    I’ve been off line for a couple of weeks. How wonderful to sign on and find your latest video! As always, beautiful images. I was really intrigued by your hand-held multi-shot effort. It turned out beautifully! I’ve been experimenting with some panos (new technique to me!) and having fun with it. Seeing how you worked that complex of an image was really intriguing. Something more for me to play with! Thank you, as always, for your work.

      Thanks James! You should give the hand-held multiple image pano a try. I did another, even larger, one on this trip but didn't share it in the video. It was 20+ images stitched together and the final file was huge!

    I was there last Monday morning. A grey, overcast day - absolutely perfect conditions for shooting in that environment and we had the place to ourselves. Got lots of bluebell shots too, shooting down low with the bluebells as foreground interest and the bridge in the background.
    Love the shot at 13:00 and I wish I had taken it.
    Also, you can take the track down the right hand side of the burn, where there is a tall waterfall - maybe 20m or so - but I've not been able to get a composition. The track continues down to the road, turning left to return to the car park.

    • @JohnMcKennaPhotography

      Thanks Dougie! I didn't follow any of the other tracks and had no idea there was another waterfall. I've got an excuse to go back now!

    I am so glad to have seen this video! It was to be the highlight of my trip to scotland in January before the clutch went on my camper and put paid to the whole holiday trip. I havent seen any other videos of the location, so I have really enjoyed your exploration of the site. 😍 When I do eventually get there, I think I will still love it! Love your pics, and to be fair, I think most of this location are bound to be fairly similar given the fact you've really only got the front angles to play with.

    Some lovely shots, John, quite a few U tubers have been here recently and you managed to get some different shots, I would imagine it would be amazing after heavy Rain, with that Waterfall behind the bridge. I have been out looking for Bluebells myself recently and finding some of my usual suspect areas have been poor this year.

      Thanks Douglas! Yeh, I tried Kinclaven Bluebell wood near Perth a few days before shooting this video and there were none out. Apparently they're about 2 - 3 weeks late this year. Returned to Kinclaven a week or so later and sure enough the flowers were out

      @@JohnMcKennaPhotography Hi John, Yes it's bizarre this year, it should be the opposite after the milder Winter, I am just literally back from Culzean country park
      and its is teeming with Bluebells, the best I have seen, last week I was down to get the Bluebells at Aldouran Woods near Leswalt next to Stranraer and their were none, teeming with Wild Garlic but no Bluebells. Very Strange, love your handheld Panoramas they worked really well.

      @JohnMcKennaPhotography  6 месяцев назад

      I was only at the bridge for an hour or so. I had planned to go on to Glencoe afterwards but in the end I left that for another day. I'm intrigued now about what crop I missed!

    • @iainmc9859
      @iainmc9859 6 месяцев назад

      @@JohnMcKennaPhotography Take 19:23 as base image. Crop just left of prominent pale tree on left. This cuts out some sky but includes bluebells, also includes a reflective mid-green mass on left and right of shot. Crop at absolute bottom of the triangular downward pointing rock midstream, which removes distracting light rocks at the bottom right. Probably something like a 9X7 crop.
      I'd also be tempted to have a crack at a b&w version because the bridge is so graphic. Looking at it from another angle, which might be appropriate, I'd consider a soft focus fairy tale book illustration type edit in the style of Arthur Rackham ... the options are of course unlimited.

      @@iainmc9859 sounds good! I have some spare time tomorrow - I'll give that a try. I did some black & white edits of a few of the images but decided in the end to go with the colour ones because of the bluebells / moss colour contrasts. I did actually try a fantasy / soft focus style with one of the images (not included in the video but I'll maybe pop it in this months newsletter as "bonus" content!)
