ALPHA GAMER Jason dies in Arkham Asylum. You can find his wheelchair laying on the floor and Ra’s Al Ghul’s body which disappears later in the game, meaning Ra’s probably took Jason’s body to heal him. Also in the comic he escapes from Arkham Asylum(but it isnt canon)

Playing A Matter of Family was heartbreaking given what happens to Barbara. Barbara was so damn good as Batgirl and the DLC really gets across how much she loved being Batgirl.
The story behind the lunapark what gets to me the secret story behind it shows how much of a monster joker is pluse before the final mission hostage cops suggest putting him down instead of capturing him
Honestly when you think about it, she learned how to do fear take downs before Batman did and she can hack into more things. I just wish she had more unique gadgets like Robin with those snap flashes or his bullet shield.
Still bummed that this DLC didn't have Barb working with Jason when he was Robin.

For those who don't know Barbara Gordon (Daughter of Jim Gordon) is an admirer of Batman. Eventually being trained by him and fights along side him as batgirl. But in the Killing Joke storyline, Barbara is shot in the back by the Joker. Leaving her paralysed from the waist down. Therefore, this DLC takes place before the events of Asylum, but after the events of Origins.
So between the third game and the first. Got it.

This DLC made me feel like I was watching an episode from the 1990's TV Show, with all the characters, original situations, the overall mood (mature but still fun with all the traps, stupid thugs and all that) etc.
I know! I watched a few secs here and there, not gonna watch it because I haven't even bought the game yet! Batgirl DLC looks awesome.

Is it me but when you reach at the tunnels to find Gordon and you have to use those ramps to go one side to the other but meanwhile i just look at how clean the water is in the tunnel system/modified sewer system.
Graphics can only improve so much. Right now it's all about indie games because Triple A ones are made by studios who don't even care

im playing this game first time now, and omg i just believe how detailed and graphically advanced game was for its year, superior even to many today games, reflections, fog, lightning are next level, i even check if this game had ray tracing cause it felt like it has some kind of version of it defaulted

Seems like Batgirl's fighting style uses her legs more-so than her arms. I suppose that's fitting. Her career as Batgirl ended not just because she was paralyzed, but because her whole fighting style revolved around using her lower body as her primary offense.

A Matter of Family is what I wished the main story had ALOT more of; fun locales with its own hidden backstory ala the Asylum, unique characters and predator tools, more team-up combat, silly collectibles, capped off with an actually fun boss fight that was better than anything we go in the main game.
Not to mention that it's the only time in the entire series where we actually got a solid Joker boss battle.
The teeth appear in asylum and city, and balloons appear in city, collectibles weren't that creative.

man even though i absolutely love this game, its full of missed opportunites. Instead of Tim they should have incorporated Jason to show the dynamic he had with Barbara before he was taken. it would have shown why he cared so much about her and made sure she didnt get hurt in the audio logs

Gordon doesn't want to know. He understands that the more people know their secrets, the less secure they all are. He told Batman to his face that if he wanted to know he'd actually investigate Batman. He actively ignores them.

Have you noticed that Harley matured a bit more? In this DLC( the past) she laughs A LOT. Now she just laughs....sometimes.
+Sean Clark Paul Dini never intended her to be Joker's successor, he only ever envisioned her as his henchwoman. Hence her fate in the DCAU. Dini didn't write any part of the Arkham games' story after the main game of City. He probably would have treated her a lot differently had he wrote Knight.

this dlc was great. Barbara's moves are so cool and fluid. At least in the challenge maps. I felt a bit more lag in the dlc personally. Her ground pounce is so quick. Makes me wish there was a full game with Barbara and Tim

Just came here after seeing Batgirl's trailer for Gotham Knights. This Batgirl looks so much more like Batgirl in design, style and combat then the new iteration. Even the voicework. These Arkham games truly do hold up after all of this time.

Guys, don't listen to George and Javier Lopez. They have the Arkham storyline all wrong. Jason "died" way before this story pack and was replaced by Tim Drake due to Batman thinking that Jason Todd was killed by the Joker.
Tim Drake was Robin here and it's obvious, considering that Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) calls him "Tim" as in Tim Drake. Hell, the first line Barbara aka Batgirl says in this story pack is "Tim, where are you?".
Dick Grayson was already rocking his Nightwing persona in Bludhaven so he wouldn't be helping Barbara here much less in a Robin costume.

Also, "A Matter of Family" takes place BEFORE The Killing Joke, BEFORE the events of Arkham Asylum when Barbara was still rolling as Batgirl. She became Oracle after The Killing Joke because she was shot by the Joker and paralyzed from the waist down.

There's plenty of secrets and collectibles to keep you busy after completing its story, I got all of them a minute ago!
Here's how it SHOULD have ended: once Gordon puts the APB out on Joker, Batman cuts in on the radio and says, "it's okay, Jim. I got him."
Struggling to breath through Batman's tight grip, Joker croaks out a, "can't you take a joke, Bats?"
Batman retorts, "here's the punchline," and punches Joker out. Gordon chuckles at the prospect that Batman has FINALLY told a joke in all the years he's known him.

That Batgirl and Robin vs Joker and Harley Quinn boss fight is freaking awesome. One of the best in the series in my opinion. Now if we can have Batman and one of the other batfamily members vs Joker and Harley, that would have made my day.

The DLC just started and already it's a dual play fight. A promising start.
This now makes me want upcoming challenge maps to be dual play with every playable character. Imagine the dual takedown possibilities with combinations like Catwoman & Batgirl or Red Hood & Azrael.
EVERYONE HEED THESE DUDES WORDS, SPRED THEM TO THE FAR CORNERS OF THE INTERNET!!!! Or wherever it'll get rocksteady attention.
ilikethecokev2 I was about to say there is no way Rocksteady animated all those combinations but it might be possible, Azrael is the same as batman, so he's compatible with Robin, Night Wing, and Catwoman, and Batman's dual team move is just punching and kicking so that can be reused if any character needs it.

Laro Joker mentions that he didn’t even know he shot Batgirl when he shot Barbara, he thought he was just hurting the GCPD commissioner’s daughter. But idk, the dialogue comes from the Bruce hallucinations scene when entering the clocktower.

Brazul Blint what? Nearly identical to Batman? He trained with the League of Assassins for years and then managed to destroy it, she trained with him for like a year. He’s waaay more prepared than she is
Brazul Blint Yeah but story wise it wouldn’t make sense, it would be like having to fight Harley Quinn as a main villain instead of the Joker, sure they’re both crazy but it would be extremely underwhelming and it wouldn’t be plausible
Brazul Blint You got to play with cat woman in free roam and it sucked, it was the most boring thing ever, maybe it could work with batgirl in free roam since she has the same mechanics but at least with catwoman she had an interesting side story. What missions would bargirl be a part of? She’s not really known for having any particular arch nemesis

Yea true but this takes place after he dies and before the red hood also this takes the place just moments before Batgirl becomes paralyzed and when Batman Arkham Asylum begins.

A Story DLC set in Old Gotham (Arkham City) would have been cool. Probably could have taken a little longer to do but it would have been worth it.

This is the only Arkham Episode that I consider to be a reasonable length. If they'd all been this long, they'd of been amazing.

That Zipline is used so infrequently in Arkham Knight that I found myself stuck near the end of this game because I didn't realize I needed to use it. Thanks for the walkthrough.
This is still the closest thing to a live action batgirl .
She doesn't strike as hard as Batman but she's certainly quicker than Batman. Batgirl's speed for especially take-downs is like lightning, it's ridiculously beautiful, lol.
This DLC is better than people give it credit for.

Tim is Robin because Rocksteady and WB Montreal want to force their stupid, shouldn't-even-exist, already WAY too forced relationship even more. I agree, Jason would've been way better, and funnier too. Dick would've also been good.
