes at the right time as cities around the world set up pedestrian areas like in Milano, Strasbourg, Berlin, Brugge or Mannheim. This is a-flipping-mazing!
Hey Biffa, it might have been nice to present what mods would have difficulties once the DLC installed. Using the Mississippitea Mods (American build) as I was, had a lot of dead/broken mods appear upon startup after install. Just going over any you discovered at the end of these presentations is helpful. Appreciate your work!
Very cool!! Love the 19th century houses etc. Those are going to be my favorite I think. I had purchased before I watched much and didn't realize about your keys. Sorry about that! I'll be more aware next go around 🙃
i have a really good computer that usually can load the game within 10-20 seconds. and even mine won't load and freezes at the end of loading. even when i try to create a new game.
I've never played this game, but I need it. I played Sim City on my Nintendo DS about 15 years ago. Haven't touched one since, but after playing a couple mobile versions recently, it's an itch I need to scratch. This game looks amazing!
I was hoping they added new challenges like the "Fix the Traffic" Scenario. Seems like they forgot that a long time ago. Besides that, can't wait to try out the new roads. We could probably fix traffic vanilla style now!
I love that they've not only added food truck pods, but even food truck props. And the compact bus station! Holy crap, the original one is absurd overkill for most cities. Sugar ban!? Why not just outlaw happiness?
Clarification: the truck capacity of service points is the number of trucks they can RECEIVE. Once full, industries and garbage service cannot send trucks to them. High-capacity hospital is almost like Medical Center, minus the city-wide health boost. The layout of the two new metro stations next to each other is very convenient: 3 parallel lines perpendicular to one line. Pedestrian Street Plaza Hall has a built-in large pedestrian street in it. Kind of like Monorail Station with road has built-in 4-lane road.
I just got the new DLC and went to load a saved game I've recently been playing. The game gets stuck on the loading screen and doesn't go past it. I've gone through my mods folder, nothing has changed. Anyone having the same issue?
It's about damn time. Finally your able to create nice walkable spaces. I always wanted to be able to build shopping streets. Basically every European city has one.
Thanks Biffa, appreciate your review before I buy. Yes my tag is also Biffa but this was before I knew you existed so... ya know... hopefully it's not copyrighted ;-)
I think this will be the last cities skylines DLC. They now basically added a lot of things which people were asking for for ages (such as one way metro tracks)
in addition to plazas on ps4, people don't walk on pedestrian roads (although I put all the tedious services) there was such a problem, do you know how to solve it?

ah yes, these are perfect for a certain build I have in mind.
In the prototype I use to create these smaller bus stations manually, using 1U roads and traffic manager, but these will do just fine. The ped rads are also a plus cause I can finally drop network extensions 2
Thank you Biffa - always much appreciated to see all the new options.
Fantastic release overview! I'm really excited to see you work some of that Biffa magic with these new assets.
THE FREE UPDATE BRO ITS SO COOL NO MODS NEEDED FOR THESE ROADS.
And cape apple looks like new York
big W for paradox. this is an update we wanted for a very long time now.
I turned on the PS4 last night and was happy to see some new roads.
Can't wait for some new options like the 'move it mod' to be made available, that really would help.
Its never happening
No one does it any better than Biffa...💯
When there is a wall2wall option… can we have a „far spaced“ option so the buildings are ar least 500m spaced away like they do in the silly colonies? I prefer with huge amount of unused parking lots and stroads…
Noice, those new roads would save me some custom assets from the workshop. Time to sort things out then 😂😂
Thanks!
Really looking forward to seeing what you do with this new content! Also wondering how things will look in contrast to the older dlc, like the night life and green cities stuff...
As I clicked this I wondered how the merch plug would be worked in. Kudos sir
Very nice! Really love those cobblestone roads. Can't wait to see you implement those in any of your builds Biffa 👍
Showing off the wall to wall buildings but putting huge spaces in between them all is an interesting choice 😅 lol I'd have liked to see them all up against each other, but I'm sure we'll see that in Blightea and Mississipitea soon 😁
More videos coming with the P&P udpate so don't worry ;-)
Ha ha ha, I was thinking the same thing 🤣
Awesome overview Biffa! Can't wait to see what you do with all the new content!!
Finally! I’ve waited for pedestrian areas and roads!
Nice well put together video Biffa! Can't wait to dive into these myself!
The buildings have a 70s style look, I am not sure how I like it ;) But all in all an impressive amount of content, I didn't expect such a big DLC for this game anymore tbh.
A lot of these high capacity buildings remind me of modern buildings built in former Soviet block countries after the fall of the Soviet union.
With so many different ways to build a plaza, it is too much to wrap my head around. I feel like a kid in a candy store.
Ooh I love the new roads, granted, many of them have been available in mods but for our console cousins or vanilla veterans, its no doubt a welcome addition, and I'm always down for slimming my mod list hehe
Hey biffa,
How long do you think the USA playthrough will be down while the mod authors update? I'm getting a bunch of errors since the update.
Most main mods are updated already 👍
Anybody know what game provider did Biffa get his version of City Skylines from? I want to get the mods but on PC Xbox live I don't really see any for other than building styles. is it a steam version?
The only thing I really like are all the new roads, so it looks like I'm good with the free stuff. :)
Not too fond of the new pedestrian district buildings, I feel like they're too square.
i like the perpendicular metro stations. and it will also save the unsightly sight of people pouring over ground from one metro station just to go into another metro station, choking the zebra crossing.
This is going to be awesome in your Medieval city in your UK build
Excellent video as usual, Biffa, and I bought P&P on the back of it.... have a "slight little kickback" ;)
👍😁
This is torture, I'm at work watching what has to be one of the biggest C:S DLCs and its still the morning. 5pm cant come soon enough
Where I live the DLC released exactly at 5 pm
Yesterday I received a notification from the post on the Paradox forum site that a bug with traffic lights not appearing on some intersections between large roads that are spaced less than 9 zoning tiles apart and small roads less than 12 zoning tiles apart. The new one way roads also have their traffic lights and speed limit/stop signs reversed. Colossal order is investigating this issue and will release a hot fix as soon as possible.
Thank you for your time and insight in making this video! It's extremely helpful.
Which this new focus on pedestrians, is there any word on mixed-zone areas, blending office and small commercial shops and things with residential living? You had that great work-around with the modular buildings, but I wondered it anything had changed with the game’s zoning options.
I hope the city skylines have a season 3 pass for the console so i can save money and buy all the dlc that in miss.
Everything broke and the moders have uploaded fixes to almost everything now 👍
Very cool!! Love the 19th century houses etc. Those are going to be my favorite I think. I had purchased before I watched much and didn't realize about your keys. Sorry about that! I'll be more aware next go around 🙃
No worries, just enjoy the game 👍😁
I'm literally going omg omg while watching. Thanks bro!
Thanks for the preview! So helpful.
What mod makes your asset menus look like that, instead of having to forever scroll sideways?
This looks great
Gonna have so mutch fun with this ^^
Dlc looks good ! Very nice guide Biffa! Defo buying it and will play!
They combined the most and least American building style in one pack. Well played, well played
Hope the update doesn't break your cities! I can't even load the game until mods get updated because my computer is slow and the game freezes up lol
i have a really good computer that usually can load the game within 10-20 seconds. and even mine won't load and freezes at the end of loading. even when i try to create a new game.
I've never played this game, but I need it. I played Sim City on my Nintendo DS about 15 years ago. Haven't touched one since, but after playing a couple mobile versions recently, it's an itch I need to scratch. This game looks amazing!
Oh man you are in for the ride of your life! Enjoy :-)
I may have to jump back onto my Xbox to play this update. Some awesome looking stuff.
The one thing this is missing is a bus station that is like a train/metro station, you could do some really cool busway routes.
Can't wait to tweak all those hotels to work with the tourist zoning through Rico :D
I was hoping they added new challenges like the "Fix the Traffic" Scenario. Seems like they forgot that a long time ago. Besides that, can't wait to try out the new roads. We could probably fix traffic vanilla style now!
Nice work Mr Biffmeister!
All of this new content looks amazing!
Thanks Bifa, great rundown!
It's here!
I was just watching your Green Cities build!
You're welcome :-)
these new roads look amazing
Love them! :-)
How about tackling the scenario where you have to build parks and grow the city? With the new content?
It's about damn time. Finally your able to create nice walkable spaces. I always wanted to be able to build shopping streets. Basically every European city has one.
Thanks Biffa, appreciate your review before I buy. Yes my tag is also Biffa but this was before I knew you existed so... ya know... hopefully it's not copyrighted ;-)
👍
I think this will be the last cities skylines DLC. They now basically added a lot of things which people were asking for for ages (such as one way metro tracks)
Got it already and jumped to this video , have to admit its nice video !!
👍
in addition to plazas on ps4, people don't walk on pedestrian roads (although I put all the tedious services) there was such a problem, do you know how to solve it?
