It's a dream how the soldiers are celebrated in the States and how close you bring the military to the civilians and how they are celebrated. Here in Germany you go out on the street in your uniform and are looked at stupidly. Every soldier who is proud of his country and his uniform should get the respect and recognition he deserves.
When I was an American serviceman stationed in Frankfurt, I could go off base without my uniform and people looked at me “stupidly”. So don’t think you are alone with the dirty looks in Germany.
@@chrisberrymanalo Of course.... but also just because you run in with 100,000 men, we proceed strategically for that. it's not for nothing that we have the GSG9 or the combat swimmers, the mine divers and the MSK....we don't need 1000 men to take one out ;-)

Jumping onto a football field is the easy part. As a skydiver, to acquire an upgrade to your skydiving license one has to demonstrate that they can land within 10 feet of a target and the seals are extremely experienced at doing this. The series issue jumping into a stadium is the air currents as they pass over the edge of stadium as the wind will roll and and will greatly impact the landing characteristics of the parachute.
Screw the landing, the audience needs to see these marvelous Frog Jumpers hopping out of that aircraft like they are stepping off a sidewalk curb. The only thing more epic would be to have a flock of American Eagles perch on their shoulders when they touchdown. Amazing.
Great to see the RAF Lakenheath Eagles there ! Even as a Brit, this sheer patriotism and respect for your military makes the hairs stand up on my arms. 👏👏🇺🇸🇺🇸🤙🤙
Not military myself, but your feelings are appreciated here, Barry. We do indeed regard our soldiers very highly here. And even though our country came into being by disassociating ourselves from England, many of us here still consider the English as very close brothers.

are military aircraft loaded and armed with weaponry/ammunition during flyovers like this? y'know, just in case? just asking cuz i played Ace Combat 5 as a kid and enemies sought to attack during such an event
Why does the US military spend so much time and effort showing off at football games? Because, of course, it's a recruiting effort. A bunch of Dads (often a few beers into their afternoon) start telling their kids all the cool things they did back when they were in uniform. Impressionable kids decide that they'd like to do cool stuff like jumping out of planes (and be cheered while doing it, no less!) and they sign-up once they're old enough. (Wasn't there a bruhaha a few years back when taxpayers learned that the NFL was actually charging the military to do stunts like this? So much for the NFL and patriotism!) Anyway, maybe every NFL extravaganza with flyovers and skydivers should end with a thousand Purple Heart survivors brought onto the field. There's a cost for our militarism, and we cannot forget that cost.
You have to remember they do this day in and day out, yes, it's a skill but there's lots of Skydivers who could ease do this not to take anything away from all their hard work or training, but getting on one of the teams and performing jumps like this is work Nave, Army or Airforce. Dam they look good From an airborne vet and skydiver
According to the U.S. Flag Code, the American flag should never touch the ground or anything else below it. This federal law states: “The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.” Why doesn't the U.S. Flag Code allow the American flag to touch the ground?

I've taken off in the C-130 many times, but never got to land in one. They made me exit a little early. I hope the landings are smooth!
